I understand that local businesses are forced to charge more...you think customer service would be better with a local company. However, that hasn't been my experience here. More Walmartish. There are exceptions of course, but by and large the customer service could be better. I've always asked for a military discount, since I qualify and the cashier always says, "yes". I've yet to receive one. At first I felt it was simply a training issue, I now suspect it's something else. Selection of items is ok. Overpriced for the most part. Sad to say, it's worth driving further to get better service, selection and value. I'm a local product; been in the area since 1973. Not a Californian. read more

A couple months ago i had a 30 minute wait for a prescription to be filled at the QFC Pharmacy that is right next door to Coastal. I decided to walk over in order to just browse and waste time while my meds. were being filled. I spent about 15 minutes in the store looking at pellet guns as i was thinking about buying one in the near future. I then walked up near the front of the store, where i came across about 50 baby chics. in a large living enclosure. I watched them run around for about 3 minutes or so before heading back over to QFC. I was sitting outside the front of QFC for about 8-10 minutes before 2 employees from Coastal came walking up to me and asked me to empty my pockets. I asked them "Why?". They said that they had reasons to be "suspicious" of me, and asked me again if i would empty my pockets. I now regretably did, even though i knew that i'm not legally required to do so. Mind you, i was literally wearing a thin, plain white t-shirt and pajama pants, that were also thin and barely hold anything without slipping down. I pulled out my truck keys, chewing tobacco and my wallet. They were both apparently satisfied and walked back to Coastal. I don't have proof, but at that time (not anymore), i was dealing with an unkown medical issue for the last year and a half where my appetite was about 80% gone. As a result, i was 40lbs. under my normal, healthy weight. I believe that the reason they came over to me was because they automatically assumed i was a drug addict. I, again, have no idea what they thought i was apparently stealing since i had such thin clothing on. After picking my prescription up from the Pharmacy, i walked back over to Coastal and asked for a manager in order to (hopefully) get one of the employees' names for this review, as i knew which employee it was that found me "suspicious" since he was working in the section where the pellet guns were being sold. About 15 minutes later i was able to talk to one. I asked for the name of the employee that worked in the section i was browing. He told me his name was ALEX. I told the manager what went on and that i would be writing a review about my experience as soon as i got back home. I ended up letting this review slide. Well, my Mother just went into Coastal a couple days ago and bought me a $50.00 coat and a couple $20.00 shirts. I intentionally didn't let her know what had happened that day since she was on vacation at the time, and i didn't want to upset her. I asked her if she minded if i returned the items the next time i needed to go to town. She said "Ofcourse not, i don't mind at all". Yesterday was the day i went back to town, and to Coastal. My brother had removed the tags from the coat, as he had mistakenly thought our mom bought it for him instead of me. The employee told me (even though i had the reciept), that she would only be able to refund the 2 shirts since the jacket didn't have the tags on it. She still refused after i explained why the tags were missing and that it had never been worn. Not even 1 time. That was it for me. I then vowed to myself that i would be writing this review ASAP, and would never again be giving Coastal a single cent to them for as long as they remain in business. My mom shops there, and spends a lot of $ for our family during Christmas time (and in between), every year. She told me "Not anymore". Not after the way they treated me. We will now both be spreading the word to friends and family about what happened in hopes that they also no longer give a single cent to this business anymore read more

Called ahead of time to ask about picking up a firearm and asked the staff if it would be ok to come in close to closing since i work late and was told yes for sure so I drive 40 min to get there 40 minutes early just for once I get there the manager was flustered and flat out told me he can't do it right now so close to closing and was even so rude about it the staff listening apologized for him and called him out saying that it was bs read more

Kept seeing ads on TV for this place, marketing it as the go-to place for camping supplies. My friend and I stopped here and it's a farm/tractor supply store. Nothing for camping. We got a good laugh out of it. Talked to a clerk who told us that they've seen those ads, too. Had never heard of this chain before this. Looked like they had a lot to offer for those areas they had, but nothing we wanted. read more

This is a great place to shop and get your RV propane tank filled. Friendly staff who know what they're doing and can help.

At checkout, there were two floundering old cashiers, one was obviously new to the job (took over ten minutes to ring someone up), the other was an uncaring woman more concerned with taking her break. There were 12 edgy people in line to check out, and the break-focused one kept sending people away. The "manager" came out briefly to help the newbie with something, then retreated back into his cubby, never to be seen again. Customer service is not the focus of this business. Terrible customer service. It seems every time I have come in here over the past year I regret it. There never seems to be anyone to help in the store, especially when needing to purchase locked items. After my experience last week with attempting to return some T-Post attachments I purchased here I will never return again. Not only was the staff unwilling to help me, the woman whispered to the manager, "Ugh, this is a nightmare." Not what a customer who has spent upwards of $6,000 at your store over the past year wants to hear. WTF A) he never offer to be 'that person to accompany me' B) he cut off the Female employee who was trying to help so he can Scold Me. All time favorite store!!! we recently moved out to sequim/port angeles from Poulsbo and we're regulars at Tractor Supply in Silverdale. We didn't know about Coastal and so glad we stumbled upon it driving further down past downtown sequim. It's like a triple sized tractor supply! So happy we have this store near us now. Whatever you need farm wise. Feed, implements, tools, hardware, fishing, hunting, clothes, boots, even grills and wood stoves too!!! Unbelievable. read more

Poorest selection in men's pants sizes ever. They have plenty of pants for big waist like 44. But if your average say 34-35 then forgettaboutit!!! Go somewhere else, Amazon, or Offerup. I was looking for the Carhart double front or logger pants (B136 or B73) models. I checked the entire store on different days and not one pair of waist 34-36 was available in any color. Darn for my daughters looks for pants This is total BS coastal!!! Yeah I talking to the coastal management people who never come out of their office to speak to customers. oh, i did fine one pair with a discoloration and they gave me 10% off but they would not combine it with my military service discount. Love going to this store- so much stuff. It's too bad some of the ppl working there don't know what they are doing. My husband ordered apart for our wood stove over a month ago- he paid for it before it was ordered. About 3 weeks go by and he calls to check in it. No one can help him. Calls again, the guy tells him he will look into it and call him back. Never happens- then my husband calls again and finds out it won't be here for another month. Finally my husband gets a call today that it's in. He gets it, brings it home and it's not the right size. Don't order things from the hearth department. read more

The people who are working so hard during corona virus fears deserve a medal. They have to do more work because of needing to keep out of the public space. All the workers kept amazingly positive attitudes, were extremely helpful to everyone, and were just generally kind, caring human beings. I really like this store. The endcaps are interesting, the hardware is really well stocked, the straw hat selection is out of sight. I think the tack/horse dept is as good as it gets....customers shop for grain and feed by selecting a descriptive card from a shelf which is scanned at checkout for the carryout crew to handle...innovative! Jimmie the store manager is helpful and fun to visit with. The only reason I don't give the Sequim store a 5 star review is because the outdoor farm tool section is restricted access. If I am going to invest several hundred or more in a larger purchase I probably am going to walk around it, and check it out without a chaperone after several visits. read more

They did right by me yesterday. I'd purchased a small animal trap from them sometime in the last year. Two squirrels got out of it recently. The final draw was when the third one got out in the van while driving.Yikes! They traded me a much better trap even though I didn't have the receipt. I was very pleased. read more

Bad customer service. Everyone I've talked to going in there has been either rude, or condescending, or unwilling to work with me on anything. It takes several repetitions of questions to get any information out of anybody. The inventory is diverse, but the clientele kind of ruins it. read more

We're from Wenatchee, WA so we know what to expect from a Coastal. I must also say that I work at said Coastal two years ago and greatly respect the company. With that said I know the standard that each employee is held to. The layout was every similar so it was easy to access. They had a very nice selection of clothes, feed, farm, supplies, guns, and everything in between. The gentleman at the gun counter was very friendly and nice to talk to. There was a young lady who was in the animal health department who was nice to talk to. She was able to answer every question I had about the rabbit they were selling. However, my experience was great until we went to check out. A person from my party was making a purchase and I noticed the casher did not greet us. A customer who had bought clothing had beeped on the way out. They turned around because they knew a tag had not been de-magnetized. Keep in mind that this was not our cashiers customer. She leaves her register to chance after them while the transaction that my party was not finalized. I can actually see on the her register that she had not finalized it. Well, my party begins to leave and I stay just to make sure that everything had been paid for. When she returned, she just glared at me and I asked "Are we good"? She very rudely said "They paid, you can leave". No "Thanks for coming in" or "please come again". She might as well had said "get the f*** out". read more
