I strongly advise against using Hood Arborist--not because they lack arborist skills, but because…read morethey do not run their business professionally or treat their customers with respect. I was left in a difficult situation when they canceled my project the morning it was scheduled to begin. I was trying to get this project completed before the start of monsoon. Full details below for those interested. I hired Hood Arborist to remove a large dead mesquite tree, which was planned as a two-day project. On the first morning at 7:10 AM, I received an email stating: "We will be arriving a little later than anticipated due to some scheduling conflict with one of our contractors. Pedro will be arriving at 11 AM to begin working." When no one had arrived by 11:30 AM, I texted the provided contact number for an update. I received no response. Then, at 11:46 AM, I got another email saying: "Unfortunately, the scheduling conflict with our contractor on this project turns out to be them pulling out of the project completely. At this time, we are unable to provide the removal service. We are so sorry for the huge inconvenience this causes. Our company is just not equipped to handle higher-risk removals in house. Our sincerest apologies for wasting your time." No phone call. No text. Just an impersonal email canceling the entire job. When I called for clarification, I was told that Hood Arborist doesn't own the necessary equipment for large tree removals and relies on subcontractors. In my case, their only subcontractor pulled out at the last minute--and they had no backup plan. At no point during the contracting process was I told that subcontractors would be used or that the company was dependent on them to complete the job. This experience shows a lack of transparency, reliability, and basic customer service. Proceed with caution.

Pedro and Tasha are awesome!…read more My trees were getting unruly, and I didn't want them butchered by a landscaper, so I asked for a recommendation from a friend: she told me about The Hood Arborists! I hit them up on Instagram, they were super flexible with the timing to come out and give me an estimate. Pedro is super knowledgeable about tree health and does a great job describing exactly what work needs to be done and why. I really appreciated his input on how to plan for the future health of the tree and what I can do to help it thrive. My estimate was super reasonable, and they knocked out the work quickly, and hauled off all the debris. They even went the extra mile by removing a whole stump when I'd only asked to kill the roots! My trees look amazing and I will 1000% be recommending them to all my friends, thanks so much y'all!

My family has utilized Karl's service in the past, I don't know what happened but his service has…read moreseverely been downgraded as of Summer 2024. We had an emergency with a huge tree and needed someone to take care of the removal along with some debris from the tree damage. We talked with Karl and he quoted a price that included removal of the complete tree, stump grinding, CLEANUP, removal of the debris; all at one cost. We knew it was a big job but he agreed to it and we assumed it would be completed in a week, even being patient and assuming even two weeks. He split the tree services (cutting the tree into pieces) into two days. Then the plan was coming back the next week to remove the debris/metal. It took them another week to get back for that. Karl was supposed to come back to finish off the CLEANUP (picking up the ground up root grinding they did early on and some broken bricks) but instead left it, saying he would be back and gave a day (Friday) that they would be back. So we scheduled for that time and even reached out NUMEROUS times to his phone and Message system. We left countless messages with out contact back. Friday came and went with no one showing up. Called a few times on Saturday until finally he responded. He finally called and told us we had some kind of miscommunication! We got it wrong. NO! It was Friday, it was planned, scheduled and he did not show up. He proceeded each time to tell us about other jobs he was on, and other trees that had fallen that he had to take care of, and were currently at. He seemed to go where the bigger jobs were instead of finishing one job up completely. Karl and his crew were supposed to finish the job, it is over a month now and it is still incomplete! (See mound of roots mess still left behind!) ****OH and today (a Friday morning) Karl and his crew showed up, unexpectedly, at 7:45 AM, to come and clean up!!!! Wanted us to give him access to the yard from the alley! He did not call, he did not make any contact with us to make sure we would be home and/or have access to the area, or if we were even available! Just unprofessional, and dishonest.**** Look elsewhere. We were as patient as could be and cut him A LOT of slack. Someone who takes advantage of people when they have an emergency crisis, is not someone I want to do business with.
