With allocations being what they are and varying widely from state to state I looked up a nearby liquor store there in IL to see what was on the shelves. The good. They had Weller Antique 107 and EH Taylor Small Batch on the shelves. Something we don't see often in Iowa. In fact that's the first Weller Antique 107 I've ever seen in the wild. It was really hard to walk away from that one... The bad. The price. $150 for the Weller and $100 for the EHT Small Batch. I left both for someone else... Secondary on the Weller should be around $100 (MSRP is $60ish). For the EHT $80 would be a decent secondary price (true MSRP is $55ish). We did pick up some beer to take back to throw in the hotel fridge... Staff was friendly enough.

Pretty much empty, but the bar looks really neat and the bartender was lovely. She chatted us up and strongly suggested that we come back for the Thanksgiving dinner Rosy personally cooks for her patrons. The smoking porch was great, and there was a pool table and a Touchtunes Jukebox. We were happy to hang around for quite awhile.
