Coach Eve set me up to successfully run my first marathon this year in SF. In our three in-person sessions, she helped me improve my cadence and fix some weaving issues, provided me with tips to help with the hills, and set me up to mitigate injuries throughout my training. She was super helpful in answering the many questions I had along the way, and the training plan she created for me was perfect. Running a marathon has been a bucket list item for me for many years, and I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to do it. Coach Eve provided a training plan for my first marathon, and was helpful and supportive throughout the process. The exercises along with the timing of the running workouts seemed to help ensure that my knees stayed strong and stable and pain free. She also got me to understand what it really means to run at an easy pace on the long runs, to know the science behind why that's important, and quickly I came to enjoy running at the conversational cadence. I like to run short distances at a slow pace a few times a week as a regular workout. I hired Coach Eve for a few sessions to work with me on getting back into running postpartum. I was having difficulty getting into any sort of regular running routine because I kept developing shin splits and had some knee pain. Coach Eve did a detailed gait analysis and helped me understand how to tweak my running stride and posture to avoid injury. She also taught me some drills and a warmup routine, and recommended shoes specific to my gait. She takes a research and science-backed approach to her coaching, and is very knowledgeable about all sorts of studies that inform her coaching style. After a couple sessions with Coach Eve over a few months, I just finished my strongest run since before I got pregnant and I did it without any pain, which felt incredible. I've been running for 7 years including several marathons and even one ultra on both road and trails but had been having trouble improving in the past couple of years. I decided to break down and get some remote coaching assistance to see what (other than more miles), I could do to improve. Eve helped me adjust my strategy in 4 key areas to dramatically improve both my enjoyment of running as well as my performance: 1. Running Diversity: I was already running 35-40 miles a week, but Eve had me spend half that time doing more than just logging miles: tempo runs, hill intervals, lactate thresholds, VO2 Max ladders, and pace practice runs to improve the effect of my mileage each week. 2. Strength Conditioning: While I have a membership to a gym, the conditioning exercises she recommended could all be performed at home with a single exercise band. Four unique workouts scheduled either on an off day or in conjunction with a shorter run to improve leg strength, and workout core and related muscle groups to improve form and endurance on longer runs. These varied based on upcoming race profiles to focus conditioning those areas that would have the most impact. 3. Longer Tapers: I was scheduled to run 4 more marathons over 27 weeks, so the calendar was tight, but adding a more gradual 3 week taper instead of my normal 1 week and insisting on a full 6-7 days of post-race recovery before starting up training kept my legs fresh and ready on race day as well as injury free throughout the season. 4. Pacing Strategies: Based on the elevation profile, course conditions, and weather forecast, Eve provided specific hydration, nutrition and pacing strategies to help on race day. Before getting coaching, I had never run an entire marathon (typically walking portions of the last 3-5 miles) but it's an incredible feeling to execute a perfect pacing strategy and cross the finish line after running the entire time and knowing you left everything out on the course. I underestimated how much impact race day strategy can have. The three marathons I had coaching assistance from Eve were my three fastest races (including 2 all time PRs). Focusing on the most impactful recommendations and having them tailored to my specific situations created an opportunity for a huge jump in performance within a single season. I'd recommend using a coach like Eve if you're either new to the sport or experienced but looking for a way to break through to a higher performance level. read more

Want to give a huge shout out to Eve. I had 3 lessons with her all focus on forms and injuries prevention. She went straight to work and told me what I could approve on. From warm up, cool down, core, strengthen exercises, she was effective and asked me to do drills. She also found out that I had couple weaknesses like gluteus maximus and hips so she asked me to pay close attention to that. I am glad that I found her because I am been getting PR after PR and I might actually put efforts and try to get BQed (My main sport is road cycling). I've never been much of a runner and I started training with Eve almost three months ago. I'm so pleased with the progress I've made in such a short time--she's such a wonderful and supportive coach! I started training with Eve about a year and a half ago. She took me from barely being able to run 3 miles to training for a marathon. During my first half marathon she met me at mile 11, when I really needed some encouragement, and ran with me for a while to see how I was doing!
