If you and your neighbor both have facing slide-outs, you will definitely know what they are cooking for dinner. However, the view out the front of the rig staring right at Lake Michigan more than made up for it. The motel itself has an indoor pool and hot tub (great temperature, wimpy jets in the hot tub), sort of a bar (the front desk staff can sell you a beer or an unadorned canned mixer basic cocktail), fantastic locally-produced frozen pizzas, an ice cream chest, and showers/indoor restrooms. It appears to be family run with a few hired hands, and everyone who works there is very friendly. One of the guys also tends bar at a pub a half mile away, and he will help you out with any questions or advice you might need about the area. We would have extended our stay for a couple more weeks, but they were sold out with an upcoming regional PGA event, so we had to reluctantly pack up and move on.

We were told that it wasn't in his system which really just meant he forgot to write it down since his "system" consisted of a spiral notebook. My guess is that he was able to charge more to someone else so he booked our room and had us look elsewhere. He had us go to econolodge about 11mins away which was great but we had to pay $40 more for the same room. So basically this place probably made an extra $30 charging someone else more money, but used us as a backup plan Incase they weren't able to fill the rooms, and we got screwed because Econolodge (rightfully so) wasn't willing to honor this places pricing

However our reservation was made but somehow defaulted to the wrong date and I did not catch it. Upon arriving at the hotel they offered us a room but not at the rate. They did find our reservation but it was listed as a no show (obviously) and therefore we would have to make another and at a higher price. We fumbled around a bit and I showed her the paper work I have been emailed and the reservation was made and hotel was paid. After a little discussion she mentioned we should try to call Travelocity and see if they would honor it as it was out of her hands. We did and as we described the issue to Travelocity she called the hotel to confirm and agreed to back up the confirmation. O sweet heaven, we had a room and the manager on duty okayed the stay as he was already been paid for it. He was a little leery because some people will try to pull off a free stay. We discussed it and they were very accommodating and pet friendly as well. I do recommend staying here if your ever in the area. I can say that customer service isn't dead at this Econo Lodge.

Didn't need the card key to get in the room and the door wouldn't lock behind me. Got staff to fix this. Then this morning one hour before check out, the card key doesn't work. Had it in my otherwise empty back pocket the whole time. Went up to the front desk to get it fixed. Still didn't work. Staff had to use the master key to let me back in so I could take a shower before I depart. Of course, no hot water. Ughhhh.

There is a small bar featuring daily drink specials and a locally made Wisconsin, all beef 1/4 pound hotdog for just a dollar when you order a drink. I raised my concerns with the front desk, but they seemed indifferent, giving the impression that no one cares. This was my last stay here.
