Amazing food cooked up quickly to order. The portions are very generous, which I always forget and I end up ordering enough for 3 meals - which is fine, because the food is delicious. I love the spicy salsa, it has great flavor and quite the kick. My favorite is the Mexican style enchiladas: enchiladas basically topped with sauces and a salad. The sopes are also a favorite. This frees you to peruse the Thrifty Bee's local goods shop next door where local made treasures and goodies can be found. You know the place is going to be good because when you drive up you're hit with the yummy smells of meat grilling. Since this was our first try, we got... - Taco Charro: large corn tortilla piled with meat, cheese and chopped tomatoes with a cream sauce - Carne Asada Taco: street sized, good quality meat with no grizzle! - Sope: large freshly made corn base that was 1/2 inch thick and fried lightly. Topped with meat, beans, lettuce, tomato and sour cream - Quesabirria: crispy fried with shredded beef and cheese - Churro: was store bought yet still freshly warm and crunchy - Chips and salsa: Loved the salsa but the chips were store bought which was out of place with the homemade food. New location and clearly the word is getting out with the constant stream of patrons. I "listened" to the good reviews and thought this place was going to be really good. Don't get me wrong the food is OK but by the time you get it, it's cold and all you get was a "sorry for the wait". Like no even if there is a "wait" and there is no one else in line or waiting for their order how is the food still cold after waiting about 25 mins for two burritos. I took out the burritos in the parking lot took a bite and the inside of my burrito was room temp and parts of it were completely cold like the rice and beans and even some of the meat. It's really upsetting and disappointing. I will not be eating at this establishment anymore and I don't recommend you either. Thanks. read more

We were excited to try the Tacos MI Charro truck after finding out it existed. We wanted to start out with something basic and simple. So, I ordered a bean and cheese burrito, while my friend opted for a carnitas burrito. We also requested the 'spicy' version of their house salsa to go with our food. The next customer behind us also tried to order a carnitas burrito, and we overheard the cashier tell them that there was none left. Apparently, we got the last of the batch of carnitas. We went home to eat after running a couple of errands along the way, which took a total of about 20 minutes. Once we were at my place, we both cut our burritos in half, planning to save the other half of each for another meal. We wrapped them back in their original foil wrapping, then my friend put his leftover carnitas burrito back into the brown paper bag it came in so he could carry it home when he left. We ate, and both of us enjoyed our meals. The hot sauce was great, just not nearly enough of it. Tiny containers, SO pointless. Mexican food comes with salsa. They are a team. It's been that way since the dawn of time. Vendors need to plan for that, and charging extra for it is a really crappy business tactic. Thankfully, they didn't do THAT, but we definitely ran out of salsa before the burritos were finished. As he was planning to stay for a couple of hours, my friend just left the other half of his order on the counter in the kitchen. I had put the remaining half of my burrito in my refrigerator. When my friend left to go home, imagine our reaction when we found that the paper bag was soaked through with grease. He couldn't even use the bag anymore, as it never would have held, and it would have left stains everywhere. I asked him if he even wanted the rest of the burrito because the foil it was wrapped in was positively drenched with grease. In fact, it slipped out of his hand and hit the countertop as he tried to repackage it with a plastic zip bag, and he had to wash his hands before he could finish what he was doing. He told me he would see what he could 'salvage' of it for dinner. Turns out, not much. It was pretty bad, he told me, which is a shame because he thought the first half tasted pretty decent. But he said that most of the second half went to the raccoons. Expensive raccoon vittles, I'd say. Bottom Line: Conveniently located. Friendly staff. Great salsa, but meted out in much too tiny containers, not nearly enough to serve with a burrito. That needs to be fixed. Mexican food and salsa are a forever marriage. Don't start a Mexican restaurant if you can't wrap your head around that basic truth. When it's done correctly, carnitas should NEVER be greasy. EVER. That's a golden rule of porkery. You may have lost a customer for that alone. I haven't talked about a second trip for my friend, but personally, I will give Mi Charro another chance, as my meal was good. My bean/cheese burrito may not have been anything special, but it was as expected, and I enjoyed it. Just remember, vendors, there are four other places in Angels Camp for Mexican food and several others within a reasonable distance. The competition is real. Also, a suggestion to the chefs: When I visited your truck, I was hoping there would be a 'chile relleno' option. And of course, a chile relleno burrito option as well. What is Mexican food without them? So long as it is cooked correctly with a minimum of oil, it should be delicious. I would like to see rellenos added to your menu. I'm betting other people would love to see that as well. I will be returning. I can't speak for my friend. But, please provide me with enough salsa to get through an entire order and keep the fatty bits of meat, the gristle, and the excess cooking oils out of my meal. This seems fair in exchange for our business. We'll develop a wonderful relationship that way. read more

The best quality, most authentic, brightest, freshest, richest flavors, and generous portions. Each time I pass through Angel's Camp, I look to see if TMC is open. And when they are, I always have my fave vegetarian sope (hand made sopes!), and I try something new. And each time, it takes me back to my childhood growing up south of Ensenada, BC where the food was so simple, and so fresh and flavorful. I find their prices more than reasonable considering the quality, flavor, and made by hand. Not to mention the owners are just the nicest, most hardworking young folks you could ever meet. And if you complain about their prices, go to Taco Hell down the street and see what you get for your money. read more

Very disappointed. Not having many options in AC we had to try this taco truck out. I'd give zero stars if I could, 1 star for service as the lady that helped me was very nice. Other than that the food was bland, salsas were not spicy and also had no flavor. We ordered 2 of the 16inch burritos, 2 tacos and a quesadilla to give us options and to try out. The quesadilla my 4 year old ate and was pretty hard to mess up as it was just cheese and tortilla. We ended up throwing away the burritos and tacos as it was awful and a waste of money. Only 2 people ended up trying the burritos and both woke up in the middle of the night throwing up and diarrhea. Definitely staying with Mary's next to Middleton for taco truck food. read more

I tried Los Pinos, Marys and the Cascabel truck in Murphys and none really made a stunning Carne Asada taco. Today I tried the newest truck in the area, Tacos Mi Charro. I ordered 3 tacos with pickled jalapenos and hot salsa and my Asada cravings were finally satisfied. Served the way I ordered it, their Asada taco is a flavor bomb. Pow! A little spicy and stunning flavor, one of the best I have had anywhere. I have had their burrito and was underwhelmed but these tacos were exactly what I wanted. Yummy in the extreme. read more

Came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago and im pretty sure they are sick of seeing me by now because im here ALL THE TIME now. By far one of the best taco trucks I've had. All the meats are full of flavor and not dry at all. The quesadillas are huge and wonderful. Burritos are definitely enough for 2 people to share. And let me tell you how seriously addicted I am to the churros. I'm not sure what those other 2 bad reviews are talking about but they are either mentally slow or have covid and can't taste s**t cause this taco truck slaps. 100% better than the Mary's one. read more
