The one in Griffith Park is huge and well maintained, with several play structures built for children of all ages and abilities. I went for a playdate the day before Christmas Eve, and was pleased to find easy lot parking on a Monday morning during winter break. My four-year-old had a blast with his little friend, running around and jumping into sand. They also rode their bikes around the surrounding bike path, and found their way to a cool slope near the merry-go-round that was perfect for burning kid energy. My two-year-old had a great time, too, and all three kids enjoyed going on the zip lines (this was not my favorite activity, as it involved lots of adult attention). There was a fruit cart on site for some healthy snacking, and plenty of places to sit. We stayed for a good two hours, only leaving because we had to eat. It was a pretty idyllic L.A. morning, and I look forward to taking my kids again.

Once it has a larger climbing in jungle gym apparatus set up then the other half. The swings are sort of divided. Half of them I just a seat while the other half are the entire enclosure for a child that is much younger. The park was kept nice and neat. There's no excess trash or anything falling or spewing out of the trash cans in there is anything flying around the yard. It seems like a pretty popular neighborhood park. It's a real small one but it's perfect for a little kid like mine who just needs to kind of get out some energy and get a little exercise. It was nice to you to be able to sit beneath the tree and some shade and watch my little one have a good time playing.

The times here vary though, on weekdays I think its about 4pm-8pm that fellas play and on the weekdays its very different. I would say Saturday maybe from 9am up until around 5pm and on Sunday its about 3pm and onwards. For the most part the court is kept up. Guys arent too dramatic there so you can usually catch a game pretty quick.

I wanted something that have an uphill, but she didn't feel like. The park is small, has tennis/pickle ball courts, a playground with soft matting, picnic tables, and benches throughout the park for resting. I liked the outdoor exercise equipment; I tried most of them and what an exercise I got. If I live nearby, I will come here every day instead of paying for a gym membership. Public facility on site, clean, fully stocked, and bright - unlike many park restrooms that are dark and smelly. Parking is easy, with spots both on the street and inside the park.

Dear Park Management,…read more I am writing to express my serious concern regarding an incident that occurred today at the children's splash pad. A woman brought a large dog into the splash pad while it was full of young children. The dog was running through the water, drinking from the splash features, and playing alongside the children. As a parent, I did not feel that my child was safe in that environment. Another visitor politely asked the woman if she could take the dog elsewhere, explaining that this area is intended for children. Instead of respecting the concern, she became confrontational and contacted a park employee. To my surprise, the employee allowed the dog to continue using the splash pad. I find this decision extremely concerning. The splash pad is clearly designated for children ages 12 and under. It is not identified as a dog park or a pet play area. Parents bring their children there expecting a clean, safe, and hygienic environment where kids can play in the water. Allowing dogs into a children's water play area raises several important concerns: * Hygiene and sanitation. Dogs can carry dirt, bacteria, parasites, and other contaminants on their paws and fur. Children frequently touch the water, rub their eyes, and sometimes accidentally swallow the water while playing. * Child safety. Even well-behaved dogs can become startled by loud noises, splashing, or unexpected interactions with children. A playful or frightened dog can unintentionally knock over or injure a child. * Public health. Many families, including mine, reasonably expect that a children's splash pad is maintained primarily for children's use, not shared with animals. This is not about disliking dogs. Many of us are pet owners ourselves. It is about maintaining appropriate boundaries between designated children's recreation areas and spaces intended for animals. I respectfully ask that you clarify the park's official policy regarding animals in the splash pad. If dogs are currently permitted, I urge you to reconsider this policy in the interest of children's health, safety, and hygiene. If dogs are not permitted, I ask that the policy be consistently enforced by park staff. Parents should not have to choose between letting their children enjoy a public splash pad and worrying about whether animals will be allowed to play in the same water. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and hope this matter will be reviewed carefully.

North Atwater (Village) Park we finally properly meet…read more I've passed by a lot of the years, but when bae suggested a late morning/early afternoon walk through and around the park I was all in. There's lots of greenery and scenery being next to the LA River and La River Bike Path as well as The 5 fwy. This Los Angeles Public park on Chevy Chase Drive has some unique design and landscaping throughout, not to mention basketball courts, baseball field, volleyball courts, playground, benches, picnic tables, restrooms and plenty of space to enjoy a day at the park. The path that runs along the river is often horse active with stables nearby and easy to follow. Other animals and wildlife in the area especially ducks in the river. It's definitely a little big park, so parking is a bit limited in the main lot, but you can also park along the fencing off Verdant Street as well as in residential parts nearby with limited restrictions. There isn't much light here when the sunsets so I believe this is when the park is closed (hours listed as dawn to dusk - 6am to 6pm roughly). Pretty cool hidden park gem.
