Irma hit some 8+ months ago but property looks great.  We were worried when booking but some friends from Miami went by and verified it all looked good. We were embarrassed that we had invited relatives to go on this vacation with us. The house stunk. It looked as if there had been an attempt at renovation but someone gave up. Outside, there were construction debris and a trash container with a hideous odor (which had obviously been sitting for some time beside the street). There were mold and holes in the walls both upstairs and downstairs. Some lightning fixtures were installed too near the ceilings and the paint was burning off. We were afraid to leave the lights on for too long a time. One load of clothes in the washer and dryer took a very, very long time to cycle. The linens were threadbare and the mattresses uncomfortable. We were seriously overcharged for this rental and will never return to Islamorada."
