Great atmosphere! Went to Coco for Tapas and Cocktails with some girlfriends the the servings were great. They had some really interesting cocktails too, raspberry mojito, yum! The decor is so great, as is the art and photographs that adorn the walls. It really has funky cuban vibe. It's a great place to start off or finish a night, with it being more of a cafe than a restaurant. It isn't terribly big so they really count on customers coming in for a quick coffee or dessert to help out with turnover. Oh and it has the best coffee to be found in Parramatta! read more

So many choices down this strip of restaurants to chose from. Fortunately, I think we picked the right one on this Saturday night. We had the tapas selection of calamari which just melted in your mouth as an entree. For main meal I had the Chicken Salad Tortilla Bowl. The flavours were awesome, melted in your mouth & was good value. Maybe just a little less dressing in the salad would be nice as it was too much. Nice all the same. The service was great, fast & helpful. The atmosphere was pretty cool too, however where we were seated was a little squashy. Would definitely return next time I am up from Melbourne. read more

Oh. My. Gawd. First of all, crazy good food! More on that in a minute.... Looks like the immediate area is undergoing quite of bit of construction and updating. While it can make a mess of traffic and parking, the area is home to lots of dining choices. And, from I've been told, they are all good. Coco Cubano sits on the corner and as you walk up, you can see folks sitting in a window box on either a settee or chairs with tables for your food and drinks. Really fun and cute. Even though it was raining outside, the atmosphere was comfy and very friendly, too. Menus are trifold and sitting up on the table with some interesting choices. I had the Cubanito with fries & the spicy mayo on the side. De-lish! I mean it!! After living more than 35 years in South Florida and having so many choices for excellent Cuban food, the few so-called Cuban restaurants in Sydney have been mighty disappointing. But now???? I can only say that if you are an American expat, get yourself over to one of the Coco Cubano locations for a real Cuban dining experience! And, if you are an Aussie, come on over here for an authentic Cuban meal! It is really that good! Logistics? As I said, there's lots of land development and construction happening right now. Parking on a weekend might be difficult it, so take my word for it, very worth it. Fortunately for me, my dining partner lives just a short walk from this up and coming area. Staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. The walls have lots of artwork and all in all, gave me a 'homey' comfy feeling. Milkshakes, tapas chilli cheese fries and awesome music! That is what my night out with friends was and it was awesome! As soon as we arrived we found the place packed with no tables left but the manager kindly packed up his paperwork and let us sit at the table he was at. We all ordered tapas each to share which consisted of chicken bites ( with an awesome spicy sauce), haloumi and capsicum, calamari and lastly chorizo and olives! All the tapas come out in little awesome dishes, since coming here quite often we were surprised to find that the tapas no longer come with little pieces of tortilla to wrap your food up in. A mistake in the kitchen found that we ended up with an extra tapas but they said it was on the house! The tapas were very nice and we washed it down with milkshakes. The caramel milkshake if I may say was absolutely amazing!! Yum! Can't wait to come back again. Might try the cocos located in Campbelltown next time :) read more

How can you not go to a restaurant with gorgeous street-side eating when the restaurant has "chocolate" prominently displayed on the banner above the doors/windows? Well- a bit of false advertising as chocolate was only found in the dipping sauce for the churros. If you want chocolate- Better to head down the street to chocolateria San churro to get your fix (which is exactly what we did.). Meanwhile- if non-chocolate food is your thing, I enjoyed the warm mushroom and rice bowl with added chicken for $19.90. I don't know if it was authentic Cuban, but it had delicious beans, corn and baby spinach not to mention delicious fresh Australian avocado. I don't know if it is considered the National fruit- but it should be! I paired my semi-healthy rice bowl with a glass of bubbles on the happy hour menu for $5. read more

I have been to Coco Cubano, I think, at every one of its locations in and around Sydney. Suburban rouse hill, in parramatta, in crows nest, you name it and I have been there! But parra was my first so it gets the review :) The atmosphere rocks at coco Cubano - old style antique looking, without being all 'Victorian house'! Comfy chairs and in general, a very smiley bunch of servers and staff members! Food? Fantastic. Every time I've been, I've tried to order something different (and being veg, I'm fast running out!) but the food has never disappointed me. Their cheesy fries and potato wedges are special favourites. Honourable mention goes to the generously topped, heated nachos. But my favourite are their burgers. So big that holding them becomes a trial, it is worth it for the taste! :) read more

Coco Cubano is an interesting place, the cuban theme is quite fun, with comfy armchairs, cuban pictures and music, and cigar boxes for table numbers! The focus here is the coffee, cocktails and hot chocolate. A great selection of hot chocolates and cocktails make it a good place for post-dinner drinks. There's also a small food menu. I like their Cuban breakfast which has toast, smokey beans and bacon. I've had a few problems with the service at the parramatta store, but nothing too serious. One of many places to get coffee/hot chocolate in the eat street area, but the theme makes it a decent option. read more

Pretty disappointing. Quality of food was good but the cost and portions were ridiculous. For example, the avo on toast has cherry tomatoes on the menu - it literally came with ONE cherry tomato cut in half. It was also only one piece of sourdough. The vegetarian breakfast (18.9) came with a teaspoon of wilted spinach, and one medium piece of sourdough. We literally paid for main and received snacks. Disappointing. read more

While strolling down Church Street this morning we passed Coco Cubano and we thought we'd give it a go as many other restaurants were closed that early on a Sunday morning. The restaurant seemed inviting and the atmosphere was pleasant. We ordered a bacon and egg cubano pressed sandwich, Havana feast, toast for our little one and a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was lovely and my sandwich was simple and tasty... however it was nothing special. The Havana feast was enjoyable and filling. I did find this place to be quite lackluster simple things were missed by staff such as water for our table and also serving butter that was almost stone cold and impossible to spread. read more

Hi, After moving to Parramatta I'm a regular visitor of Coco Cubano. I like the ambience and the culture very much. Most staff are very friendly too. last week(sunday) i invited my friend for a nice cultural experience at Coco Cubano. It was such an embarrassment. The place was full of flies and the washroom was dirty. She walked out!! Today that is good friday morning at 11 am i visited the restaurant. The guys were friendly, but it took a long time to be served. Looks like they were understaffed, people were complaining. I paid for pancakes then was told ..ran out of batter! Then compromised for veg Havana feast. The Havana feast was so tasteless, i didn't eat much. In short such a great place oozing with culture is going to dogs, being understaffed, unclean and tasteless food. Please save it. read more

We came here for an early dinner at 4p on a Friday. It wasn't too crowded and our party of four was seated right away. The menu was a mix of tapas, sandwiches and burgers and a many more other food items. There's also an extensive drinks lists w sangria, coffees and even cigars (in case you weren't tipped off by the many photographs of people smoking). For me, the Cuban pulled pork sandwich w chips (fries if you're American) was very good. My wife had the salmon and salad which I tasted. The salmon was very soft, not at all firm as fresh salmon should be. She didn't like it much either. I would also recommend the red wine sangria (you can get it w white wine as well). The corn on the cob w chili wasn't too bad. The atmosphere was chill, the servers could have been more attentive (no waters refills offered) but I would come back again to try the chocolate drinks and tapas next time. I've stopped at Coco Cubano each time I've been thru Parramatta, which is every other year While the atmosphere is great for people watching, the food has seemed to have gone downhill a bit. The menu has changed over the years and I found it hard to pick something I really wanted for dinner. I ended up with a cubanito, which was a decent sandwich, but nothing fantastic. They used to have some great desserts. Seems all they had were churros this time. I remember chocolate lava cake with delicious ice cream before. This was nowhere on the menu. This is still a fun place to grab some coffee or a beer, but the menu changes have let me down. read more

My friend got a glass with lipstick on it, so maybe someone just wanted to send their regards or the glasses were actually not washed at all...the staff is casual to the point of being rude. Totally bummed out with this place. Not just once Or twice but 3 times! I've had a terrible experience with this place in which as long as I shall live I will avoid this place like the plague. My first time at CC it was busy and we sat down and it took the staff 30 minutes before they decided to clean our dirty table. It then took another 20 minutes before they decided to come and take our order. The second time was a similar experience I came with my girlfriends and the female staff were too busy to clean our table or even make eye contact with us because they kept talking about some "hot" guy instead of being concerned about their hungry customers. Third and final time I went I didn't even want to go but my friends insisted and we waited and waited to be served and by the time they came to take our order the kitchen shut so off to Maccas we went. Great location with cute decor and a chilled vibe inside that is perfect for a casual catch up. The flip side to this cosy and intimate setting, however, is that on a busy evening you might find yourself seated outside... which doesn't offer nearly the same experience. Nevertheless, there were some delicious aromas coming from the kitchen... so I'm keen to try the menu in the future. Not really worth it for a simple coffee/tea date (as I was on), but recommend taking a look if you want to indulge in something a bit more decadent (think rich foods and hot chocolates)! read more

Just terrible. Firstly table service was slow ended up walking up to the counter to order the food for our table. The waiter apologised later for that. But also noticed other customers doing the same thing. We waited nearly an hour for our food to come which were a chicken and halomi fajita. Firstly why does it take an hour to grill some chicken and halomi? Secondly it looked like a dish a 10 year old could have put together. And thirdly I didn't find the dead fly in the avocado very appetising. I noticed the fly straight away and told the waiter who was shocked and said he'd have a new one out for me. We got up and left. Didn't trust the food after that. The can of diet coke and bottle of water we ordered were on the house thank god. Would never go there again! read more

It was our first visit to coco cubano and we did not expect this to be our worst experience. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and seated and than the long wait began..15 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we were there, I had to wave at the waiter to take our order, he came and said that someone else will come to take Our order, fair enough..another 15 minutes passed. One girl came and took our order. 30 minutes later still waiting and neither drinks nor the food arrived.. waived at another waiter to see whats going on, he said he'll check and come back.the waitress who took our order saw us talking to the guy and immediately came to our table and said it will take another 20 minutes.. like for two beers and nachos you guys need an hour...what are you actually doing..so this guy who was quite apologetic about the delay said not to worry and it will be "On the house".. Finally the food came..it was average.Drinks were fine, went on the counter to pay.. I paid the whole amount, nobody even acknowledged that it was on the house.. why did you have to say that when you had no intentions of fulfilling that. We didn't ask for any refund, paid in full and left.. terrible customer service, never going back again and I really Do not recommend this place.. read more

A coffee so tepid and boring, it was left on a rubbish bin in a nearby alley. When I arrived at about 7.30 on a Friday night, I thought I had joined a long queue, only to realise that these were staff chatting away blocking the front door. If you can't find better coffee takeaway in Parramatta, look harder or change suburbs. read more

Fantastic!!! I've been to Coco Cubano several times and make a trip out to parramatta just for this place. Seeing the other reviews on this site leave me a tad bit confused. The service at Coco Cubano has always been great, yes they get busy and at times it is difficult to find seating but its Parramatta. Crowds are to be expected. The staff have always been courteous and also willing to help whether it be by moving around seats/tables or letting us move tables several times. The staff are also great with my son and make an extra effort to make his meals look fun and appetising. A waiter added a smiley face into his hot chocolate with cream just to entertain him. The food is really good. The peanut butter and bacon sliders are my version of heroin, AMAZING! They also make the best Mochas I have ever had. There isn't any rush to leave either and the armchairs near the windows are so comfortable, sitting in the sun drinking sangria and watching the crowds walk past is the ultimate relaxing Sunday activity. There have been some issues when coming to Coco Cubano such as the eggs in the oven baked eggs dish being a bit undercooked but every restaurant has issues every now and again. Also the tables outside where people can smoke is troublesome, the smoke just carries into the restaurant but the staff were very happy to move us to another table. read more
