I ordered a chain last year with a wait time of 3-5 months. It's now been over 7 months with no chain and no update as to when I'll get it. I've emailed them numerous times asking for updates, and they just mention delays and then recently just stopped responding altogether. I've probably tried calling 20x and they have never picked up the phone one time. I'm not sure why they even have a phone number listed. The price of gold has gone up 25% since when I bought it, and it's also reflected in the price of the same exact spec chain that I ordered on their website. They are clearly stating that there's delays and just hoping people cancel older orders, so they can fulfill new orders at the higher prices. If gold prices were coming down, I'm sure they would be cranking these out within 2-3 months. They are playing with gold price arbitrage and scamming people. When you have mild OCD about certain things you tend to research the crap out of purchases before you make them. With larger purchases, this is magnified. So when I decided I wanted to purchase a Miami Cuban link chain in rose gold to match my new watch, I established certain criteria. I wanted something handmade in Miami by one or more Cubans. I also wanted a company who did everything themselves without outsourcing anything. Keeping that in mind, I started my search. Watched lots of Youtube reviews, poured over Instagram posts and carefully examined pictures of chains made by various companies. I ended up narrowing my search down and decided to go with CMG for a few reasons. First, they matched my initial criteria, Cuban made in Miami. Second, their quality looked to be unsurpassed and third, they really only make one style of chain. And you have to figure, if someone is making the same thing over and over again for 30 years, they have to be pretty damn good. I've read where people complain about the wait and yeah, it did take the better part of six weeks but we're talking a piece of jewelry here that I plan to keep for a hell of a long time so waiting an extra month or so wasn't a real concern. They're also not the easiest to reach by phone and it usually takes about a day or so to receive a reply to email but I'm here to tell you that if quality is your main concern and let's face it, it really should be your only one, look no further. A few words to help with your selection. 7mm is about as wide as you want to go on a necklace before approaching rapper status. Anything larger will look very in your face. Bracelets can be larger but you still want to be cognisant of not going over the top unless of course that's your intention. 25" is about the minimum size you can go if you want to be able to take it off and put it on without undoing the clasp, so that's what I went with. Also, gold is really heavy. Before you go order 18k or higher understand that you will feel the weight on your neck and it can get uncomfortable when worn for extended time periods. I'm so glad I went with 14k because at almost 105 gms, I'm not sure I'd want anything heavier. Anyway, do all of your research or just take my advice as someone who did so extensively, send them your money, be patient and what you'll get it return is something very special and nothing short of perfection. Their instagram page shows their craftmanship and final products at work, which is nice to see and you realize you're supporting a small business during this time. Was told it'd take 4-5 months due to limited staff working BUT to my pleasant surprise, got my package via fedex after 2 months waiting. Totally worth every dollar and penny I spent, this thing is very smooth and shiny, got compliment from folks who saw me wear it. I give this company one star. First off, the chain is great quality with great workmanship. The customer service prior and during the purchasing process was decent. I didn't really have any issues. However, when I received my chain, there was a scuff on the flip lock I reached out via email, almost immediately expressing my displeasure with that. I went in to get the scuff buffed out and polished. In person they were pleasant and made it seem like my concern was important. Merdado attempted to rectify my issue, but needed more time. He said he can have it back to me in three weeks it took over three months close to four months in total I did not have my chain. Mind you all for a scuff on the flip lock. Yohanka was the voice for the company and wasn't prompt with response or professional for that matter. In fact, I had to hound her to get updates as she would not even respond at times. Bottom line is, if you want a nice chain (which is a dime a dozen to come by in South Florida) with abysmal customer service and over a three month turnaround on a simple fix. I was really excited to purchase from CMG Links, the quality of the items that I saw online coupled with the fact that the items were handmade by a family owned business really sold me. Bummed that I had to cancel my order after waiting 20 WEEKS. To preface, current circumstances with the pandemic have impacted many businesses and I knew this would impact the timeline to completing my order. I was cool with that. What I did not appreciate was the lack of transparency throughout from CMG Links. After I placed my order with CMG Links (Jan.26) I was told it'd be completed by the end of April or early May. This didn't make sense to me since their initial quote said completion time was about 8-10 weeks (based on this timeline it should be completed by April at the latest). It was then explained that "8-10 weeks" is CMG language for 56-70 business days or 11-14 full calendar weeks. I was fine with this. At the end of April, I reached out to see how long my order would be delayed given the COVID situation. I received the following response from CMG Links: "it is not as bad as you would think since we have been working a few days a week trying to finish orders that were already in the process when all this started". I was told on 4/29 my order was next in line... I reached out a couple times after that but didn't hear back until 5/19. At that time, I was told my order wouldn't be ready until 5/29. 5/29 came and went, no update from CMG Links. Called in on 6/4 (because no one responded to emails) and was told my order, again, would be completed by next week. I was told someone would contact me to discuss shipping by 6/10. After not hearing back from CMG Links on 6/10 I decided to cancel my order. Initially they told me they couldn't cancel my order but ultimately ended up honoring my request for a refund. I fully expect that the only reason they issued a refund is because the chain still isn't ready. Price of gold has gone up so I'm actually losing money on this deal since I'll need to buy elsewhere at the higher market price. read more
