Drinks came out quickly and were good, and we put in food orders. Since we all got some sort of BBQ, the orders came out quickly. I love a good Salad Bar, but this trip none of us wanted that big a meal...either with the Salad Bar, or just the Salad Bar...etiher is a decent commitment if you're going to do it right! At any rate, our food came quickly and was very good. I got a Fried Onion Brisket Sandwich. The brisket melted in my mouth and the combo of flavors was great! My brother got the Pulled Rib, and my wife got the Pulled Pork...both were very good, though my wife said the pulled pork was a bit higher in fat for her slightly delicate system this time around (she's had it before), but was tasty nonetheless. Service was efficient, polite and friendly. Very casual atmosphere, but booths, tables, and the bar as options. Some quiet corners and lots of space out in the open. Definitely worth a try!!

The bartender was our server and did a good job. You can order from the Happy Joes/Rudy's that is next door, or you can order off their bar menu of sandwiches, etc. I think the only difference is how you order - if it's off the bar menu the server takes the order, otherwise you call over to the neighboring restaurant and they deliver it. Two of us got cheeseburgers...they were pretty good-a nice soft bun and a good burger. Fries were OK. The other in our party got the chicken fingers. They were fine, with very nice tender chicken, and an OK coating. Our server was attentive and very pleasant.

Good bar selection (especially if you like bourbon of course), and great drinks and service. Food came out quick and was reasonably priced. My wife got the Pork BBQ sandwich, which was stacked VERY high with slaw and onion rings. The bourbon sauce was crazy good, and the whole combo was fabulous. I got the Philly Cheesesteak which was also great. Gooey, tasty cheese, and delicious veggies and meat. Both our sides, the baked beans and macaroni salad, were very good. By the time we left (about 6:15) it was pretty packed with families and others all chowing down. Ample TVs and a fun vibe.

With allocations being what they are and varying widely from state to state I looked up a nearby liquor store there in IL to see what was on the shelves. The good. They had Weller Antique 107 and EH Taylor Small Batch on the shelves. Something we don't see often in Iowa. In fact that's the first Weller Antique 107 I've ever seen in the wild. It was really hard to walk away from that one... The bad. The price. $150 for the Weller and $100 for the EHT Small Batch. I left both for someone else... Secondary on the Weller should be around $100 (MSRP is $60ish). For the EHT $80 would be a decent secondary price (true MSRP is $55ish). We did pick up some beer to take back to throw in the hotel fridge... Staff was friendly enough.
