The best animal care in practice in upstate NY by far. The pricing is not what drives the owners and employees of this business they serve the community and the best of care to pets. I was once quoted almost $3K for a lump removal as a second attempt after freezing and draining it cost me over $1k again...on my healthy Yorkie. The same lump was removed at this vet practice for under $1k including all follow ups. Since then I return to my home area from an hour away just to see the best care for all my pets. to this vet realizing I have been getting scammed in Albany based on location convenience I suppose. A few years a​go, a veterinarian here named Dr. Durry(correct my spelling if needed) working here killed my cat. He had a pocket of blood forming in his ear and needed it drained. After the first and second surgeries, it came back each time. The doctor recommended a third surgery and after inquiring about prior knowledge of anesthesia and how too much could kill my cat, he insisted it would be fine. We did the surgery and later that day, a blood clot formed and went to my cats lung killing him on the car ride back to try and save his life. Never EVER going here again and I recommend none of you do either if you want your animals to stay alive. read more

must read***my experience with them *with them was not good not even nice i do not have a balance with them. never did and .. i found a animal in disstress with giving birth to still borns due to a blockage ( which) i knew not info from them ) they refuse to see her. now shes bleeding out . but without payment she cant be seen by "doc" crazy!!! she currently still wont eat or drink and she is passing small to medium size blood clots so if you have the ability to save a life and decline thats not gods wprk. ppl get consumed with greed this clinic clearly is not about care , concern & doing the next right thing****** read more

Diane W. Cobleskill NY Absolutely wonderful and competent vets'. They have always been willing to advise when I needed to refer one of my Danes to Cornell Companion Medical Facility. As indicated by another post, they are super responsive to my animals (and mine) needs, and have always come to my house when required (Dane owner). They provide their own emergency services, and unless you need ultrasound, ct scan etc, they are definitely available. If the situation requires assistance from Emergency Services they are the first to recommend same. Love, love, love my vets !!! read more

Dr.Duryea, Dr.Montario and others at Cobleskill Veterinary Clinic have done a fine job helping me care for our housepets. They show real caring during annual exams, and have seen us in a couple of emergency situations. Dr. Montario and Vet Assistant Sam came in on Saturday when my dog suffered a bite injury from another dog. It was Dr.Montario's suggestion to do a thorough well-check battery the year before at Chuy's annual, and this knowledge and record was invaluable when determining the risk of anesthesia to a 14-year-old Chow mix. I find the entire staff to be caring individuals, and will continue to trust this place with any and all pets & animals. I have used several different vets over the years of horse ownership. The vets at this clinic are by far the best I've worked with. They take their time, come prepared and send the doctor who knows my case. Other places sent someone new each visit and they never bothered to know me or my horses cases before arriving. It was frustrating to have to try to update the vet with each visit. Not anymore! My neighbor recommended them to me and I'm so glad she did. We think this is a wonderful vet clinic. They have been super responsive to our needs and those of our animals (donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats). This is a post to warn anyone who may use a veterinary clinic not to use them. I used them for 10 years and they misdiagnosed my dogs lipoma which is a fatty tumor for SIX years. Turned out it was mass cell tumor which is cancer and she died at 8 years old. They never aspirated it and said it was harmless and if it were their dog they would not take the chance of putting her under for just that. I am wiser now and know about aspirating which I didn't until I went to another vet. So please if you have a pet beware and aware of the development of any lipomas and insist on aspiration. read more

I'm sorry to hear that happened. That was the same thing that happened to our Shepard at Shaker Vet as well. Those things are hard to spot and diagnose. I think that this vet is very good and affordable. I have two pit bulls now and I don't know any vet that would go out of their way to treat them so well. read more
