It's about 25 miles away but worth it to be covered for oral surgery. When I went to Dr Stender's office for the initial consultation the staff was very nice. During the consult, the doctor and his assistant were cheerful. I felt like I was with friends. Dr explained the procedure in detail but in layman's terms. His receptionist told me the approximate copay which was within a few dollars of the actual amount. I left confident that what seemed like a major thing- crown lengthening (bone shaving), was a minor operation. It turned out to be routine and minor oral surgery. In fact, I drove myself to and from the office on the day of the surgery. Dr Stender skillfully applied local anesthesia. It didn't hurt when he inserted any of the needles nor when he did the surgery. I was only there for about 45 minutes from parking my car to heading back home. I had no pain afterwards and I did apply a cold pack for the first couple of hours per instructions. I never took any pain meds and returned a week later to have stitches removed. I had no discomfort or complications. I highly recommend Dr Stender and his associates. He always used my preferred nickname which is more than I can say for some of my co-workers :-) if you're looking for excellent service from competent and personable professionals look no further.

Dr Blackburn is not only a personable professional; he is also one who has extensive experience implemented into the quality to his services. He and his staff are knowledgeable, capable, and efficient. They provide a quality experience from the moment you enter the spacious home-like atmosphere of a waiting room, the comfort of private exam rooms and the finished friendly checkout process. I came to Dr. Christman''s office through a referral (for gum recession caused by orthodontics) from my primary dentist. I walked in on my first visit TERRIBLY anxious, given my history with dental anxiety and so on. I left feeling reassured, but still nervous as I waited for the "big day". When it came down to my procedure (two teeth needing a gum graft, using tissue from the roof of my mouth), I was really, really anxious ... but Dr. Christman and his staff were SO gracious with me as I took the extra time I needed to gather myself. (The Ativan really helped, too.) I was so relaxed toward the end that I even joked around, asking to see the tissue graft before it was placed over my teeth. (He did actually show me -- I have pictures to prove it!) Dr. Christman gave me as many frequent breaks as I needed and never once made me feel bad or self-conscious because of the extra "care" I was needing. I'm thrilled to say that it's now been several months, post-op, and the graft itself has taken wonderfully. My roots are fully covered and, as far as we can tell, there isn't any need for any follow-up treatment. No more risk of losing teeth because of straightening them in the first place! So, all that to say ... I'm very grateful to Dr. Christman and his staff for their expert care with especially-anxious patients (like me) and in Dr. Christman's laser-focused, highly-meticulous, detail-oriented approach to providing second-to-none periodontal care. Here it is, October, and I have received no payments for the monies that I had already paid in full. To top it off, the insurance company has stated that they have a contract with this office and they should have deducted the amount rather than charged me in full to begin with. Looks like I'll be going to small claims to get my money. Aside from the sketchy billing department, I was treated by a young dental hygienist who was no where near as gentle as the lady they had 2 years ago, They had to give me extra local anesthesia the first quadrant yet when they did the next round a week later they decided to not bother with the extra anesthesia when they already knew I required more.
