I bought my home in the summer of 2024 and during the inspection was told, very matter‑of‑factly,…read morethat I had maybe one--possibly two--good summers left before the pool would need resurfacing. Spoiler alert: that prediction was spot‑on. The black algae that had been lurking in the decades‑old plaster started popping through like an uninvited guest who really doesn't take a hint, no matter how hard I tried to fight it. After a summer packed with great pool parties (worth it), I decided winter was the perfect time to handle the pool glow‑up. So I did the responsible homeowner thing: I got quotes. Five companies later, I had prices ranging from $8,500 to $20,000 and a surprising number of "optional upgrades." One vendor even offered to put a turquoise tortoise--yes, an actual mosaic tortoise--at the bottom of my pool for an extra $3-4K. Did I want it? Absolutely not. Do I adore the phrase "turquoise tortoise"? Absolutely yes. In the end, I chose Waterscape, mostly because the pricing made sense, and the communication was quick and easy via text. My only real goal was simple: resurface the pool, update the tile, and keep the whole thing under $10K. Mission accomplished. They sent over a DocuSign, gave me a one‑week December timeline, and the whole thing ran like a well‑oiled (and extremely punctual) machine: Monday, 9am-12pm: Full demolition of the old plaster Wednesday, 9am-1pm: Tile installation Saturday, 9am-12pm: New plaster poured And just like that: Brand‑new pool! After that, I stuck to the four‑week maintenance plan--daily brushing, treating the water, and absolutely zero heating of the pool or spa. Now that the curing period is done, the hot tub is officially back in action. Overall? Five stars. Smooth process, clear communication, no turquoise tortoises forced upon me, and a pool that's finally as ready for summer 2025 as I am.

Jose the owner was most helpful and followed the progress of the remodel and responded to questions. Go to the office where they have a pool and can see pebble samples and tile in the water. Many recent experiences with construction and frequent delays, none with this company. Highly recommend!!

Throughout the entire process, JB Pools met--and often exceeded--my expectations. They worked with me as much as possible and were always professional, responsive, and respectful of my time and home. Leticia did an excellent job keeping me informed on the schedule, which was completed on time, and Jose consistently provided progress updates whenever I asked. That level of communication gave me real peace of mind. I'm extremely grateful for the quality of work they've done on my home. To be honest, at one point I seriously considered filling the pool in with dirt and figuring something else out. I'm so glad I didn't. The end result is a beautiful pool with a brand-new deck, and I truly couldn't be happier. A huge thank-you to Jose, Leticia, all the Antonios, and the rest of the crew. Their hard work and dedication really show. I highly recommend JB Pools!

I was told that your response to the repair was that you don't do repairs and that it needed to be repaired before services would be reinstated. My review was on the lack of repair options, now if she misunderstood that's her/our fault (see I'm holding her/us accountable). No need to try and air out something that I already said we didn't own up to-payment. If you can make it out on Wednesday you'll get your fee and I'd like for you to provide a quote on repairs, if not, thank you for your service and best of luck in your business.

Our experience with Mike Poireir and Sun Country Pool and Spa was NOT good! Our first contact with…read moreMike was back on early March 5, 2018. Mike seemed very knowledgeable when it came to pool remodeling. He made some suggestions on what we could do to improve the overall appearance of our remodel, which my wife and I thought were great ideas. A few other companies we looked into didn't go that far during our initial meeting for a quote. Mike mentioned he had a great rating on BBB website and he was licensed and bonded, which was extremely important to us. On March 13th, we chose Mike to move forward with our pool remodel. However, he did mention he was taking a 2-week vacation and would start our remodeling job as soon as he returned. "No problem," so we thought... A month passed by without any contact from Mike. After numerous texted messages to him with no response, on April 16th, he finally responded back. He stated he had a death in his family but was back in town and ready to start our remodeling job. The lack of communication during this waiting period made us think twice about using Mike, but family is important so we stuck by him. An additional two weeks went by and on April 28th, we met with Mike and signed a contract with Sun Country Pool and Spa. We provided Mike with the deposit and we also asked him to order a specific Pentair Intellibrite COLOR Pool Light, which he agreed to order and install, per the contract. At this point things went downhill. Three weeks passed before the pool was drained on May 18th. Mike apologized for the delay...A few more weeks later the plaster demolition was done. After an additional three weeks and numerous texted messages the tile & stacked stone was finally completed (around June 4th). He apologized again...The first thing we noticed was he installed the wrong stacked stone. When I contacted Mike to inform him it was the wrong stone his response was "the one you guys picked out was discontinued, so I just pick what I thought would be best". He never called to get our opinion and only told us once I called him after the stone was already installed. My wife and I were both furious and expressed this to Mike. Of course he apologized, yet again and we moved forward with the job. On, June 9th the pool was plastered and the pebble stone was completed and it looked good; However, another problem we noticed was the 2x2 we requested to be installed around our jacuzzi and pool entry stairs were not installed! I called Mike and once again no communication! He mentioned the tile store was out of the 2x2 tile, so he had the plaster crew to move forward without it. Again, he never communicated this to us until after we brought it to his attention and of course the job was already complete! The crazy thing is we had left-over 2x2 from the initial tile installation that he could have used, but at this point there was nothing we could do. On June 10th, Mike and another guy came to acid wash the pool, clean up all trash and debris (which they failed to do), install the Pentair Intellibrite COLOR Pool Light and start filling pool with water. We provided Mike with the final check and off he went. The next day I went to my local pool store for chemicals and explained to them what upgrades were done to my pool and they mentioned that the pool light Mike installed would not work. Mike did NOT order and install the correct light I requested! Once again he failed to communicate with me and installed the wrong light! I ended up spending $600 for the part we initially requested him to get in the first place. I had two neighbors inquire about using Mike's company for pool upgrades, but after my horrible experience I could NOT recommend him to anybody! He is dishonest and doesn't communicate (at all) and after weeks of waiting for him and his crew to come back (never showed) to collect the debris and trash they left in my backyard I ended up paying someone to clean it up! I have all texts messages to back up my experience with Mike Poireir and Sun Country Pool and Spa. Wished I would have backed out a long time ago, but we were already in too deep...DO NOT TRUST his kind and friendly demeanor!
