DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. service is quite poor. It is hard to call them. They do not answer. The scheduling is terrible and they upsell you on the packages, which you should not pay for. The instructors are fine, but it is the company, the user interface, the website, and the communication. Not good at all. It is hard to follow their website or use their portal. I do not recommend. there are many other great competitive options that do not charge you for school pickups and that leave you with one instructor the entire time. Another example of their utter awfulness would be the email reminders they send pre-lesson which automatically say "scheduled in West Boylston", whether or not the lesson is, which results in confusion. I had an awful time with CMSC. They cancelled appointments on me and didn't inform me. They are impossible to reach either on the phone or by email. I learned more about driving by watching fast & furious than wasting my time with these people. I started getting my license when I was 15 and now just got it at almost 19. I'm on Cape COD. It was hard getting driving hours. Then I paid extra for them to take her thru the driving test. After she failed, they ghosted her. I contacted them about retaking the test with them and if I needed to pay again. Never heard a word. E-Mail came back undeliverable. Left a message, no one called back. I was a pretty good (I hope) driver for a decade and then I had a brain injury and gave away my license as was told I would never drive again. I attempted to get my license back with CMSC years ago and lessons went great, and I even had my road test scheduled...but I then had a complicated medical procedure and this set me back a long time - I didn't think I would ever get my license again, but I got clearance to try with CMSC again and Alex was my instructor. Overall he taught me a lot of stuff I needed to nail on the road test including acronyms and safety checks, and I felt pretty confident after 6 lessons for my road test to get my license after not having a drivers license for 5+ years. Yesterday, I got my license! I couldn't thank CMSC enough for giving me this boost I needed to truly jumpstart my life again and I am very excited to drive again and feel safe to do so because of what I learned from CMSC. read more

We purchased a full package for my teenage driver, which includes 12 road lessons and 6 observation lessons. However, it is like pulling teeth to get a driving lesson scheduled. I called multiple times in January, and we got four lessons in February, 2 driving and 2 observation. This week, I need to call to schedule lessons for March. I called on 2/26 around 9 am, no lessons AT ALL for the whole MARCH, and I was told the scheduler will not be there until 10:30 am, but they will call me back. I did not get a call back, so I called again on 2/27. They told me that they have not scheduled the lessons for March yet and told me to call later. Well, 2/28 is the last day of February, I called the third time, and they told me they only have Observation lessons on 3/4, including slots at 2:30 through 5:30 pm. Some how, they already gave out all the Driving lessons for March. If a parent has to call three days in a roll and still could not schedule ONE single driving lesson for the WHOLE month. If it is not a rip off, I am not sure what to call it. read more

My friend and I went today to help her practice her parallel parking (both are/was cmcs students) she has a permit and I have my license anyway as I was given her tips on how to successfully parallel park some CMSC instructor came up and ask "are you a student here?" I gently replied with a "yes" then she said in a impolite/rude tone "well you've been driving here for 2 hours" I don't know how she knew that because we were there before her with NOBODY AROUND us. She also proceeded to say "you gotta go in a circle" in a rude way. I just felt disrespectful and rushed for no reason as someone who spent a good chunk of money in this establishment I did not appreciate the way I was treated and spoken to I didn't get her name but she was a blonde caucasian lady. Anyway the moral of the story here was her rudeness and impoliteness as someone who's been here many times to practice weather it was the crack of dawn or and pitch darkness with or without an instructor. I've near meet a rude lady like her. My friend and I don't have the resources like everyone so when we have a chance to drive we try and drive she ruined our whole day thank you rude lady. read more

I'm rating my experience a 1 star because I went for my driving lesson today and was completely rushed, I never once felt like my instructor was there to help me pass. I made my own mistakes that I know I need improvement on but there's no need for an instructor to yell go go go and rush me as I'm trying to pull out onto a main road safely. Other than that the people who do road lessons are pretty friendly and don't make you nervous whilst in the car. read more

There are many motorcycle instruction schools in Massachusetts to choose from and Central Mass Safety Council (CMSC) Auto school was the first one with availability. Although I didn't find any motorcycle class reviews, the driving school has many positive reviews.  I signed up and took the motorcycle safety course at CMCS school on July 22 and July 23, 2021. Although crotchety, my instructor was experienced and knowledgeable. Sadly, he did not impart his knowledge in a way that gave students confidence. In fact, he was determined to weed people out. Short tempered and ill-natured, I can say whole heartedly it was THE WORST learning experience I have ever had.  My nervousness was met with callousness and impatience. In fact, at one point I nearly dumped my bike and I was very shaken and upset. He strode over and threatened me with "one more mistake like that and I'm going to kick you out of the motorcycle course". Needless to say, my confidence was shot for the rest of the session and I did not pass the course. While he said I could take the course again free if I talked to Rob the manager; however, even free of cost, there is NO WAY on God's green earth that I will voluntarily be in the company of CMSC Motorcycle instructors. I would prefer to find another company and pay $300 again rather than spend one more hour with those instructors. The other instructor that afternoon seemed as bad or worse, as the whole class could hear him yelling at the participants both days and even my instructor was dismayed! I am not a careless young person. I am a middle-aged professional, educated, woman paying a company to provide competent leadership in a course that costs $300. I did not expect to spend two days getting upbraided and rebuked. I can take some yelling but the threatening and toxic masculinity was awful. I hope the owners will make some changes to the atmosphere there, but until then I recommend signing up elsewhere. It's not just your money, it's your time. read more

Trying to schedule appointments required constantly checking the portal to hope something opened up. There were never a lot of options to choose from. My son did all his appointments plus extra time with us and he had done great all along. The day of the test he failed. We were shocked. After waiting over an hour to even take the test because they were so behind, he had to do one of the maneuvers. The instructor felt he got too close so hit the brake. But my son never actually hit anything and completed the maneuver perfectly without needing any adjustments. He finished the rest of the test flawlessly and excitedly finished thinking he got his license. But because the brake was pushed he then learned he actually failed. Had the person been paying attention to what he was doing and not been chatting away with whoever was in the back seat during the test, she might have realized he was actually fine. Then we heard the next few behind him failed as well. When we went to reschedule the next test we learned it was a minimum two week wait but their next appt was 6 weeks away! That's a long time for an eager teenager who had no reason to not get his license that day. I choose CMSC because home pickup was listed as an option for lessons. But that was never an option. I have two other kids to go through driving school eventually and I will absolutely not be sending them here. read more

This is the most incompetently run business I have ever dealt with. They take classes of 30-40 kids, then cannot accommodate them for actual in-seat driving time. It takes several MONTHS to schedule a few hours of drive time, and they will only schedule 2-3 weeks out, so you need to be calling almost daily to try to get on their schedule, and that's when they even bother to answer the phones. 3 Months since my son took the initial class, and he has had ONE drive time. I will be finding another location for the rest of my kids. I will add, the instructors (my older son attended here as well) were great, however, the office staff is awful to deal with and make it not worth the aggrivation read more

I got the Adult 3 Road Lessons (1 hour) classes for $285. It got me to where I needed to be & what I had to focus on to pass the road test on my first try. Instructors were experienced & knew how to get students at ease. Thankful to Mr. Jake Cooney for all the helpful tips that he posted online regarding the road test as well. It is very difficult to book driving lessons. They say they add new lessons every few days. I check all day and don't see this happening. I am very disappointed. It will take months to finish driving lessons. In addition, I tried to get in co race with someone in the office. I waited on hold for over 10 min. I was told that I was #2 in line, only to be connected to leave a message. Again, no one has ever replied to my emails or called me back after I gave my money and payed for lessons. Prior to committing, they called me back right away. Extremely poor customer service. read more

The class for drivers ed was good but scheduling drive times with them is a nightmare. It's been 7 months and my child has only been able to do 3 drive times. Most of their slots are during the day when teens are in school. We were told they had spots that could pick her up at school and drop her back there but I have never seen an open spot at her school. You have to go on their site every few days when they open up more slots to see if you might be lucky enough to get one in an after school time. I was able to schedule one during school vacation but then the rest of the week is blocked out so she can't do more than one. To make this worse, the last time she went for a drive her instructor berated her about how it had been too long since her last drive time and told her not to bother to come back if she couldn't be committed to come more often!! She left her lesson very upset. It's not her fault that she is in school during the day and scheduling is close to impossible. If I could I would start over somewhere else to be honest. We might have to just for her to be able to get her license by this summer. read more

I want to start and say my first 2 boys went thru and had no problems. Getting licenses 1st time thru. Now problems start with the 3rd which in my opinion is a better driver than the other 2. Rides dirt bikes and snowmobiles and understands better. The school itself is fine but the registry guy from Sturbridge, wish I knew his name. This guy was an ass on the driving test. Basically failing my son for going too slow as if that is a thing (being safer). I feel it makes the school look bad when you can't pass the 1st time. They need to police these registry guys. They have too much power to fail if they have a hair across their ass. Heard from another girl that 2 of her friends failed earlier in the morning. That isn't right at all. Now fast forward ahead 15 days and my son passes just fine with a different registry guy. This is just my personal experience which I am sure others have had. I think the state should just give you your license after all the driving and then you have an hour lesson at the end to prove you can drive. What does the 15 minute test prove if the registry guy has a god complex and can fail you (no questions asked) kicked out of car and can't speak for yourself. read more

I've had severe driving anxiety since I first attempted to learn to drive. Now I'm nearly 20 years old and am nearly done with my driving lessons at CMSC. CMSC has been outstandingly patient, understanding, and thorough teachers. I have never once felt judged for being older than the average student, and my driving skills have exponentially improved. I'm set to take my license exam in August, and I'm confident that CMSC has taught me well enough to pass with flying colors! read more

The classroom and parent class were acceptable. However, it's next to impossible to schedule on road lessons. No guarantee you will get road time in your school or town. You basically need to stalk their website on a daily basis to find a time that is convenient. It's a first come , first serve basis. My son took the course in April, and nine months later, he still hasn't completed the road lessons! Nearly impossible if your child plays sports or works. I paid in full December 2019, he started the class in January. Taking the class was not an issue. It's August and I've only been able to schedule 6 lessons since the classroom. I took driver education through the CMSC and have zero complaints regarding my experience. The instructors here are knowledgeable and kind. Scheduling lessons is a cinch using their online system, Schedule 2 Drive. The classrooms are clean and organized, and all of the cars are kept in meticulous shape. I put off getting my license for years due to an irrationally strong fear of driving. The people here were more than willing to work with me until I got the experience I needed to pass my driving test, which I did on my first try. Avoid these idiots!!! After finishing his drivers ed classes there, I scheduled a road test for my son. On the day of the test, we showed up on time, then waited for 45 minutes for his exam. My son got into the test vehicle, then got out a moment later, telling me that he was not on the 'list' that the Registry needed to give him his road test. I went back into the school, asking why he was not on the list, and the instructors there said that they must have forgotten to tell the registry that he was scheduled for this time period. I showed them all the documents clearly stating the time and place, but to no avail. I wasted an afternoon because of these incompetents. This was not my first bone to pick with these people. They sign up too many students, with the result that you can never find a time to schedule a road lesson. It actually took my son almost two years to complete his road lessons because we could never find a convenient time. I am so mad at these guys right now that I hope they go out of business. read more

These folks are phenomenal! I had to retrain to drive with adaptive hand controls after i was no longer able to drive in conventional way. Living in a state where no Rehab driving training exists I found CMSC a few months ago. Starting Lessons, scheduling times were a bit challenge due to COVID but moved right along once underway. I have completed driver's education with CMSC this past summer and have completed my road lessons. I have absolutely no complains on any of the instructors I had, appointment booking was reasonable for me. I suffer from terrible anxiety and I appreciate how each instructor was very understanding and easy going. I have passed my road test Thursday which I did at CMSC and all I can say now is how appreciated I am for this journey. I chose the best, reliable company, and you should too! read more

Been there many times for road lessons and road tests. I had been with 2 teachers. Both of them were friendly, trustsome, honest, direct and knowledgable. They taught things in an easy manner. For example, they asked you to turn the steering wheel all the way to one side before moving your car in parallel parking and 3-point turn while other driving school may told you to roll the car while turning just to save the tires. They actually focus on teaching you how to drive rather than pass the test. In the first road test, my first teacher stressed me out during one-hour warmup as he thought I left too much space away from the curb when parking along the curb. He told me that rmv examers would fail me one million times if I parked like that. In fact, the examer did not even mention about this problem but I was stressed out and forgot other things. Hence, failed the test. My second teacher, Bill was way better in turn of emotional management. He was so calm and patient like a monk. He gave lots of encouragement and we also drove to highway and busy downtown even though he knew our road test would be there (the road test happened in the route near the school). I felt like I knew new things each time even though I am ready for road test for a while and felt more confident. He would told me honestly if he felt like I did not need to come for lessons any more if my skill was ready. One downside I can think of is that I had to call them and usually left a message for road lessons appointment, and then they will call you back within next business day. I usually had to wait a few weeks for lessons. Also, I had to take at least one more lesson before I could re-take a road test and they normally had one or two road test per month near their school. All of those made the process long especially for people to book their own road test in rmv but just to want they to sponsor a car and a teacher. The other issue was that they used Nissan Sentra which is a bit harder to maneuver than some of compact cars especially during the parallel parking. read more

Disappointing! For the kind of money they charge, you think that they would offer something better than what you end up getting. When my daughter was finished with everything, she took the so-called advanced driver training which was a farce! Really just a 5-minute skid lesson, definitely some major corners being cut there. Then we were told that they would be a 3-month wait to get into a road test, which I find absolutely ridiculous. We are now in the process of trying to find another way to get a license for Kaitlyn, and not very happy about having to go through this. read more
