We were never seated, so we can't comment on the cuisine. I would say that the staff could start by greeting and seating the customers in a timely manner. The waitresses acted as if their stuff was the only deal in town. We went on to White Plains a few miles away for a warm reception and decent food. It would have been nice to spend our $100 locally, but for professionalism and efficiency we would rather give our money to a chain. read more

First let me say that I have been coming here for 20 years..Great burgers...great salads and the service is ALWAYS very good.So as food and service goes ..You can't beat this place...The cleanliness is really bad.I went with my wife the other night and we were sitting in the back in a booth...we ordered and we were sitting there,when a cockroach crawled on the table..While my wife freaked out.I said that "It happens"..don't worry about it.We received our drinks and a minute later another roach walked from the booth backing onto my wife.... I brushed it off her ..she freaked and I said.."Let's go"..I walked over to the waiter and said.."Cancel dinner for us..I left $20 on the table...and tell them to get an exterminator"..He apologized.......It's unfortunate to have an owner who will serve very good comfort food at reasonable prices and not take care of his patrons by spending money on an exterminator... amazing is one of the words i can use for the cobblestone!!!! we have been there a few times in the past but when we went recently, we could hardly believe how wonderful everything was. our very attentive, friendly waitress told us there was a new chef in the house. i was so excited to see all the new menu items. there were 3 couples for a total of 6 people in our party, 4 of which the ordered specials & all of them were to die for!!!!!!!! we can't wait to go back to work our way around the new menu. way thumbs up to the new chef!!!!!!!!!! read more

Been dining here for years and for a local bar and grill the food is fine. Having said that, I would stick to ordering the basic burgers, wings, etc. Once or twice I have ventured out and ordered something outside of the norm and it was just ok. The burgers in any shape or form are excellent as are the sweet potato fries. The service is spotty depending on the day and time your are there so if you are in a rush, this is not the place to go....rather go there and enjoy a beer a burger and some conversation. read more

Went a few times. If you are desperate, want an overcooked burger, swimming in oil, fine. The bun was soaked in it. The rest of the menu was not at all appetizing either. We were not greeted at door, had to call over a waiter to see if we would be seated in a half full restaurant. It is not a clean place, and service was as expected - pretty bad. It had been a while since I have been here, but was my go to when laid over in Westchester. I liked the bar because its small and friendly. We usually eat dinner here and I noticed they had changed the menu a bit. Some of the things I usually would get like prime rib were no longer available. I had the Louisiana Shrimp and it was very good. I ate every bit of it and felt like a pig, but couldn't stop. I read some of the complaints about the service and don't have one myself. The server I had was working a party of 16 and two other small parties like mine all at once and seemed to be holding his own. It's just a neat old establishment that could use a little sprucing up, but I do like the character. For some reason they stopped giving out the free bread, if I recall it was some kind of cinnamon bread they would bake in the little built in oven on the wall in the dining area, but was disappointed to see they were not doing that any more. I think it's little touches like that , that make places memorable. If they bring it back I will give them another star. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Our food was givin away to another table and they blamed it on the kitchen. I saw the whole thing happen. The waiter and a waitress were. Arguing over the waitress giving our prime rib away to another table and three different people came up to our table and told us three different stories. Food is always good at the Cobble Stone. The last time I was there, I started with a Greek salad which was very good, followed by the crab cakes, which were also very good. They were crispy on the outside and tender inside. Typically, the service is decent, however, this last time it was particularly slow. In addition, when asked for our food to be wrapped to take home, instead of bringing the food to the kitchen, wrapping it there, and bringing it back to the table, the waiter brought an empty container to the table for us to transfer ourselves. This place really is a mixed bag, specifically when it comes to the service. For what it's worth any time I've been in there and I've taken normal table/booth service the service tends to be lousy, but by comparison when I'm at the bar the service tends to be great, I have no idea why it's two separate ends of the spectrum. There was one time dining there years ago when the waitress decided to give me and my friends non-stop attitude for no apparent reason, and I'm saying this because I watched her going around the restaurant and she was far more pleasant with other people, yet somehow we wronged her just by being there and she had no problem shoving attitude in our face and pretty much throwing the check at us when everything was done. Yet somehow whoever they have working the bar is great, never had anything but a pleasant attitude and good service. The food is ok, nothing spectacular but certainly nothing terrible. read more

The Cobblestone also referred to, as the Gobblestone is a tavern style restaurant in Purchase New York. We went as a group of 7 and after hiking for three hours we were starving. So the first thing we order was a spicy plate of nachos. Not soggy chips with meat and no flavor. These were good; crunchy with jalapeños, tomatoes, every style chip, meat and so much cheese we couldn't see anything else. It was large enough for our party of seven, with a little extra. After the plate was demolished, we took a look around. The room we were seated in had unique décor, a nineteen thirties feel with rustic flair. The lighting in our little corner was dim and obscured our view of what we were eating and our view of each other. But in other parts of the restaurant with more windows, it was easier to see for other costumers. The restaurant is obvious a hot spot for people to get together for lunch, most of the tables were filled, but there was still room for more people. The service was great, our waitress was prompt and saw to our needs quickly. We found that the "Patty Melt" (a burger on grilled rye bread) was done perfectly. The burger was cooked to perfection, and the rye bread was phenomenal. On some of our orders they forgot a few minor requests that were promptly addressed. For some of us this was a first visit, and some have been in here more times than they care to remember. Either way, it was a great visit. One of the best things about the Cobblestone was the atmosphere, it was friendly and we had a great time. I really recommend the Cobblestone to anyone who wants good food, friendly service, and is in need of a good time. read more

We have been going to the Cobble Stone for years & after last night's meal we WILL not return. The service was horrible & the food even worse. Appetizer was cold & had to be reheated. Ordered (3) orders of burger sliders, 1 med-well & 2 well done, waited 30 min for (1) order to arrive which was asked to be cooked med well & came out well done, the (2) other orders came out 5 minutes later saying it took longer because they where ordered well done (those sliders looked no different than the 1st order). One waitress came over to re-fill our soda order but never brought the soda over, it just sat at the bar. As I stated we have been going here for years & have put up with the wait staff indifference towards the customers & listening to their personal problems as they talk/scream to each other but last night was the last straw. We complained about the food before we left & all we got was "I will let them know". After going home & spending the better part of an hour in the bathroom we called & spoke to the manager who implied that we simply over ate as they had been selling these sliders all day & he himself had eaten them with no complaints. After waking up this morning with stomach aches STILL & no sense that the wait staff or manager are listening to what the customers are telling them, I the customer am telling you AVIOD THIS PLACE. read more

It is such a shame the food is really good but the service is embarassing to the owner. I went there this past Saturday 1/17/15 and had three different waitresses and had to get up four times to get ketchup, napkins, put in our appetizer order, in which our buffalo wings had a hair in and we returned it and received it back with our entree. but what is really disturbing to me is that there were six of us and when we received our computerized bill added with ink was 20% gratuity. there are no signs in there or on the menu about a standard gratuity amount, much less to be added in with a pen. and then the gratuity was rounded off to the nearest ten.... WHAT A DISGRACE!!. my suggestion is the owner either needs to be there full time or a manager which neither were there that night or the day after when I tried to call to speak to the owner.
