I had a great lunch here! The French onion soup is delicious with a great cheese pull! Very tasty broth and a wonderful block of cheese on top.See picture. I ordered a patty melt with a side salad and my friend got the fried calamari. The patty melt was buttery and delicious on crispy whole wheat toast, perfectly cooked medium rare. The calamari was lightly fried and tender. Our server was really fast and efficient. We will be back!

Before the other night, I had not been to Cobble Stone in years - probably not since 2014 when Baby Yelper Jason wrote his initial review. I don't work too far from here, so when my parents called me at work asking if I wanted to join them for dinner, I jumped at the opportunity to rediscover this place. I used to frequent Cobble Stone back in the day when my brother was a student at SUNY Purchase - from what I can gather it's a hangout for the college crowd but also a spot for locals. The aesthetic is old school pub - it's really no frills with a mostly wooden interior and a casual aesthetic. The staff here usually perform all tasks - waiting, bussing, and hosting. After we were seated, we were given physical menus but I noticed QR codes on the tables as well. There were also instructions on how to connect to the in-house wifi which I was pleasantly surprised to see. I remember one of my gripes with Cobble Stone was that cell service was non-existent, but I assume they needed to install wifi so that patrons can connect and view the online menu. Speaking of the menu, they have a wide selection - classic dishes, sandwiches, salads, and apps were all present. Solid offerings - nothing too out of the ordinary but enough to make it interesting. I started with the French Onion which was tasty - big onion flavor and just the right amount of cheese on top. I was feeling a wrap, so I went with the shrimp poboy. It was quite good - lots of shrimp with lettuce, cabbage, aioli, and bacon that provided good contrast. The fries it came with were nothing outstanding but good nonetheless. Overall, I enjoyed my rediscovery of Cobble Stone. The upgraded technology, combined with the solid food offerings and causal interior makes it an ideal go-to spot in Purchase.

We were drawn in by good reviews but these three New Yorkers were disappointed by the mediocre fare and slow service at Sunday noon.

Great old time bar/restaurant. Been coming here since HS. Great lunch spot. Burgers are pretty good. Beer is also nice and cold.

It's a dive. Good food and spotty service. I've never left unhappy.

Charming early 20th century bar. The tuna sandwich is just gorgeous. Only downside was the drinks were pricy.

Stopped here on our way to a ski trip and I am willing to drive the hour+ just to have another meal…read morehere. We got lucky with no wait for a table for 4, prime dinner time on a Friday night. The hostess was super friendly and so was everyone else after that. Honestly so blown away by how friendly all the staff were. We were checked on multiple times and our main waiter was just awesome. On to the more important things - the food. Wow. The menu is not overwhelmingly large and truly has something for everyone. Pizzas, sandwiches, pasta, and seafood. Bonus: the mac and cheese on the kids menu is NOT kraft mac and cheese. We had grilled cheese, mac and cheese, mushroom pizza and fish tacos and wow. Not only did the food come out fast but it was delicious and portions were huge. I was so impressed with this place. The atmosphere and decor are so fun and "cool" and it was the perfect place to grab a bite on our 3 hour driver. Wish we lived closer but the next road trip we're on, I'm definitely finding a way to come back here.

I met up with friends at Village Social for dinner and we had an enjoyable experience! The servers…read morewere friendly, the food was very good, and we weren't rushed at all which was appreciated. Ordered: Crispy artichokes ($15)- these were fried and tasty with a creamy yogurt sauce. Nothing crazy or exotic flavor wise, but enjoyable. Polenta bites ($12)- I really enjoyed these! They were a little salty, a little smoky (bacon) and a little sweet (honey). I will say that I strongly recommend Village Social either update their menu or change the toppings, as these polenta bites were topped with crispy bacon but the menu did not indicate this. Vegetarians in our group didn't realize this dish wasn't vegetarian. Chicken Milanese ($28)- the portion was very generous! It came with a large chicken breast and I requested to change the salad on top to Caesar. I appreciated their willingness to modify the order. All in all, I'd recommend checking out Village Social the next time you're looking for a dinner spot in the area.
