Where do I start! I paid in full for a roof with a 50 year warranty. Not happy at all. Once they got my money they no longer were concerned about my complaints. After starting the job with understanding the estimate was my total they charged an additional $7500 I do believe. They said I do believe it was my soffit that needed the extra expense. But my soffit around the house was not fully replaced. They never included the additional cost to install my 4 skylights or so they said. They used too long of screws for my covered porch and have all the screw exposed coming through approximately by 2 inches. They used something of mine and broke it. I brought it to there attention and they said they'd replace it. I reminded them at least 5 times and they never did replace. I requested to have them out to discuss these issues and they never made time so as of today I'm still waiting. They never fixed the screws as they felt it wasn't an issue. I found a copy of my bank statement on the side of my house where several workers were working that day. I had alot of boxes, some with paperwork on my porch. The thought of dealing with this company for 50 years is a big problem since they never addressed the issues when installed. Absolutely cannot trust COBEX to keep their word on estimates or do quality work . Don't pay in full. Pay payments so at least they have to resolve any issues. read more

Jack, who initially came out to meet with us, was great--very professional and thorough. We were genuinely excited about the project after speaking with him. We were told that the roofing job would begin within 1-3 weeks, but it ended up being closer to 6 weeks. That delay wasn't a problem for us; however, communication throughout the process was. It was extremely difficult to get information from the project manager. Although he was supposed to be onsite and overseeing the work, he was never present--I'm not sure he ever even saw the finished product. We were told the project would be completed on Friday afternoon, which was perfect since we were leaving early Saturday morning and needed to have our car back in the driveway. Late Friday afternoon, we were suddenly informed that the crew would need to return Saturday morning for "driveway cleanup." Because of street cleaning and safety concerns, we had no choice but to park in the driveway overnight. When we returned, our car had been damaged. When we brought this up to the project manager, he told us that unless we had video footage showing the exact moment the roof of our car (not the side--where a car would normally be hit) was damaged, Cobex would not be held liable. Even worse, both he and his supervisor refused to engage in any real conversation about it. It's disappointing, because the roofing job itself looks pretty decent. But after how the situation was handled with my vehicle, I cannot in good conscience recommend this company. Honesty, courtesy, and respect still matter--and I hope Cobex chooses to rediscover those values. read more

We had an assault shingle roof on our home. We had years left to replace it but we decided to get ahead of things. We got numerous estimates. We also have 80bsolar panels that would need to be removed DND reinstalled Chris, from Cobex, our salesmen, worked with us on the cost and we decided to upgrade to concrete tiles and the entire job went smoothly and the cost was the same, or less, than everyone else to do cheap asphalt tiles. just now New Was quoted online and sent quotes to my email to roof my house. Quotes for 14 to 16 thousand dollars. There salesman comes out and quotes over 41 thousand. Also they were advertising free gutters with roof replacement. He wouldn't honor it. I showed him the emailed quotes from 2 of his bosses and was told they were wrong and that shouldn't have happened. We just got our new roof installed and I love it. It's not only that the roof itself is more energy efficient but they added low profile vents and created good airflow and things our old house just didn't have. I also appreciate that they did the work very fast and had good communication with us from beginning to end. It was a lot of money, but we got more than one quote and since theirs was just about the same as the others, but I felt like it was a better value and company, we went with them and I'm glad we did. Note that the roofing colors look different in the samples vs in the sunlight so be sure to look at online pictures of completed houses. We went with a darker color that actually looks pretty light in the sun. I'm glad they explained that to us. read more

The weather was an issue (job started in November) and there was a minor issue of a tool falling through the roof of my living room. I got a professional paint job due to this issue. Hired Cobex, based on a referral from a friend, to do a large job including roof, solar, windows, and siding. Stan took several hours explaining everything and providing a very competitive quote. The results reflect a craftsmanship that is honestly really rare these days, and I'm so happy I discovered these guys! The winter storm of 2022-2023 destroyed my 45 foot carport, took out my back stairs, and ripped off the gutters and the roof edging over the original carport. Fortunately I had insurance to replace all of the damage, minus a reasonable deductible. After having the carport replaced with one that will take a snow load of 50/lbs/sq foot, and a back staircase (both by two different companies), I was referred to, and hired, Cobex to repair the roof damage and have new gutters installed. I am most pleased with the final outcome and I believe their quality of workmanship is excellent. Since I had insurance, I feel the cost of the repairs and replacement were quite reasonable. The whole process started on the morning of March 3, 2023, insurance claim on 3/5, and finally coming to a conclusion with final payment on October 31. What a journey and I thank God for the patience He gave me, and for all the folks involved. He has definitely answered all my 48 years of prayers. read more

I hired Cobex in December 2023 to repair my roof. The quality of their work is poor. They had to come back several times to fix leaks that occurred in the same area as was previously repaired. When I contact them they put me off for weeks. I have incurred significant damage to my living room ceiling. This area was suppose to have been repaired in August 2024. However last week the living room ceiling got worse with a hole appearing in the ceiling right after it had rained. The are saying now that I will have to pay them $5,500 to have them repair this new leak. I have already paid them thousands of dollars. They are saying this leak is 5' away from the leak they repaired in August 2024. I dispute this claim as the leak is in the same exact spot in the ceiling. read more

Do not sign a contract with this company until someone with construction experience has looked at it. There are two things at play here, a roofing company that does good work on roofs, and a roofing company that can't get anything else straight. Our relationship with Cobex has been long and arduous. Given the choice to do it again, I would stay far away from them. Negative Motivation begets negative reviews. I just received a Mechanics Lien on my home because of Cobex. The issue is that they are billing me $1000 too much, and I have contacted their sales VP and account manager(5/16 and 5/30), the workers that serviced my home, or anyone who can help. I received no replies despite having a simple 2 page contract that says exactly how much I owe. It is very clear. Other than their back office mistakes, their painting team was the worst I have ever seen. Their "team" showed up late each day, with two guys in two vans. I swear this isn't a riddle. The first guy would get out of his van and put around all day doing little and the second guy would put in a little bit of work before disappearing until after lunch. When I called to talk to leadership, they said they would put more guys on it so it would get done faster. That never happened, and the guys got even worse. At the end of the job, I walked around and showed the very obvious mistakes, but am still expected to pay with an extra rack on top. That's fine, I really don't mind paying up just to get them out of our lives for good, but I'm not paying that $1000 overage. This will get sorted out with Dmitriy Matushevskiy, as his name is on the Lien. But I wanted to take the frustration and disappointment I felt today, and channel it towards helping others. Do yourself a favor and go with a company that has an established track record of success, that doesn't bribe customers for positive yelp and google reviews. read more

The ABSOLUTE most terrible construction group we've ever! The salesperson lied about knowing how to install our large sliding glass door to the degree that they couldn't even figure out if they had the correct parts or not. He also lied about Cobex knowing how to do a quality siding job. It looked like a child did parts of our siding. They fixed some of those bad cuts, but left caulking smudges all over the entire house so that it looks permanently under construction. When their painter was here, he said Cobex TOLD him NOT to fix that. We had another company redo our deck, and do some concrete work. Cobex stained and dented our new deck, stained our new concrete stairs and pathway, they dented our new porch door, ruined some of our landscaping, and left lots of trash and nails. In fact, 2 of my snow tires were punctured by nails they left after they said they had cleaned them up. When something was done terribly, depending on the person you talk to, their answer was, "Well it can't be perfect." No one was asking for perfect. Very concerning was that they did not put the weather proofing under our new slider, or to the sides of it, leaving it to rot, and causing our project to be halted for months. Cobex is supposed to come fix all these issues, but only pretends they will fix it. They have continuously no-showed week after week. Some things were not done to code and need to be fixed. Save yourself, and do NOT hire Cobex for anything! They are not qualified to do many of the jobs they will claim they know how to do, then abandon you once they have most of your money. They do NOT stand by their work, but will just keep saying they are coming to fix it FOREVER, and not show up. read more

UPDATED Review: After some hiccups with communication between us and Cobex representatives, as well as some damage upon install of 5 retrofit windows, the issues have just been resolved. Going forward Cobex says it will work towards replying to customers' phone calls/emails in a timelier manner. When we originally interviewed Cobex representatives we were really impressed with not only Vaz but also impressed with the windows by Anlin. After interviewing several retrofit window companies we decided to go with Cobex and had 5 windows installed. Two of the sashes in the largest window were damaged at the time of install and were replaced. A screen was damaged and replaced. We received a quote from a previous company and seemed a bit high and the time frame we were given was 22 weeks!! We were referred to Cobex and David was eager to come by. We did not tell them the cost from the previous company. He went through and gave us the price of each window (27 windows and 1 slider) needless to say we were pleased $6k cheaper and the time frame 8-10 weeks! Not only did they meet their timeline, (even the project manager came by to check on the progress)they were clean and VERY respectful of the fact that me and my daughter both work from home. We had a few days of high winds and it was crazy with fences being blown down, roofs getting damaged, and trees everywhere out in the streets. We called insurance for how roof repair, filed a claim, and they sent out a quote. We decided to look around because we did not have to go with the insurance repair company. We came across several construction companies with quotes all over the map. Keep in mind that these were general quotes. The quotes would be applicable to changes once the roof got inspected. So, we understood that as we did our research. The reason why Cobex won our research is because (1) they were willing to travel to our location for the repair (2) they offered great customer service, super responsive, pleasant over the phone, (3) they offered a warranty on the roof, which is huge because if something were to mess up right after it was fixed I would want it taken care of - peace of mind, and (4) they had a social media presence so I was able to see the type of work they did and get a feel of what to expect. So, it all came down to cost. We had quotes all over the map. And, to be honest Cobex was not the cheapest, but we did not want to sacrifice quality for cost. We felt that if we are going to live in the house for a while it would be better to have something last vs potentially bleed money throughout the years with repairs - you get what you pay for. We explained our budget situation to Cobex and the amount that insurance was covering. So, anything beyond the insurance amount we would have to pay. We were able to get to a reasonable price that we could afford and move forward with Cobex. Once the staff came out, they worked non stop. They took care of all the permits, all the debris, all the cleaning, setup the inspections with the county, and literally handled the repair like a mini project. I did not have to run to the store to grab items or help out or be involved in any way. The workers were super nice, answered questions that I had, and got the job done in a few days. I got my roof back, no more leaks! And I'm very happy with the results. I'm very satisfied with my roof, as you can tell by this long review. Here is a bonus tip: the only additional thing I would add is that if you are in a similar situation like I am, figure out how the insurance company releases funds. For me, it was not a normal process, I had to fill out forms, mail it to my lender, get their signature on the check, to then have the check be sent back, to then finally deposit it. I wish working with insurance was as easy as working with Cobex. I appreciate all the hard work and effort from the Cobex team for making my roof repair a simple and hassle free process. I answered a Facebook post for Placer County Programs for Roofing. I had three estimates from three different companies. I went with the cheapest which was still 53k. When it was finished, my costs were 58k. The breezeway leaked right from the beginning, around the skylights and gutters. They came out over 13 times and worked around the skylights, replacing the roofing material, calking, patching, etc... Then the gutters started leaking and overflowing and they said the gutters weren't. I don't have any trees in my yard, but I asked them about the leaf guards that were supposed to have been put on with the new gutters. They hadn't put them on, so they were installed after. My gutters continued to leak, and overflow. They have been out here more than 20 times now, always making alterations. Today, they are here again, and now are again, blaming leaf buildup. Well, what are the leaf guards doing? I was informed that the ones they used are freebies and not guaranteed with the roof and they can't keep coming out to clean out my gutters. 58k and they threw in cheap gutters? I'm being told that the gutters in the breezeway were not put on properly, but that wasn't their job... read more

When a tree damaged our house, COBEX was by far the best, we had several quotes, they are not cheap, however they were not the highest quote we got either. We chose them because of their professionalism in the paperwork, appearance, and hands on ownership that treated our house like it was theirs .They kept in touch with us and their crews throughout the process (we liked them even more for there specialists in each phase, carpenters, roofers , painters and the ownership Serge came at the end for the finishing touches) VERY PLEASED!! Horrific service. Julian came out to my house a week ago, he was merely an estimator who when asked confirmed has never once done a roof repair. I'd think they'd let you know that when you schedule. When he was at my home, I requested the quote be emailed after he conferred with the actual roofer doing the work...nothing. I called the office twice on two different days, asking to speak with him; but he never called back. At the time of the estimate, I was fairly confident I wasn't going to use this company based on what he said while doing the inspection, but I wanted to give this company the benefit of the doubt. Based on our interaction this guy was very green, and nowhere knowledgeable enough to determine the scope of work. He was courteous, has a grasp, but he missed two key elements on the roof. What further surprised me was he mentioned there was moisture on the roof, when we've had several 110 degree days in recent weeks. My neighbor who is a retired contractor checked it out, as I was in a panic that a pipe burst or something. Negative, no moisture. He lifted shingles and reached under all flashings. Although the receptionist or Admin is very pleasant, this is not a company I will recommend, and if they try to schedule Julian run...don't waste two hours out of your busy day, when he is getting paid for losing this company business. read more
