Parts Rep at the counter: not knowledgeable, not helpful, not friendly. I actually had to bring a parts list and diagram from another store, and Parts Rep had no idea what he was looking at, had to explain myself several times. Paying for it was awkward bc no pos register at the counter and Parts Rep didn't have an invoice. I was supposed to trust him when he walked into the back (out of view) to run my card. Classic set up for a scam artist. I'm still holding my breath. This was my first time in this outlet. Parts department not clearly marked from the outside. No directions even on the inside. I will never return and if I thought about buying a vehicle there, well, this experience sealed it for me. Will never return for anything there. Just bought a certified 2023 terrain with 25k on it. All went good til paperwork was signed and I declined extras. rude followed and was escorted back to salesman Corey Gonci (lazy POS). There he handed me one key fob, I asked where is other I need two. he went into offices and returned with a guy named Chris who stated he can only offer fob at cost (which is $50-60) no charge for key cut and programming. days go by. Corey telling me hadn't heard anything. stopped in to pick up mats. asked Corey again. He goes to parts where this part was in stock the whole time. goes to service then tells me cost is $400. now I'm upset. I snapshotted same part # online for $110. that's what he charges me, not their cost. Should've been free, should've came with car. says they'll cut key but must program myself. so much for his bosses word!! when done, Corey hands me my credit card and fob and walks away! Like I'm a nuisance to him. someone was to call me to discuss this and never did. So I filed a complaint with GM. Son bought Sierra AT4 from Marhofer because of rude salesman. Wife bought her Acadia from Lafontaine because of salesman Chris not calling her back. This place is a joke. Shop elsewhere!! Not worth the stress!!!! I had been car searching for a new vehicle for a week at many dealerships with all bad experiences. Even after finding the SUV I wanted, the local dealership was very rude and demeaning. They informed me the vehicle I wanted was at this location but did not want to help me get it so I drove 81 miles from Cleveland to get what I wanted. Missy was beyond helpful and was not a pushy salesperson. She was amazing. We called ahead saying we were coming and she had it out front waiting. After I got there, as soon as I said let's do this, she had it in the back getting gases up and detailed. She went over and above taking pictures of my programmed radio channels and even took a picture of me with my new car. I also enjoyed our conversation while going through the process. Travis in financial was also a great help. I never saw someone go process everything so quickly. She was very pleasant and helped me through the process We also had great conversations. Before I left they set up my phone and showed me all the features of the car. This is not your typical dealership. They treat you like great friends that they've known for years. This was the best experience I could ask for. I only wish this location wasn't so far because I feel I could trust them to work on my car and not have to worry. January 2026...My first visit to Cochran since they bought out Columbiana Cadillac. I have a 2015 Cadillac SRX AWD. Had an oil change and tire rotation. The service part went well. I received a postcard giving me oil changes for free this year, that was a +++! Few things I would like to mention. The sofas and chairs in the service "lounge" are very low back and are the most uncomfortable I've ever had the bad luck to sit on. The tacky faux leather is cracked and split open. Lastly Columbiana Cadillac always washed my car at end of each service appointment. They didn't dry it, but at least I could see out the windows. Having my car washed would've been really appreciated this winter. Hope this helps you to make some small changes that would go a long way. read more

No star - no car!! Was hoping I could give zero stars, but I wanted to be sure I could be heard on this. I "purchased" a car on Friday - have the check from my credit union, have the new insurance cards, have the title waiting in my trade-in's glove box. But, my car was purchased the Saturday prior to me driving down to take ownership. I'm letting my salesperson off the hook here, seems like this issue is more systemic of Cochrane - car mill - this has been my thoroughly disappointing experience. My educated guess is that they took cash on hand from someone physically on the lot, over the sure thing arriving Monday morning (one business day later). According to the dealer info, they sell (and transport) within 300 miles. It is what caught my attention in the first place...but buyer/potential buyer beware - my experience is that the purchase is not a sure thing for the remote buyer. I know Cochrane is a business, and there are bottom lines to meet. But I also believe in customer service and integrity. Seems as though Cochrane is lacking in both. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I tried to write good reviews when I've received good service and this is not the case. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I would like other people to be aware of my experience. I was in a situation where there were no other able to fix my car within weeks. I took it to the GM Buick service center and have had nothing but trouble first of all they're quoting me over $400 more than other mechanics are the car is not drivable and that's on GM and Buick For installing faulty parts to begin with, but that's another story. basically had to leave it there because we'd have to tow it somewhere else and everybody else isn't able to provide service within the next couple I guess I should've waited because it's been a couple weeks since I've taken my car there. I was told I would get a loaner car and I think they said that just to appease me because that never happened I leave messages. No one returned them. I have to call the scheduler. They try to reach the service center and nobody replies back to them. I've been without my car for over two weeks now with no definitive date. I was told that the service manager would call me. He never called me. I was supposed to be ready by the end of today it hasn't been it has been a very frustrating experience especially when you're paying over $3000 for the car to be fixed and you just need to know what's going on. read more

I had an issue with my check engine light on my vehicle. I paid $99 for the vehicle to have a diagnostic test done on it. The issue was resolved in a timely manner and I was contacted the following day since I did not have an appointment. Service department examined to me ahead of time that they would have it for at least a few days until they could get to it. They communicated to me effectively and timely and I could have asked for nothing more than that. I had them replace a wheel hub for me and a driving light and spent $641 to ha e my car fixed. Although this dealership is 40 minutes from my home, they have earned my business and I would recommend their service team to any chevy or gmc owner in the Valley. Ed read more

I would like to give "hats off " to a young man in the parts department. It may have been just another day to him, but he handled it like a pro. I brought my broken fob into him with the key in one hand & the fob in the other. No problem, he said, we'll just put your key into a new fob and explained how to program to my car. It took him less than 5mins. for the whole solution. The reason I was so impressed was that I had just left another GM dealership in Columbiana, that told me " they couldn't do that and would have to get the Vin. numbers from my car and order a new fob /key made to work in my car", also it was going to take 3 days to have this done. I ordered a truck from Sweeney's, and after it took 10 weeks to get delivered they raised the price by two thousand dollars the day I went to pick it up. I had an agreed upon price and asked the salesman 3 times before ordering the truck if the deal could change since the lead times were so long. He assured me the deal would remain the same. The only reason I knew the price increased was because I demanded a detailed break down to ensure it was the agreed upon deal. Do not order a vehicle from this dealer. They do not stay true to their word and they did nothing to try to make up the difference. read more

I leased a 2020 Encore in September and found out within 30 days that the entire exhaust had unacceptable amounts of rust on it. A new car should not have any rust on it. Sweeney left it on cinder for over 9months and a winter. The car should have been better taken care of by the dealership . Moisture damage is what I was told caused the problem. This is a new car and should not be in this condition. read more

I made an appointment last week for a simple service. Dropped the car off on Sunday for an early appointment on Monday. Called at Noon, nobody knew where my car was, received a call from Rich the service manager, told me my keys and envelope were misplaced. Then, called by Cheryl, my advisor, that at 4:30 pm that my car never made it in the garage and it would have to stay another day. I purchased a acadia Denali in july. The sales experience was horrible i asked for an awd Vehicle and was showed a 2wd and mistakenly bought it. Waited 2 hrs for finance to do deal while my quickly prepared leaving glue adhesive on exterior of car and damage un-noticed. Vehicle was delivered with factory damage such as Denali chrome loosely on vehicle as well as a damaged shift indicator bezel proving vehicle was not inspected. Within 3 days of delivery I returned to Sweeney to state I wanted to return the car and was informed nothing could be done as far as a exchange. Leading me to service for repair I scheduled repair on a 3 day old car. Upon receipt of parts a service appt. Was scheduled and a full size car requested. No full size car was available I had to wait. My exterior repair was completed by non gm technicians @king collision. Upon return of vehicle repairs were sub par /unsatisfactory. Chrome was still loose and paint work was not credible of a $50,000.00 car missing paint/clearcoat. I called sweeney to inform them of shoddy work and was told they would send it back to king collision which was not acceptable to me. I went to another local dealer and they agreed work was shoddy and ordered new parts. I was contacted by Steve Bannon expressing his concern for the situation i asked steve again to trade me cars he said he will see what he can do, meaning an opportunity to sell another car and remedy the problems in which is what I truly would like. Time keeps passing and still no solution. I called DOUG SWEENEY to explain he stated he didn't have much time and what does he have to do(somewhat rudely). I tried to explain everything and was basically cut off and asked to allow a 2nd repair by "them" I said no due to the fact you have no body shop he said "yes we do" in which is not true they sub-let the work to king collision. I then stated no I do Not have to accept a non gm technician working on my car. Mr Sweeney then replied "then why are we on the phone" in a rude manner. I said to give you a chance to remedy the solution he said bring your car in so they can repair it. I said no I have a gm dealer with certified technicians for free because of my loyalty and the fact gmc wont pay them and Mr Sweeney asked "well then why don't you go there" I then laughed @ him and said i will he said "go ahead" i replied i am going to and i will let everyone i can know about this. read more

Overall this was a poor experience. We purchased a $30,000 vehicle from Sweeney and the check engine light came on for 3 unrelated problems within the first month. The service department insisted that we owed a deductible even though the first problem occurred within 5 days of the purchase of the vehicle. Only after multiple phone calls to management and after nearly a week had passed did we finally get the deductible waived. The second time we took the vehicle in for service, 2 additional repairs were done but we were only told about one of them. The only way we knew about the 2nd repair is we were given a printout when we picked up the car that listed that it had be done and I asked the service department about it. I feel that it is unethical to make repairs without disclosing it to the owner. This situation was not handled well throughout the entire process, which is why we are giving Sweeney a negative review. read more
