Finding a new dentist when you move is important. Herres Dental (HD) is now our home for dental…read morecare. My sons and myself go there for our cleanings and such. It's very close to home which is a big plus for me. HD is a beautiful office and has a nice waiting room. It has a TV but it only has photos streaming on it--very relaxing. Toys for all ages to help with the wait and coffee (Keurig), tea and water bottles. The dentist uses all of the newest technology and keeps up with the recent techniques. I had a small hole in my tooth due to grinding in my sleep. Because of that, I needed my very first filling. I was nervous about it and thought I would need a needle to numb the area. However, whatever technique he used, he didn't need to use a needle and the whole process was pain free. HD uses emails and text messages for appointments and conformation. The only thing I don't like is that they are closed on Fridays--well, they are open but they do surgeries. So, if you need to make an appointment or cancel an upcoming one, you have to wait until Monday. I *do* like the fact that they have evening appointments on Wednesdays. We've all been very happy with HD and with no issues.

(Original review from Google Maps on January 20, 2017.)…read more Having recently moved to the area, a friend recommended Herres Dental as a place who could understand my history of bad experiences with various dentists, working with me to address anxiety I had "in the chair" while patiently tailoring each visit to my level of comfort (including breaks during treatment, constant awareness of my anxiety level, and a willingness to always relinquish control to me, as the patient). I'm sorry to say that I did not find these things here. At my initial visit, they seemed to understand my past negative experiences and anxiety that made it very difficult to even walk through the door and sit in the chair. This was reassuring. At this same visit, I was told that I needed moderate work to repair several older fillings along with gum grafts in several places. (I don't dispute their diagnosis since I realize Dr. Herres was being as comprehensive as possible.) This news left me feeling discouraged, anxious, and fearing the work needing done. I was very anxious driving to the appointment to have my first two fillings repaired; thankfully, they did offer Nitrous Oxide to ease my anxiety, though I was so worked up that the Nitrous ended up having little to no effect at all. (My heart rate was very elevated based on the EKG machine they had me hooked up to, skyrocketing at various times before and after they began.) Early on, I noticed that Dr. Herres and his staff were either trying to stay on schedule for the day, or they were already behind. They were waiting on my readiness me to begin, as I showed no signs of "calming down" at all, evident by my heart rate and general state. Finally, I gave the signal for them to start. It took every ounce of effort within me to avoid becoming overwhelmed by my anxiety during the procedure; this created a sense that I was microseconds away from gagging or being choked (a common response for those who suffer from severe dental anxiety). As we were nearing the end of the procedure, I could no longer hold it together. I gagged repeatedly, coughing, and had to sit up. Because we were in the "filling" phase of the procedure, he had told me previously that we would not be able to take breaks any longer. Because I had forcibly taken a break, I knew I had just ruined the work Dr. Herres had done so far. I felt terrible, from shame over my inability to hold it together, and for so greatly derailing the work he had done. Shaking my head and saying, "I'm so sorry, I just ruined all of that, didn't I?" Dr. Herres responded with, "yeah, you did. We have to start all over." Dr. Herres' response seemed to communicate his lack of awareness as to how his patient was truly doing in the chair (the heart rate monitor indicated this clearly at various times), his insistence to continue even as I showed signs of panic, and his words of frustrated exasperation to me after I struggled so much that I gagged and had to sit up to recover. I recognize the difficulty of having to go through a procedure like this with a making it far more difficult than usual. But the marks of a good healthcare provider are being able to "read" your patients' individual needs, levels of discomfort, and overall state, as well as being able to stop or make provisions for a different approach. If you suffer from dental anxiety, please find a different dental office. I don't doubt that Dr. Herres understands his patients, but he either grossly underestimated my situation or was in such a hurry to get through my procedure that compassion was lost. On the specific day that I was there, his ability to handle me, even in my self-induced, elevated, anxious state through fearing the procedure weeks in advance, was a clear indicator that he and his practice are not equipped to handle those with severe dental anxiety. (Please see this page for a clear picture of what it feels like to suffer from severe dental anxiety. The symptoms are the same, though abuse is referenced here: http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/fears/abuse-survivors/)

Been coming here for about a year, after an incident with my old, long time dentist. Sardina may…read morebe a bigger practice but are thorough and treat you like family. I was very impressed with my first visit but be forewarned. A new patient appointment takes well over an hour as they get to know you and your teeth. They are very professional and thorough and it feels like a spa treatment instead of going to the dentist. They offer warm blankets, weighted blankets, headphones, essential oils, have a massaging dental chair - whatever you need to make you comfortable and at ease. While the dental hygienists do the majority of the work (with state of the art equipment I might add!), the dentist is still very hands on and takes the time to really listen to you, your concerns, goals, routine etc. Dr Adams was a pleasure to work with. I've now been here several times, for routine and not so routine stuff. They accept my Aetna dental plan and give you an estimated out of pocket figure before any work is done. To my adventage they've always estimated high so I got refunds. Staff has always been a pleasure to work with and the practice is housed in a beautiful, historic old brick home. Parking can be a bit tight as the building also houses a daycare that share the lot, but never impossible. A must for anyone who has a fear of going to the dentist, although I don't, but believe they will be super sensitive to your needs.

I corresponded with the office staff via phone and email to accomplish the transfer. They were very professional and efficient. When my appointment finally arrived a few months later, I was reminded over and over via text to the point that it was borderline harressment. One reminder is fine, especially when I confirmed, but the repeated texts were a tad overkill. When I arrived I was greetly warmly to a very clean and beautiful office. I've never been to a professional health care provider that was decorated as homey as here. It was nice, without being too much. My dental hygenist was running late, as I wasn't called back till 30 minutes after my appointment time. No one informed me of that. Than it took her longer to actually build my chart, and get the front desk to pull and download my previous xrays from my old provider, all while I sat in the chair and waited. I feel all of that should have been done prior to my appt. To be honest I was very annoyed at how long I was there. The cleaning was good, and they provided a courtesy scan of my mouth. Dr Scott was charming and easy on the eyes. He answered my questions in an easy to understand manner. The welcome goodie bag was a nice surprise, with merch I will actually use. Obviously I'll be back, I hope the running that behind is an isolated incident. I also opted out of the text messages, so moving forward I hope to give them an additional star.

I went in to have a tooth pulled. They pulled the tooth & checked a couple of other things. They…read morehit me with a plan that would cost several thousand dollars. I declined their treatment plan.
