It was a very painful experience, the technician Ann (who is also the salon owner) was extremely rough with my eyes and I had tears streaming down my face the entire time because she was scraping my lashes so roughly. As this was my first lash lift, I thought this may be normal practice so I just suffered through the appointment. The next day (my birthday) I woke up and my eyes were so swollen I could barely open them. I called the salon to ask the brand and specific product they had used on my eyes but they wouldn't tell me, nor did they offer any aftercare advice or a refund. I'm guessing whatever they used wasn't actually supposed to go near the eyes, or that she didn't properly clean the product off before the service was finished. This made me afraid to ever get a lash lift or tint again, but I ended up going last week to Ksthetics and it was an amazing experience. I felt no pain or discomfort during the appointment whatsoever, she was so gentle that I could barely even feel her working on my lashes. Furthermore, she properly cleansed my lashes afterwards and I experienced zero irritation and had no allergic reaction in the days following. This confirmed for me that Beautiful You salon does not use eye safe perm solution and does not properly wash off the product afterwards. I'm including the photo of my eyes the day after my appointment with Beautiful You, and a photo of my eyes after my appointment with Ksthetics for comparison.

I called and she took me in an hour later at her home which seemed "normal" to me because of COVID-19. She did state she works from home and not her salon because of her fear for COVID-19 which I totally understood. The process took about an hour. When I saw it I was so happy because it looked very nice. I was looking at my lashes on my way home and touched them ever so lightly and that's when I felt this hardness all across my lids. When I got home I looked in the mirror and I saw so much glue. More than 50% of the lash extensions were glued crookedly over my lashes. The most I found was she glued 1 extension over 4 of my natural lashes. It's so disappointing because I entrusted her and it was only to ruin my natural lashes. The glue was so thick and just poorly placed. Come to think of it, I don't remember feeling or hearing her separate my natural lashes as I did when I would go to my usual lash lady.(my usual lash lady wasn't available).

Once I secured an appointment date with her she sends out a consent form that you have to fill in before going to your appointment and pre-appointment instructions. It's imperative that you follow these - i.e no caffeine on day of appt or no alcohol 24 hrs before etc. I decided to do the ombre powder brow. During my appointment, Holie really took the time (this was actually where most of my 3 hrs appt was spent) doing her mapping technique and hand-drawn lines using this string apparatus for accuracy. She was so detail oriented and really took every opportunity to quadruple check how it looks. Most importantly, she will get my feedback on how I feel about it. She explains how the initial color will be dark and will constantly say not to freak out. After we both felt comfortable on the shape, she gets to work. She explains every process on my eyebrow progress, that she's doing the shaving, or now she's doing the outline, whether she will apply numbing cream, and now she's doing the shading or what the possible sting level might be. Very thorough and so easy to talk to, Holie made the experience bearable and enjoyable and I left with a very defined brow and super excited that I won't have to draw my brows every damn morning! They sit you on a comfy recliner chair and cover you up with a cozy blanket. Krystal was so gentle during the process.
