I was at the mall and wanted to try something different so I found this spot. The inside is very nice and clean. Minimal decor, but efficient. I had their Chicken Burrito Bowl, which was decent but not my favorite. It comes with yellow rice, pinto beans, chicken, veggies, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. I wish they gave you more rice though, I was literally scraping the bottom of the bowl to find It. Also the veggies that are in the bowl are very big, so if that's a big deal for you, take caution. Other than that, It was tasty and there gauc was good. I would like to try It with the chips next time. In addition to the food I had there "Cantaloupe" Agua Frescas and that was amazing! Very fresh and yummy! I will be back to try their Elote though.

    Pupusas

Good solid food. Pupusas are on the high end of restaurants in the area, good size and thickness. The burrito is a good size, the flavor is good but could stand with more pronounced seasoning. Great takeout option for the family.

    Chicken nachos

I've been living in the area for about a year and I should've ate here a loooong time ago! The service was quick and attentive. Ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer (which is sharable) and steak chimichanga as my entree. If you're looking for some good Latin American cuisine THIS. IS. THE. PLACE. Can't wait to try the margaritas next time.

So how do I start to share that I now have found a liking for burrito bowls. From the presentation, packaging and most importantly taste. Very satisfied and happy with my selection for lunch. Would certainly recommend if you're in the area or simply want good Latin food. The restaurant was very clean, open, several spaces available to sit. The bar looked as if they get a lot of traction. After seeing the menu I can see why. The staff and chef Carlos were extremely nice. I'd 100% return.

    Shrimp taco and Birria Tacos

The birria taco wasn't too good 7/10 the shrimp was better. Service was good very attentive server. The mango non alcoholic daiquiri was 10/10. Place is cute nice size ample parking.

Besides the fact that it's really inviting and cute inside. Our server was also friendly and attentive. All I got was some nachos and it filled me up!! The nachos are some of the best nachos I've had. They were super delicious and flavorful. They had a bar as well; so I'll likely be back for drinks. Although I didn't try anything else, all the food I saw coming out for others looked really tasty.

Fish taco cucumber tomatoes and a good sauce
    Carmen S.

I went here today for the first time. I sat inside and had tacos! The veggie taco with corn tortilla was very good. Not too salty and the veggies were not mushy or overcooked. Yum! I also had fish tacos with a corn tortilla. It was really good and the style taco had a good sauce with tomatoes cucumber and a radish. Very good. I would definitely come here again- not typical tacos . They taste fresh!

    Spinach empanada
    Bessy G.

Pros: Food is tasty. From the bowls to the pupusas, everything tastes good and I really appreciate the "vegetarian options. Cons: inconsistency in to-go orders. There have been a couple of times I've ordered empanadas and pupusas, yet the accompanying sauces were missing from the order. Because I was already home, it was inconvenient to drive back. Sauces are good! I also don't know if the empanadas are meant to be different sizes. I ordered one of each: vegetarian, chicken and beef. The vegetarian was the smallest. Not sure I would price 3 of those for $15. Tip: the spinach empanada also has corn and mushrooms, which are not disclosed in the menu.

sides: plantanos madurai, black beans. chips and salsa. margarita.
    Eri S.

Was peckish from shopping so got two sides: black beans (our friendly server confirmed it was vegetarian) and maduro plantains. The plantains were served with a side of crema, so if you skipped that, be a vegan meal. don't miss the chips and salsa: chips were freshly fried and still warm. crisp, not so thin you couldn't pick up a decent amount of salsa, but not so thick to be hard tack. the salsas were great, flavorful, balanced, good mix of spicy and mild. margarita was good, appreciated it not being too big so we could get back to more shopping after. would go back to try more things - others reported their food was good.

    Birria Burrito Tax Quesadillas
    Iris M.

This is definitely a go to restaurant for an experience that you probably would not have anticipated, but definitely need! We tried a little bit of everything, but it really blew me away was the calamari which is going to be an exceptional pic for your taste buds and the octopus quesadilla something I never would've thought to order but definitely will order again! The restaurant was clean and the staff was so warm and inviting. They make sure to make great recommendations and did not guide me wrong.

    Enchiladas verdes
    Domonique G.

My friends love Cocineros and invited me for happy hour. We had chips and salsa along with queso also the wings for appetizers. Enchiladas are one of my favorite meals. I ordered the birria enchiladas. The flavor of the salsa verde was nice but the birria was tough and dry. Beans and rice were good. Jennifer was our waitress. She was very sweet and pleasant. I would visit Cocineros again but I would have to try another dish.

    Grace K.

Food delicious! Very good nachos, crispy calamari is tender and delicious, this is my favorite. The tostada is also my favorite, the plantains were cooked perfectly. We celebrated my daughter's birthday here and it was fun. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was pleasant and music made us feel like dancing. It was a fun evening. I would definitely return to try their other dishes.

Non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri. Delish! $9

Understandable since the order did have side of casamiento. So I call to get this fixed. I repeated the my order to the Cashier Ana MULTIPLE of times that my order supposed to be revueltas NOT frijoles. I go back to pick it up and I did not check because I didn't think she would mess it up the second time around. I was wrong. I got the SAME EXACT pupusas again!!! These pupusas were a treat for a coworker and they can't eat beans. I called for a refund because at this point it's too cold to be outside to pick up wrong orders and we were both frustrated, but Ana did not want to refund my money due to me "already getting an order even if it was not correct." She wanted me to go back for the THIRD time and when I declined she would offer other days like Tuesdays to go back for the right order. I politely asked to get refunded, she declined to do so. After multiple times of telling her to refund me, she said I would have to go to the store to pick up my refund???? I paid with my card NOT with cash. Whole phone call was very sarcastic because she knows she was wrong. This is very UNPROFESSIONAL.

Inside offers a huge dining room and bar, and what it lacks in décor, it balances with inexpensive, delicious, Salvadoran/Mexican food and drink. Servers were friendly and are fluent in both English and Spanish. One $5 margarita ($3.50 during happy hour) will have you tipsy for a few hours, and most likely not able to drive, so be cautious. Thin chips and a tasty salsa should help soak up some of that alcohol. The pupusas had a good char, but I've had more flavorful versions of both those and the curtido, though, to me, pupusas are one of those items that I love good or bad. My friend's sopa de gallina might be my new illness/hangover cure (she swears by it), as it was fresh, full of vegetables, and served with a delicious wild chicken thigh and homemade tortillas. I went the Mexican route, choosing my favorite--enchiladas. One beef and one chicken enchilada were huge, well-seasoned, and smothered in cheese and a rojo sauce. I could barely finish one--you could definitely share this dish. Unassuming restaurants are my favorites--it's like the hidden treasures of the foodie world.

I ordered three chicken and cheese pupusas, and they were a great size. I was nearly full after the first two. The flavor was on point. My apologies for my photo because I was already halfway through my third pupusa before I remembered to snap a picture. I also tried the corn tamale, which my wife and I enjoyed a lot. On top of that, I ordered a steak taco, which unfortunately didn't make it into a picture either because I ate it too fast. What stood out to me was the "shell." Instead of the usual flour or corn tortilla, it uses the same masa dough as the pupusa, and I really enjoyed that difference. We finished our meal with the nuegados en miel dulce, something I had never tried before. I was glad I did because it was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food and experience were excellent. If you are like me and rely on Yelp reviews to decide where to eat, I highly recommend giving La Casita Pupuseria & Market a visit.
