This is an almost every week occurrence with these pleasant people. So our trash ends up being serviced 2-3 days after our actual service day. Waste Connections has once again struck again with poor customer service and company honesty…read more One year ago, our first interaction dealt with them failing to deliver our two trash cans after we purchased their service. They quoted us 4-6 weeks for the cans to be delivered so we went to the facility to pick up the cans ourselves. One year later my neighbor changed services to Frontier due to competetive pricing. After weeks of my neighbor trying to get his cans picked up they finally came and took his cans and took mine. I will caveat there was a clear separation between the placement of cans. We called Waste Connections to let them know they took our cans as well and once again quoted us 4+ weeks to receiver our cans despite it being their mistake. We told Waste Connections we wanted our cans delivered right away as this was not our fault and we would switch to Frontier since they offer lower rates and do bulk pickup in our housing area. Waste Connections offered to.lower our rate to $80 for 1-yr and deliver our cans the following day. It how now been a week and they still have not delivered our cans. I would urge future customers to beware of their lack of attention and customer service for their paying customers. We will terminate our service and switch to a service that clearly believes in customers comes first.

But I was tasked with helping family remove roughly a ton of non-recyclable material. If you possess the hauling capability and personal energy, this is a great way to save $400-$500 dollars. Instead of paying an exorbitant fee to have a trash company place and retrieve an industrial dumpster at your property, you simply go to the Mesquite Landfill entrance gate, have your vehicle weighed, and pay $175. You then traverse a circuitous path on dirt roads around, over, and into the landfill, back up your truck and trailer, and dump your unwanted materials by hand. It is that simple. Just remember that you'll need a truck, SUV, Jeep, or some-such vehicle with off-road capability. I strongly suggest bringing a mask, gloves, and eye protection, and to wear shoes and clothing that you won't mind parting with. I wore boots that, afterwards, I immediately bagged and gave to my local shoe repair once back in Vegas. If you have a weak stomach, this is not for you. Skip breakfast that morning for you will struggle not to vomit. The smell at ground zero of this or any landfill defies articulation. It is unlike any hellish sour stench you could possibly imagine: a general population beatdown and relentless gang rape of your olfactory senses, a miasmic stew of rotting roadkill scrapings, medical waste, retirement home diapers, slaughterhouse refuse, chocolated kitty litter, Diddy CDs, expired Frosty mix, Harris banners, and capped collegiate washouts who couldn't pay their bookies. It is a landfill in Texas after all, Hades' Anus, not the pastry case at Dean & Deluca in Manhattan. Thank god we did this in November and not July. The staff at Waste Management Mesquite Landfill were very helpful.
