There are 3 Cocina Michoacana restaurants that I know of in this area and all are amazing! I love #33 two burritos supremes, chile verde pork :) This spot in Sonora has a particularly spacious indoor seating area. I highly recommend it!

Easy parking, the restaurant is spacious and not too noisy. Soft Spanish music playing. Our order was taken right away, however we got the food to go. We sat at the bar while waiting and drank a glass of Sangria. Very friendly staff.

I had the burrito supreme lunch special. It was fantastic! I also asked for the cut cabbage to mix with the salsa for a very tasty, crunchy treat! They have a full menu but I chose from the Lunch menu. Glad I stopped in. Enjoyed my lunch and will come again

Dear Cocina Management: Anyone in the restaurant industry knows that your patrons come first or you don't have a restaurant. We have been coming here for 13 years and for the most part have had a good experience. Having said that, I am going to you sick, then I'm going to make you well. Today, we came in for the second time since your newly-instituted policy of only providing one refill of chips and salsa, and charging $2.00 extra for "all beef orders" (see attached photo with crookedly-cut paper - does not look professional). Upon asking the waitress the first time we encountered this she said it was to "cut costs". I certainly understand that. With the full understanding that it wasn't her decision,I told her that you were, if fact, unnecessarily taking away something from your patrons and that people don't like having something taken away from them. You have put yourselves in a position to make the patron feel nickle-and-dimed and that isn't a good thing when trying to recover from the loss of business as a result of the Bat Soup Flu. I then provided the following remedy and asked her to pass it on to you, the management. She evidently didn't do that or you chose to follow another course. The fix, I told her was easy. 1) Remove the sign. 2) Remove the policy. 3) Add 5% to all items on the menu. 4) Call it good. Adding 5% to the menu will cover the beef and chips-and-salsa problem and no one will notice or care much if they did. A $12.95 item would now cost $13.59. No one will complain about that. Further, the cost-cutting could happen by reviewing all their other spending except food costs (that'll kill you, too if you cut quality). Administration supplies: Paper, pencils and pens, toner, etc. can all be sourced differently. Staff supplies: aprons, hair nets, gloves, masks, etc, again, can all be re-sourced. Restaurant supplies: do not buy disposable cups, bowls, and those little cups for the salsa. Wash what you have. The plastic cups for the salsa look cheap and that transfers to your restaurant looking cheap. Further, all that waste may likely raise your garbage bill. You get my point and you should feel well, now. The bottom line is this, patron should be the LAST place to cut costs. If you have any questions, I'll be glad to speak with you about this. Oh, and I'm a retired troubleshooter who was damned good in cutting costs and raising the bottom line.

Fajita salad and chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, both are menu items.

The food is excellent and authentic, and they overcharged me for lunch by more than five dollars the two times I went there

No judgement. Ordered a crispy chicken taco and chili relleno combo. Started with garlic soup. Everything was great! The owners are just the cutest older couple. They were sweeping up and cleaning tables as I walked by... I said I felt like I was home as I passed. I was able to seat myself and since I was a party of one I chose the small table in the front window. I felt like I was at home on my porch back home. Watching cars, unwinding. I was watching the locals go by minding my own business sipping on a Modelo. I ate some dinner after a long day at work while traveling out of town. I asked for them to wait to drop my food and I was in no hurry. I was watching the tables to make sure I wasn't taking business. I enjoyed my evening as best as possible since I couldn't be home with my Boyfriend and kiddo. I had read the reviews and asked for the hot sauce and a little bit of each on a chip was delicious and perfect for this Guera. I asked for a side of the mole sauce. I smothered my chicken taco with that mole sauce and I'm telling you the flavors of all their sauces and their food was perfect. The Hispanic family I grew up across from growing up ... when I would walk in that would ask me growing up Quieres comida Guera? Loved it! That's the only thing missing! Them words. A cute funny story is one of their regulars as they were leaving. The owner approached them to say goodbye and the little one that they were carrying, he spoke to them about her meal. He spoke to the child. It was the sweetest thing to watch he said "I have a new customer" because the baby tried guacamole mama reported I'll be back

I tried both the garlic soup and the tortilla soup, and the tortilla soup absolutely stole the show. If you're only getting one soup, make it that one. I also had the chile relleno, and it was really good. The egg batter was fluffy, light, and wrapped around the chile perfectly. The rice was a little bland on its own, but once you mixed it with the beans and sauce, everything came together nicely. We also ordered the milanesa empanizada and added grilled onions on top, which was definitely the right move. The service deserves its own shout-out. Everyone was so friendly, checked on us often, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Between the food, the hospitality, and the cozy atmosphere, it honestly felt like eating at a family member's house. I'll definitely be back
