Today I had the pleasure of stopping by Coach's Roadside BBQ and meeting coach Dennis himself. Aside from the great hospitality you receive from coach and the feeling that you're just hanging out at a family bbq surrounded by love ones, this man knows how to bbq, dare I say grill master.
For me there were many highlights. The ribs were a meaty slab of deliciousness stung with perfect spice seasoning, bronzed with smoke and slathered with sticky sweet barbecue. The meat is tender, but not too tender, with a profound pork flavor enhanced in a way that only a grill master can.
His bbq sauce is one of a kind, you wanted to dip everything in. When you were left with nothing left to dip, you just wanted to dip the cleaned bones in and just lick it off.
I got two sides the Mac and cheese and cornbread. The mac and cheese was perfectly bbq style, simple seasoned, and smothered in cheese. A nice compliment to the ribs.
Now although I want to give all the credit I can to Coach, but the cornbread is made by his wife Debbie. And I have to say you don't want to miss out. Usually cornbread at a lot of bbq spots is an afterthought. Often dry and needed some flavor. Well rest assured Debbie knows what she's doing. Perfectly sweet and sticky on the crust, something your pallet is just waiting for after licking the bbq ribs dry. Please don't miss out.
Definitely worth stopping by. It may not look like much in the outside, but believe me this place packs a punch. And if you get the pleasure to have a chat with Coach Dennis, then you certainly will have a one if a kind experience. Good people, great food, overall amazing time! read more
