Interesting place and i never do reviews, this might be my first. Got my little boy Hugo there and i want to address a few things. When we pulled up we did see the other dogs in cages and they were outside but you could see they had homes. I personally wanted to go inside and just sit with our little man and maybe see the brothers and sisters but she brought him out to us not letting us inside. Maybe they suffer from separation anxiety at a young age idk. When we had gotten him we had some fleas but it was raining before and damp thats ok. Only part was a few weeks in he had round worms so just not sure where those came from but again, common, this is our second vizsla. Hugo is almost 2 years old now and although he had a rocky start he is the best dog i have ever had in my life. Hes not just a dog but my best friend. He kisses people on the mouth is so gentle and snuggly and is even better than our first V who till Hugo i thought was the best dog i ever had too. They just keep getting better. I hope for long term longevity with him. The Vizsla bloodline she has is great. Looking for a GSP soon. For all seeing, the dogs are fine and loved and the vizslas she has will melt your heart. Cant speak for the GSPs but everyone should have a Hugo. read more

I recently got a Viszla puppy from Diane. I read all the reviews below and have come to the conclusion that 1, some people never actually dealt with Diane. And 2 the referenced article below has nothing to do with her. I have a contract with Diane same as any breeder would give. Our puppy is 4 months old, handsome, and in great health. Reviews should be credible. Not just throwing words out over anger. I was at the farm. I saw zero of the conditions listed below. I remember having to make a deposit payment but I don't remember how much it was. I told her I wanted Grey (Blue) Thai Ridgeback. When the litter was born on November 2018 we received pictures and I wanted the Grey one. In January 2019 we picked him up. He did smell like a farm animal and was scared. We put a puppy jacket on him and on our way home he threw up. He has had minor health issues like throwing up when he was a puppy, skin rashes and blisters. We got him vaccinated and immediately began to bring him to dog runs to get acquainted with other dogs and people. But as he grew older he for into more and more fights with other dogs and was very aggressive with small dogs and docile dogs. He also doesn't like small kids. With adults when we are out he is friendly 90% of time. The other 10% it's usually with people who look strange like disheveled homeless people. At home if anyone comes into our house unexpectedly he cab be aggressive. He is a good guard dog. He is very obedient to my wife because she is strict with him 99% of the time. With me, not so much but he does run to me when he is scared and not her. The only serious health issue we had was last year he was snapping at the air. At first we thought it was flies or mosquitoes but then we realized nothing was there. We took him for an check up, then an eye specialist then a nerve specialist. It seemed he was just suffering from anxiety. So we gave him some anxiety pills, bought him more mind toys and took him out more and he was better. I've never had a Thai RB before and he is very intelligent which makes him bored very easily. He is very independent and difficult to train but can be trained with a lot of work. Definitely not a starter dog. When he is on our bed and doesn't want to be bothered he will growl at me if I try to kiss him but he won't do that to my wife. He usually doesn't like to be huge by strangers and will growl and bark if they try to. I don't regret getting him. We love him very much and spoil him to death. read more

I bought a ridgeback it she had parvoviris. it cost me $1,200 to buy her and then $2,700 to save her live. She is 8 and in declining health with shim issues , hip issues and about 10 lipomas . i befriended so people who bought her brother and after 9 months they gave him to me. He was a good dog, but riddled with health issues and recently had to be put to sleep after an 8 month battle with cancer, Hypothyroidism & Cushings. Broke our heart! I would have sent the check right away but Diane turned rude when I proposed to continue our conversation, ending the phone call with: "just send me a check!"... Do not support these terrible people. The reviews are true. We picked up our puppy in January of 2020, he was beautiful but had aggressive tendencies from the start. If you do your research, these are BAD people who do not care about the animals. We ignored the red flags because we were excited about our little puppy, but he grew up and proved to us how important proper breeding is, especially with this particular breed. We did everything imaginable for our pup with a heart breaking ending and it is 100% due to improper breeding. Ask to see where the puppies are. Pay attention to the breeding dogs outside in cages, all year round no matter the weather. We were there in a snow storm and they were all miserable outside and we weren't allowed to see where the puppies stayed or living conditions but our puppy smelled horrible and was extremely dirty. We don't need to give every detail but PLEASE do not perpetuate this problem. All of these poor puppies are not in the wrong- these horrible "breeders" are. read more

So this was our first experience with a breeder and it was a great one! From the moment I spoke to Diane she was friendly, informed and seemed to care for her dogs. At all times Diane was responsive and true to her word. Diane knew dogs and bernedoodles in particular and was so helpful as far as giving us advice and helpful training tips. She sent us pictures and updates after the puppies were born. We picked up our adorable (and healthy!) Bernadoodle a week and a half ago and our little girl is so sweet and as well behaved as one can expect a puppy to be! I can't say enough about what a great experience we had. I'll just say this, I did tons of research on the Vizsla breed. I looked up all breeders of these beautiful dogs. I came across South Side Farms. At first, I was worried because of the negative comments. Then I saw recent comments saying how Diane was really dedicated to fitting her dogs to the right family. I contacted Diane and sent a deposit (a common practice for all breeders). Diane had me fill out paperwork that had lifestyle questions, in order to see if I would be a good fit for the breed. To me that shows an ethical breeder because she just won't sell to anyone (I can appreciate that). I was put on a list, for a male Vizsla. I had to wait. After a few months Diane called and said my Archie was born, and it would be about 8 weeks before I can take him home. In those 8 weeks Diane sent pics and an update on how Archie was doing (every 10 days or so). Finally, I got the call that I was able to bring Archie home. My father, son and I traveled to upstate N.Y. to get Archie. Upon arriving we noticed Diane had numerous kennels in the back of the property. At first that worried me but after thinking about it for a while I realized Diane Is a breeder of dogs, this is her livelihood, and it is necessary for there to be kennels on the property. So that put my doubts to rest. When we got there Diane came out with Archie and it was instant LOVE....Archie is sweet, well behaved and the perfect addition to my family. Archie first visit to the vet was a few days after we got home, he was 10 lbs. At our last visit (3 months old) Archie weighed in at 23 lbs. and the vet says he's healthy and happy, Archie is very smart and takes to commands extremely fast. Everyone comments on his royal stature and his kind eyes. I would recommend South Side Farms to anyone who is looking for a Vizsla. This place is disturbing to say the least... I was with a friend who was looking to get a dog from here...as soon as I saw the conditions I was sick to my stomach. How can anyone treat an animal like this and keep them locked in cages all day... worse it freezing out. I talked her out of it and helped to find a suitable breeder through the Akc marketplace website... these are legit breeders who are registered with the Akc and have the dogs health fully checked before breeding them.. they will provide all of the documents to prove it. Look for the breeders that have merit and credentials on there pages.. they want to meet you and let you see the parents and how they are raising the dogs and the puppies. These people care about these breeds and protecting them... they will have stipulations in their buyers contract to protect the dogs bloodlines and heritage because they care about there dogs. do the research... and if it's too much to do go save a dog from your local shelter instead of giving your money to a puppy mill! read more
