Why would Jackson tell Garett the guards did not take the crank when he knew that was untrue? What was done to conclude "Nothing was able to be identified from the footage."? I'm aware of the situation that you are referring. I think there may have been some miscommunication over the months since this occurred. I don't think there was any ill intent from any party in the conversations that you had with them: police, Garett or Jackson. But, when you speak to three different parties you're going to get three different answers, even if slightly different. The guards did not "take" the crank. One of the guards found the crank removed from the window and took it back to the guard house. Garett Guenot is our Community Asset Mgr. for PMP Management, who I refer to above, so I am including this for completeness. I have been told false information and asked reasonable questions which have never been answered in the months that I requested. I reported a theft promptly including the location and time the video footage should clearly show the thief. I reported this to PMP management / Garett Guenot, as well as to Cobalt security. Garett said Jackson from Cobalt said the guards did not take the property (a crank), yet Jackson contradicts Garett by telling me and the police that Jackson told Garett the truth, which is the guards did take the property. Yet Garett and PMP have not confirmed the truth nor apologized for this terrible handling of this whole situation, nor indicated what will be done in the future to avoid such problems. I was told, "Nothing was able to be identified from the footage." I asked: How was this conclusion made? Did PMP look at the footage which should clearly show the theft? Did they take the word of Cobalt who took the crank and then told Garett they did not? What will be done to make sure Cobalt / Jackson behaves properly in the future? I received no answers. When I gave Garett an opportunity to explain his side of what happened before posting on Yelp... instead of thanking me, he became defensive, refused to help further and stated I should bring it up at the board meeting. read more

***ZERO STARS*** Cobalt Security is completely worthless. They employ the most unprofessional, rude, caustic, arrogant, untruthful and egotistical people I have ever come across. I personally had a run in with one of the security guards in my area who refused to give me his name and stated directly that he wasn't there for the homeowners but worked directly for the HOA. Homeowners are not their concern with the exception of "what's your name and address" so that when a situation arises OUR behavior is deemed unacceptable or unsafe. This is the third security company that our HOA has hired and hands down the worst. A word of caution to other HOA's looking for security: anyone but Cobalt. read more

Colbalt security is a small company with maybe 30 employees in total. From my experience with working for this company I can say they are careless and unorganized. They do not provide the proper security uniform to their employees, and allow many of them to work without providing them with a Security Guard Badge. They do not re-assuure that all security guards have proper equipment/ uniform. (with only about 30 employees, you would think this wouldn't be an issue) Security guards are given NO training, they are just thrown into a job without explaining to them their job duties, emergency contacts, or explaining any protocol. The supervisors harass the employees. Only giving negative feedback and never appreciating what is done. Even when a Security guard is faced with a dangerous/ potentially threatening situation no one checks up on them. (careless) Nepotism is common in this company, many supervisors have relatives or are in a relationship with other supervisors. read more

I needed a security guard for an evicted tenant's retrieval of personal property after the Sheriff lock-out since I couldn't be onsite for the 7-hour time-frame. The issue was that I needed someone the next day and Cobalt was able to find a guard for me! Cobalt offers security service for a maximum of 4 hours. The security guard arrived on time so I was able to get back to work. He texted me periodically to let me know how things were going. He gave me an update when I arrived back at the property to take over 4 hours later. I would definitely use their services again read more

Worst security company ever. They claim that they are "committed to set a new standard in the security industry," but continues to have the worst reviews and hires the rudest "security guards." They drive around acting tough because they get to hand out "parking tickets," but when there's an actual situation going on, they are nowhere to be found. Horrible security service. Guy was dosed off in his vehicle. Granted we don't live in a dangerous neighborhood (westlake village) I'm armed to my teeth with weapons thank you (2nd amendment). Then he wakes up and he's trying to play it off as he wasn't sleeping. Obviously he awakens all scared and fearing for his life and his simple response was you didn't take my picture rigHt?? Cobalt Security sends a car into our HOA nightly to write "tickets" (that threaten towing) on vehicles without a parking pass. The guy assigned to our block is apparently not detail oriented, and has written numerous tickets on cars that do actually have legitimate parking passes displayed. My neighbor, who has also had bad experiences with Cobalt, told the guy he was not very good at his job. The response from the Cobalt guy was loud and belligerent which I could hear from inside my home. The Cobalt guy threatened to call the police and to report my neighbor to the HOA. My observation is that the Cobalt guy was poorly trained, and completely lost control of his emotions. Not a good look for this company. read more

One of the Cobalt Security cars pulled out of Villas at the Park community in Camarillo, cut us off, as he sped out on a right turn as we were driving straight. He drove off like a maniac down the road, aggressively. If that's how a security company monitors a safe and quiet community I'd be concerned as an apartment complex and as residents. I'm horrified and still shaking. I felt so disrespected today by Hunter the guard with Cobalt Security Services and coming onto Yelp and reading that so many others had a very similar experience just solidified it for me. I tried to call the company for support and got none . I am a mother with four children who drove 30 min out of my way to pick up my sister who was in a car accident and needed a ride. The Guard was so rude and wouldn't let me pick her up because I didn't have an ID I told him I needed to take my kids to school and that if someone could escort me to pick her up that would be so helpful. He refused said "I don't have to help you" then shut the window on me saying " I don't work for you" I had to turn around and leave my sister there with no ride and was late taking my kids to school . Now I'm driving all the way back she's walking with her luggage to the front of the community and I will have to pick her up from there. We're at such a sensitive time with all this chaos going on in the world and it's so hurtful when a human isn't kind or helpful when you need it just a very sad thing read more

I want to report in as much detail as I can recall from the negative experience I had with Cobalt Security at my gated community of Seabridge on March 2, 2021. This morning, my daughter's car had a parking citation posted by Cobalt Security because the "pass didn't match vehicle". At 8:50 AM I spoke with Ines at the gatehouse and said that the guard had inadvertently put the wrong license on her pass (my daughter occasionally drives her husband's car, but both are in the "system"). Inez was polite but said she couldn't do anything about it. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she indicated that her supervisor, Jackson, had just left on break and assured me she would give him the message and he would call me back. At 9:50 AM I called back, and a man answered. I asked who I was speaking to and he didn't say but asked who I was. After giving my name and address and password, he asked, "what do you want?" I again asked his name and he said "Jackson". I continued by asking if he had received my inquiry and he said "yes" and added he didn't intend to call me back because it was a "good citation that stands". I then indicated that both cars were in the system for my daughter. After verifying, he said "just tear up the citation as the guard had made a mistake". When I asked, "Is that all?" he responded, "yes". I said isn't something missing in this conversation like the acknowledgement of a mistake. He said he would have the guard who made the error call and apologize. I said I might "come by to see who you are Jackson, so I can put a face with the voice". He said he knew who I was as he had helped me with the chalk drawings in the alley. I said, "You mean you're the guard who told me to cease and desist from drawing with my grandchildren in the alley with chalk." Then Jackson abruptly hung up. If the details of the conversation with Jackson doesn't make it clear, I would add that Jackson was officious and neither friendly, nor helpful, nor apologetic for a simple mistake that could easily and amicably have been resolved. I expected better treatment/customer service from a company that is employed by the owners of the HOA. read more
