RACE has such a wide range of classes varying from art classes for adults to swim classes for children. The office staff is very attentive and provides a lot of information to inquiring visitors. My mom has taken a digital photography course to advance her photography skills as well as the Introduction to Reiki course years ago, which she highly recommended for me to take as it taught her essential massaging techniques that she still utilizes. Also, I recently enrolled my little brother into the karate class offered by the Recreation Department, and he loved it! I literally could not do short division... well, until I went to the Long Beach School for Adults. At the time (I don't know about presently), they had a math learning center for remedial dummies like me and they had the most kind, caring, compassionate teachers there. They saw I was red-in-the-face embarrassed that I didn't know this basic stuff (nevermind that I blew the English assessment out of the water) and they re-assured me that it was fine, this was completely normal, and that they would get me up to speed. And they did. I learned all the math I needed to know and now, I am currently a calculus student at the college level. :-) I'll never forget my experience here!

The school approved a 90-day leave agreement. However, around day 82, before the agreed period ended, the school contacted me and informed me that my program was being shut down. They also stated that I would not receive my certificates and that I would still be responsible for outstanding fees and payments, despite the program being discontinued before I could complete it. I would not recommend this school. As a nonprofit organization, they often experience delays in receiving materials, sometimes taking two to three months. The staff's communication with students is unprofessional, and they do not provide meaningful assistance with job placement after completion.
