Loved working with Kenneth and his guys from Coastal West Painting! We had the whole interior of our house painted and Kenneth did an initial walk through and asked me great questions about what I wanted and answered my questions about color, finish, and options. On top of this, his quote was very fair and included a clear explanation of the job and some of the extra options I requested. The team did a great job and I'm so happy with the way everything looks! Thanks!! read more

Kenneth and his team did a great job painting a couple of rooms in our house earlier this year.

Years ago, we used CW to paint the interior of our home. We now hired them to paint the exterior; and they are still the same five-star quality company every step of the way. Kenneth is extremely accessible, a good communicator, and very helpful, including with selection of colors. The painting itself was top notch. I could not have asked for anything more; or chosen anyone better. read more

Coastal West Painting / Kenneth Greer were really great to work with. Kenneth is very clear. He answered questions I had with great detail. The work he and his guys did was fabulous. read more

Kenneth and his crew were terrific. Super helpful throughout the entire process. It was our first time getting our house painted, so Kenneth took extra time to walk us through everything and help us make decisions. The crew was friendly and professional and the work turned out great. Highly recommend! read more

Kenneth and his crew were awesome. Kenneth was knowledgeable, communication was great, price was right and the end result was just what we were looking for. Highly recommend! read more

I don't typically write Yelp reviews but I've got to put in a five star for these guys. They work so conscientiously. Neat, quiet and just generally all around nice guys. But ultimately the work quality and product are what matters and they went above and beyond with the prep, even doing stucco patching that other shops said I'd have to figure out on my own. My job included some fussy details and they nailed it. I asked for an extra detail (paint the electric meter box) at the end and they took care of it no questions. I've gone with cheap bozo contractors before and learned that you get what you pay for. Pay for Coastal West Painting, they're not even the most expensive and you won't regret it. read more

Kenneth and his team were awesome to work with. They were extremely kind and professional, and did a great job. He was helpful during the initial color tests, and patient as I changed color directions a few times before they started. He's a perfectionist which is an important trait in someone painting an interior, especially a complicated interior with a ton of wood trim! We also love the wallpaper in our powder room. Highly recommended!! read more

Kenneth came out to do our quote and I could tell right away that he knew what he was doing. He was professional, noticed details, had great suggestions and was a clear communicator. This was for an apartment and the owner decided to go with someone else but I would have had confidence in hiring them to do the work. read more

Coastal West Painting just finished painting the exterior of our small Albany bungalow and the experience was excellent, start to finish. Kenneth responded quickly to my initial inquiry, came out right away to take a look, provided a detailed estimate, and gave us an accurate timeline. The painting took about six days and came out really well (including some finicky trim). The crew was courteous, quiet, neat, and careful. Throughout, communication with Kenneth was quick and easy. Really, it is hard to imagine a painting project having gone better. read more

We had the outside of our house painted, and only wanted to work with Coastal West Painting because of the excellent job they had previously done on the interior of the house. They worked at the same superlative standard as before. They communicated clearly, worked both carefully and quickly, and they were eager to attend to any little details that we wanted done. You will be SO happy with the quality of work. We LOVE the new look of the outside of our home because of the flawless paint job. read more

Kevin and his company just got done painting the interior of our new home. Yay! It looks so good! I was a bit stressed out about color choices at first. It's a big decision! But, Kevin really helped guide us in the right direction. And, we're super stoked with the look! I really appreciated the attention to detail throughout the project. And, in general Kevin was super great about responding to all of my questions, and getting things going on our schedule. I will definitely keep Kevin in mind for any future painting projects. read more

Kenneth is responsible, reliable and responds in a timely manner. His bid covered all aspects of the work we requested and was very reasonable. Although he didn't paint our home this time around, we will definitely contact him in the future. Highly recommend! read more

Kenneth and his crew are professional, pleasant, and skilled. Any issues that arose were addressed promptly and effectively. Kenneth even returned when the job was complete to repair something that had not been part of the original project. I am very happy with the work they did! read more

Kevin and his team did a wonderful job painting the interior of our home. He was fairly priced, very responsive to my questions and calls, and provided feedback on color choices (a big and challenging decision!) His team - Kenneth, Enrico, and Mario, were careful and thoughtful in putting everything back in place after moving it around for painting. We love how our home turned out and recommend him for any of your future projects. read more

Coastal West a Painting just finished our house. Kevin was easy to work with - responsive, open to feedback. Pablo, Lalo and Enrico were kind, hard working and had great senses of humor. I love the attention to detail. I highly recommend them. read more

I had my cement stairs stained, the several story rough finish exterior plywood done with a heavy body stain and some unexpected and expected repairs from rot. My deck has lots of spindles. Kevin noticed all the ones that were iffy and replaced them, greatly improving safety. His bid wasn't the lowest but close enough for me to feel well treated. This is a honest, professional, focused service that I recommend without reservation. What a guy and what a team. No mess (my neighbor is fussy when it's her place and my workers but not the reverse, unfortunately) with cleanup on a daily basis. His advice was always right, I found out... and when I didn't follow it at first and then changed my mind, he pleasantly performed the change to what he'd said all along without making me feel foolish. Now there's a thoughtful fellow. Kevin B's. knowledge is broad, with great caulking and other prep work. I wish I knew him when I had my place painted 20 yrs ago. The difference in quality is startling from that paint job. I have learned through the years and also from watching Coastal West Painting's performance. Kevin does a lot of the finish work himself so the quality control is superfine tho his team is excellent, literally never careless, and with great attitudes. If there was some little detail that needed attention, they got right on it without complaint. Sometimes this was without my having noticed the need in the first place! About the only thing I can say is that NOW IS THE TIME (due to weather) to have INDOOR work done... by Kevin, owner of Coastal West Painting. read more

Kenneth was great to work with. He painted the interior of my condo at Watergate in Emeryville and followed all the HOA's picky rules without any complaint. Colors turned out great and the condo looks beautiful. As so many others have said, highly recommended! read more

I love my house! Kevin worked with us to find the perfect color to compliment our street, homestyle and landscape. I considered over 8 base colors and ended up with the first color Kevin recommended. I waited over 5 years to paint my house and am very happy with the quality of Kevin's crew. You get what you pay for and the job was worth every penny! read more

Professional and flexible with my schedule Coastal West Painting did an outstanding job painting my place. It is older, and has a lot of various trim and wainscot, To make it challenging there have been many different repair and remodels over the decades. It seemed very challenging. Kevin, of Coastal West, fully explained the various options to deal with all of this. Together we agreed upon a very workable plan. My schedule was tight, and he was able to juggle his a bit to do the job in the time I had available. That was a big relief. Lastly, and maybe most importantly, he gave me a bunch of good tips on how to come up with colors that both I want and which would compliment the place. It all come together perfectly. I highly recommend getting a quote from Kevin at Coastal West. Coastal West does great work. read more

I called 2 painters to meet me, at a home we were not yet living in, for an estimate. The first 1 never showed up. I found Kevin and Coastal West on yelp. And he was there on time and gave us an estimate. I had no clue what colors we were going to choose but had some ideas. He was able to help in choosing some colors. Once we signed the contract, Kevin was able to start and finish the project in the short time that we had. The work was extremely professional. We even had an issue with the bedroom windows and blinds. We had a small gap between the window and the wall and he was able to fill the space! The work was awesome. Probably a bit more expensive than others but reliable. Their work was very detail oriented and worth the extra money to not have any hassle! read more

Kevin and crew are superb. Easy to work with and he and the crew do a fantastic job. He's done big and small jobs for me for over 7 years. Truly a joy to work with. read more

I cannot recommend CWP highly enough. The job kept changing as we were working with our landlord, and the budget was not entirely clear. Kevin came over several times (on my schedule) and worked with us, explaining options to save costs, and working with our priorities. We planned to have the work done while we were on vacation. We returned to a fantastic job - attn to detail - and a cleaner house than we left! Kevin was very concerned that we understood what would be done, what was done, and that we were happy with it- very impressive. read more

Would give 6 Stars if I could. Coastal West is AWESOME. Here's why: - Prep was fantastic - Kevin spent a lot of time working with me on different color options for both the shingle stain and the body/siding paint. He provided some clever photoshop mockups, then came by in person multiple times to present different combinations and make color adjustments as requested. "Above and beyond the call of duty" is an understatement. - Kevin's super communicative, easy to work with, fun. - Pricing is not the cheapest in town, but I can't emphasize this enough, you get what you pay for and this cliche is so true when it comes to this sort of work. Kevin's pricing was better than 2/3 of the bids I saw and I think his quality is the best. So, I would work with Kevin again in a heartbeat. He's got a fan for life in me. read more

Money well spent! I couldn't be happier with the job Coastal West did on the interior of my house. This was the first time I ever hired a pro to do the work and im glad I did! Before the paint went on the wall Kevin made me aware of many different visual perspectives on my color/placement choice I wasn't taking into consideration. If you ask, he will really give you some great input on your job...you feel like you're in a "This Old House" episode. lol, seriously. His estimate was dead-on and the work was totally pro. I have rounded corners in the house, the painting lines were so perfect it now looks like ninety degree corners! Had I done the job myself it would have taken four days and not looked half as good. Do yourself a favor, don't be cheap, let the pro's do it for you. It's been two weeks now and im still starring at the walls every time im in the living room! Great Work! read more

Ken just finished a great job in my house. We needed a new coat of paint in our living room, which included a set of built in bookcases that I had built from scratch and installed over several months. His rates were reasonable, service was friendly and professional, and he went out of his way to make sure we loved the room before he considered the job complete. My bookcases ended up looking beautiful and better than I had imagined. I will definitely hire Coastal West for any other painting work we need in the future. read more

My wife and I hired Kevin, owner of Coastal West Painting, to paint several rooms in our house when we moved to Alameda. The job he performed was top notch, and easily exceeded our expectations. Kevin was prompt, professional, and knowledgeable. His estimate was both competitive and comprehensive. Above all else, we were extremely pleased with quality of the workmanship and the level of cleanliness throughout the entire project. I highly recommend Coastal West Painting, and will gladly use their services for all of my future painting needs. read more

If you are looking for a painting contractor that shows up on time, does a professional job (he repaired small things like the trim along the base board and sealing all the cracks in the ceiling/walls) and completes the project in record time (he painted our 1 bedroom apartment and kitchen including inside the cabinets in less than 3 days), then call Kevin. We originally called 3 different painting companies for an estimate, however we decided to go with Kevin because of the reviews he received and they are much deserved. We especially appreciate that he came by after painting our place to help us get the windows unstuck. In addition, he was understanding and reasonable when we didn't realize the painting of the apartment didn't include the trim and eventually, we worked out an agreement and were able to get the trim painted. He also helped us stay within our budget by having us do some minor prep work. Our apartment looks so much better, fresher and brighter....we highly recommend Kevin. Oh yeah, and he's super clean. read more

Kevin from Coastal West was helpful, knowledgeable, timely, and did an EXCELLENT job on my property. He helped select a much better color pallette than what I had in mind, and the end result is just awesome. The work is very high quality, and Coastal west took great care to protect the unpainted surfaces. They even modified some trim in the kitchen to help me replace a non-standard oven with a modern unit. I'll be using their services again on the house exterior. read more

Coastal West Painting has done both the entire exterior of my house and a significant job in the interior. They are awesome! Some of the very most professional contractors I've worked with of any kind. Kenneth is a perfectionist, and also quietly and very neatly gets the job done. He was very patient as I wanted to adjust the colors. I am relocating out of the area but if I were staying here, I would never use anyone else! read more

Kevin and his 2 painters did a wonderful job. They spent a lot of time putting paper on the floors, moving and covering the furniture, and fixing the cracks and holes in the walls before painting. The wall and trim painting was excellent. I especially liked how Kevin left a few of his color swatch booklets at our house so we could take the time to pick out the colors we wanted. read more

Coastal West performed fantastic work on our home. The house looks beautiful, and we are so pleased with how it all turned out. We appreciate the crew's efficiency, professionalism, and skill. Kenneth's warmth, ease, and availability were the basis of this whole project. His help, feedback, and guidance on our palette selections led to a successful color choice. If that weren't enough, Kenneth heroically completed the work in time for our family celebration--the house was a beautiful backdrop to our party. read more

We just had our 1920's two-story home painted and we were extremely happy with Coastal West Painting. They were very responsive and helped us a lot with the color selection as well. The entire crew was easy to work with and were careful and professional. We had a number of last minute changes and decisions as the work progressed and they took care of them all quickly and easily. The house looks great - we would highly recommend Coastal West Painting. read more

I'm very pleased with the work of Coastal West Painting. In June 2014, Coastal West painted the exterior of my two-story house, built in 1907. It needed routine surface preparation, no special repairs. Kevin was helpful in choosing colors, discussing my choices and adding his input, but letting me make the ultimate decision, which I think was greatly improved with his guidance. Kevin and his staff were easy and pleasant to communicate with. Staff were respectful and careful of the property while working on it. I appreciated Kevin's willingness to answer my questions and, in regards to two missteps, he was extremely honest and quick to make corrections. For that alone, I would gladly do business with Coastal West again. Also, their price was very fair (I had gotten three quotes). Very good quality work for a fair price. I would glad do business with Coastal West again and will keep them in mind for future painting needs. read more

Great job, both interior and exterior. Flexible with the timing and prompt when times were set. Kevin was also very helpful with color selections and connecting us with other contractors necessary for some pre-painting repair work. Kevin painted the exterior of our house and did a terrific job. He and is crew were timely and professional, always neat and available to answer questions. We gave Kevin our sample colors and he suggested some others and it wasn't until he was almost done that I was congratulating my wife on picking such good colors that she reminded me we actually chose one Kevin's suggestions! He's got a great eye so listen to what he has to say. We specially like he is a licensed contractor and lead certified; keep that in mind if you have children in your house. Our house looks great and we couldn't be happier. read more

We recently had the exterior of our two story craftsman painted. We are very pleased with the job Coastal West Painting did. Kevin was great. His estimate was reasonable and he gave a five year warranty on the work they did. Even though stairs are not included in the warranty, we had some small issues, and Kevin came out and fixed the problems himself. The crew was careful not to get paint on anything besides the house, and left the yard spotless. Finding the right painters can be a problem, so I highly recommend Coastal West Painting for anyone with a project out there. read more

Kevin and his team did a fantastic job for us! We needed both exterior work done and several interior rooms. Kevin was able to work with our schedule and stuck to his timeline. He gave us some very helpful tips on trim/ceiling color and we are extremely happy with the result. His team was courteous, professional and took remarkable care with our furniture and possessions. They not only ensured that everything was well protected during the prep and painting, they took great care in putting it all back together. We had several areas that needed significant repair work done on old plaster/lathe walls, I honestly can not even tell where those repairs were now that it's all painted! We had no surprises between Kevin's original estimate and final cost. and his original estimate was fair and comprehensive. We are sooooo happy with our home now and the work Kevin did for us. No question, we will use Kevin and team again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a high-quality, easy-to-work-with painting contractor. THANKS KEVIN! read more
