Karl's Plaques was so easy to work with. I called ahead to see if they can engrave a "Member of the…read moreYear" plaque for me. After speaking on the phone with Karl, the owner, for a few minutes, he asked that I email him the plaque so he can determine whether the job is doable. Karl indicated that he can do the engraving without a problem. I dropped off the plaque for Karl to work on. I called Karl a week later to see if the plaque was ready for pick up. Karl indicated that it was ready. The engraving was $6 plus some change. Such a good deal for the quality of work! Karl and I visited a bit and he showed me the other work he does. Karl enjoys personalizing his work. Sure, you can order from a catalog of trophies and plaques, but Karl prefers to build out custom-made pieces for clients. I like that Karl is passionate about his work and it shows in his enthusiasm. I will certainly come back for other engraving, trophy, plaque, etc. services offered by Karl's Plaques.

We spoke a lot about it and I was really excited that he had ideas and could help me with what I wanted. Two weeks later I went in. The woman who sort of helped was kind of.... lackluster. She showed us the ones with pictures, they all looked exactly the same and when I started talking about the different methods she started looking at me like I was speaking Greek. Got to speak to the original person, he had no idea what I was talking about. Then said maybe I spoke with someone else, like I'm too stupid to remember a name of who I spoke with. It was horrible to communicate with him because he didn't hear well, and one of his idiot coworkers was in the background having a conversation by yelling across the showroom with people. What a wasted drive down there. I will not be back.

I asked him when I should return and he said he'd be done in 15 minutes. 15 minutes folks! That's way faster than any place I'd called the Friday before. I just stuck around and he and I conversed about the pandemic, the direction our beloved country appeared to be heading, sports, gym stuff, etc. while he made the named tags. I paid him $20 + tax and was out the door in probably 30 minutes total if that. I see 3 awful reviews from the past so I assume they have changed ownership or management because my experience was leaps and bounds better than those who left the previous reviews!
