I have been here many times but I have to rate the place is mediocre at best... Some things are good but some things are simply not. The first item I ordered today the tamal dinner was not available due to the lack of tamales which I suppose could happen sometimes. The second item I ordered today was the seafood chimichanga advertised as being stuffed with shrimp and crab... While it did have a good amount of shrimp, it did not contain any crab at all. Crab spelled with a "C" on the menu was definitely not real crab. Had I realized it was imitation Krab I would not have ordered it...Certainly not at nearly $19 read more

Coco Loco is the latest of many Mexican Restaurants at this location and we tried for the first time yesterday. The prices were reasonable and the portions were huge! The service was fast, attentive & friendly. We were eating at prime dinner time; after ordering, our food was out incredibly fast! Two of us shared the Fiesta for two, it had a taste of all the meats (chicken, steak, pork & shrimp), fajita veggies, quesadillas, rice & a tasty chorizo cheese dip. It easily could have fed 4 given the chips & salsa you get when you sit down. We took home half the meal! The house margaritas were standard, a bright green generic mix on the rocks, nothing to write home about. The frozen drinks around us looked good. read more

Yummy lunch - enjoyed the margaritas and chips/salsa. My spinach enchiladas were tasty - fresh spinach was appreciated. My whole family enjoyed their meals too - beef enchiladas, chicken with white sauce, and plenty for the vegetarians. Inexpensive, too. Overall: Yes A fun and pretty tasty place to get some Mexican food. Poco Loco has some terrific interior decorations, chairs, tables, and decor that really throws together an enjoyable and authentic eating experience. The food itself is well prepared, we got our orders taken quite quickly and served quickly as well. While the dishes aren't bland, they're not too rigorously seasoned and the presentation is just good. Nice servers, the chips and salsa are fresh (all the ingredients taste fresh) and the music isn't too loud which I always appreciate. Was traveling through town and would definitely stop in again for a no-nonsense, reasonably priced meal! I was in shock at how amazing this beautiful restaurant is. Not just the interior not just the exterior not just the food but the staff. ONE worker in particular JAYDEN he was the best waiter I've ever had in my entire life of living on this earth. He made sure that me and my grand baby's drinks was NEVER empty. He RAN to our table to get our order so we didn't have to wait. HE was the most mannerly man I've ever met in my life. I took my grand baby's to this restaurant and they both got enchiladas and I got the chicken nachos. My grandchild Chico was crying by the end of his meal but happy tears cus he said it was the best food hes ever eaten in his entire life. My other grand baby Bianca had a GIANT crush on Jayden. Bianca is only 9 so she is still a little child but Jayden was so good with the kids he gave them a coloring book with some crayons well they waited for the food. I looked at the yelp ratings but not the dates. My mistake. I saw the 4 stars. Our waiter was very friendly and the restaurant was clean and bright. Servings were large and the price was ok if the food was good. The food was VERY bland and flavorless. Salsa tasted like tomato sauce and guacamole was flavorless and almost smooth and runny. CheeseEnchiladas were bland, tasted like tomato sauce and the cheese was like glue. It tasted like American cheese which I don't like. Pork enchiladas verde was chunks of grayish tough meat thrown over the enchiladas. I really wanted to like it. I love Mexican food and have a fairly wide range of what I think is ok but this wasn't for us. read more

Went to lunch with my daughter. Food was not good at all. Prices were kind of high. We ordered a cheese enchilada for my granddaughter and it cost 5.49! just for a tortilla and some cheese on it! I ordered the Patito Dinner, that was not a Patito at all, hardly any meat in it at all. My daughter got some kind of dinner with pork on it and she did not like it at all. Ordered "Grandmas Salsa" which they charge you extra for and it was just like warmed up tomato sauce. Requested a manager and he came to table and said he would give a discount to us. We got our bill, I paid it and did not notice until I got home that there was no discount. well 38.00 later I know if I will return to that Coco Locos. I have been to the one in Bay City and the food was always great! and the service was excellent! read more

Also isn't it just common restaurant etiquette to not bring one persons dinner out and leave the other sitting there waiting? Well that happened, at least I had chips and salsa. I decided to meet at this restaurant for a casual girls night out. I wanted something I thought would be festive and fun for dinner and a couple drinks. This place far exceeded my expectations. The overall dining experience was as good as a Mexican restaurant gets. The chairs, tables, walls, booths and even bathroom were decorated with fantastic colors and displays of Mexican decor. The service was great, the food delicious and the Lime Margaritas tasty! I started my night with a "medium" sized blended Lime Margarita. The "medium" looked almost like the size of a pitcher, it was huge and yummy. I ordered La Botana which was an awesome nacho dish with beans, grilled steak, chicken and all the Mexican fixings of sour cream and guacamole. The night was even more festive with live Mariachis that sung to every table. I would definitely recommend this place for a good time with family or friends and I plan to go back for more. read more

From walking in to sitting down, at first I'm thinking like very tacky Mexican. I think I like it. Homemade Chata and Sangria sitting as display. Funky little Mexican pic'd swiveled bar stools. That anyone with ADHD would love. We sat at the bar. I was sold on the Sangria which was really good and tasty. Served with Chips and salsa to hold you over while ordering. Homemade salsa had a nice fav and the chip a nice crunch. All good so far. Yay! Bc I'm very hard to please. We started with Guacamole Salad which was a good. For the entree we order Parrillada Mexican. Shrimp, steak, chicken, sautéed onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers. Topped with a pork chop and ranchero sauce. Beans, rice, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole and lettuce on the side. The pork chop was so, I mean so Salty! Almost like it was cooked Perfect then an evil sibling came and dumped salt on it when you wasn't looking. I was like REALLY! Then I jumped into the rest looking to see if it was just the pork or everything was bathed in salt. It wasn't cooked in salt the salt was poured after cooked. Pretty much all the meat was salted but not as bad as the pork. The rice tasted as if stirred with butter like country crock after it was cooked. The pico was ok but Meijer Deil is better. The beans was the best part and I hate refried beans. For desert which at this point I just should of stopped. I had to complete this review by ordering the Flan. Which was decent. But no warning of whip cream and chocolate. I prefer just the Flan with extra syrup. Which I thought needed more. Overall ok little place with salty food. My family and I are regular customers of the Bar City restaurant. While in Saginaw last evening we decided to get carry out from the Saginaw branch. In or normal fashion we placed our our. I an a chips and salsa person and the salsa is very medium. I also pay extra for the HOT salsa you have to request. My husband request the HOT salsa for me and paid the extra cost. Upon returning home I realized that we were not give the salsa. Not the regular salsa that my family eats to the HOT salsa for me. We were given 3 containers of HOT SAUCE. Hot sauce directly from a bottle poured into containers. Not only was I upset because we spent money for an item we did not receive. I was offended that as an African American family we were given containers of hot sauce. We will never be customers of this restaurant again. read more

We wanted to try this place out rather than our usual "Los Cuatros" spot, but very quickly realized that trying something new isn't always good. We got seated quickly by a not very enthusiastic hostess/waitress, got our drink orders in, food in, all is well. She hands us our salsa and chips, and that's where it starts to go bad. Apparently, Coco Loco thinks that just plain, typical tomato sauce is good enough for salsa. Yuck. I've never had such boring salsa in my entire life! When we asked if they had anything spicier, she said yes, but it'll cost you. Most Mexican places offer hot or mild salsa FREE OF CHARGE. This place doesn't. Our food was only so-so. For what you're paying, the portions are extremely small. My hubby's chimichanga was just a small, rolled up burrito, maybe no longer than 4 inches. Usually, they're at least double that at any other Mexican restaurant we go to. The service was very poor. It was obvious the waitress didn't want to be here and truly didn't care about our experience there. We were very often needing drink refills. Don't waste your time by going here. Go to Los Cuatros instead. Coco Loco is more expensive, has smaller portions, has EXTREMELY bland salsa, and poor waitstaff. We will not be returning. read more

Any chicken dish here is very good, they seem to have a really good shredded chicken... I really enjoy the chicken soup as an appetizer. They give you chips & salsa when you sit down which is nice. She had no idea what I said so I ask if they had spicy shrimp and she said I could pour hot sauce on grilled shrimp if I wanted. Ordered seafood chimi, got fajita chimi was told that's the way it is. No offer to fix or change. Only asked if this was one bill or two and if I wanted to speak to a manager who never showed. She was combative and not helpful. They have cheapened the quality of the food and the service has worsened. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Update: I asked to speak to manager and told him my displeasure. I also talked to the server and used this situation as a teaching moment in customer service. Explaining how to recover from a service mistake in a simple manner. I still won't return and cannot recommend this place to anyone. I look forward to the next restaurant that opens in this building as soon as this one fails. read more

Sparkling clean restaurant with attentive and professional staff. The food was wonderful! Excellent quality, beautifully presented meal. The seafood chimichanga I ordered was fried to perfection just like the menu says, and covered in white sauce, just like the menu says. Eat here quite often, but haven't for about 4 months because of personal issues. Have always loved the food & service is good too. ( Maybe because we are usually 1st or 2nd after opening at 11:00 a.m.) We ate here 8/6/15 and we were very surprised to see the JUMP in prices. I had the seafood chimichanga & thought by raising the price from $14.99 to $ 17.09 they would use real crab, but not the case. Whole menu has price hike, so will think twice about what to order next time. read more
