My husband and I booked a few days in advance of hiring this company for the second time in four months (we renovated our home and were living in a rental). We were quoted $163/hour for 3 men in July 2018 which was a little more than the $148/hour for 3 men we were charged in March 2018. Unfortunately the company pulled a major fast one on us and the third mover left within the first 15 minutes of the job starting. His departure was not communicated to us by the lead driver, Jay; rather, I asked what had happened to him. The response was that he had pulled a muscle getting out of the truck when they arrived at our rental house and that his sister had "taken him to the hospital for surgery". I asked about the rate we were quoted and Jay assured me that it would be "adjusted" which i assumed meant it would be somewhere closer to $105-120/hour. As an aside, the individual appeared to be in his early 20s and it top physical condition and was easily 15-25 years younger than the other two movers who were assigned. Upon reflection, it appears highly likely that the driver saw the relatively small size of the job and sent the young man away (perhaps a temporary worker as opposed to an employee) so that he and the other mover would benefit from working a longer day, at likely a higher rate of pay. Needless to say, my husband was flabbergasted when Jay told him that the rate for 2 men was $148/hour. The cost of moving in July was almost $400 more than our original move in March even though it was a significantly smaller amount of contents involved as most of our furniture and other items had simply been moved from the 1st and 2nd floor of our existing home into the basement. Furthermore, All-Rite blatantly over-charged us for 5 mattress covers that should have been $6.95 + HST = $34.75 but instead we were charged $61.60. When I contacted the owner of the company to ask for a refund, he advised that "I should call around and find out how cheap their rates are" and that he would not be reimburse me for anything. He then proceeded to hang up on me. We are pursuing this with our bank as we paid with our credit card and are in the process of disputing the charge with the expectation we will be reimbursed for the overcharge. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU AVOID THIS COMPANY AS THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!

But from the day the items were supposed to be picked up until the end of time we have had troubles with them. First of all instead of arriving on the day of pick up from Halifax, we get a call previous night from the transporters demanding to pick up things in the middle of the night, threatening us that they will leave and won't take our stuff, it was horrible. How do they expect us to arrange elevators and everything in an apartment building at 11pm ? Finally Sam spoke to the transporters and convinced them to pick up on scheduled date and time. Now for pick up, 2 people came in and were in super hurry, made my husband do all the work literally including moving the couch, the transport vehicle was a little truck from Home Depot and they some how fit everything. They left and reached in a day. We had requested our stuff to be placed in storage, the storage they chose was far away from our location we had given. We reached Toronto a few days after our items were dropped off at storage, we went to see it and realized more than half our stuff was missing for which Sam said other items are in another storage unit, and said he will move all our things into our unit. He did, I think and sent us pics, we went back to check and everything looked in order. Now on the day of finally taking our stuff back, we see our storage unit has 2 locks and Sam is AWOL, we somehow got access and now our mattress, dining table and some boxes are missing. Completely unacceptable. To get the second lock off because Sam had not been paying the storage we ended up paying extra money. Its been 2 months and we still havent gotten our stuff back and no response from Sam. Dont get fooled by them. We are in touch with consumer board for investigation and planning to file a police report too. If you're looking to move please do not take their services.

The packing team demonstrated a lack of care with our belongings and did not adhere to the detailed instructions provided. Their attitude suggested a reluctance to perform the job as required. Additionally, Emil was present during the move-out; however, he was unable to be of assistance due to being under the influence. Subsequently, we employed a different moving company for our next move, and the level of service and attention to detail was significantly superior in comparison to Burloak Movers.

That was 8 am. They eventually showed up at my condo at 2:45 and told me they hadn't had lunch and needed a break. I went in search of them at about 3:45 and they told me they had "loaned" the elevator to a contractor and he hadn't brought it back. I asked them to bring up furniture, but they brought up one box at a time to the 15th floor. All boxes were opened and upside down, with so much breakage. One carried in a boot try and asked me where I would like him to put it. They brought up the table but did not attach the top. I asked them to put the top on and they asked each other "do we have a screwdriver?" My Canadian made Casalife storage bed, which I had had customised arrived with deep gouges out of it. (I had wrapped each part of this bed in multiple layers of packing saran wrap, which they had removed. They put a double sized mattress on top of the queen sized bed and refused to change it out. I am an elderly woman and I had to drag the queen sized mattress out of one room and around the corner door into the other. I had a murphy bed, and as they were leaving they said it didn't fit in the elevator (which it did) and they left me with the worst mess I have ever seen. Nothing put together. So much missing. Outdoor furniture broken. I put a note on the murphy bed so the building would not dispose of it but didn't realize there were other pieces there which were disposed of, rendering my murphy bed pretty useless. They were in a big hurry to leave. Company is supposed to have insurance but apparently they don't like to make a claim. One of my garden chairs Jensen Jarrah wood, was broken and Martin "fixed" it himself. It no longer folds. Rob took a picture of a large box of broken dishes (all had been packed in different boxes) but nothing was done about that. Emil made and appointment to come and see me........I am still waiting! I have seen many bad reviews but they seem to disappear. Mostly the bad reviews are from single women, seems to me if there is a man involved things are done well. They told me they were going to fire Brandon (?), which was no help to me. Then they told me he was fired, and then they told me he had quit. However, there were three involved with this disaster of a move so the other two are still there. I was left in tears, moving furniture myself and seeing me treasured pieces in bits. I have moved many times in my 70+ years but this was the worst ever. Try Two Men and a Truck if you want honesty, efficiency and really good and pleasant service. Brandon should have read Braydon First part of my move from house to storage unit was great with Rob. When I booked 2nd part Martin said it would cost more and I said that was fine provided I had Rob and crew, he agreed but that didn't happen. I got the one with the rotten teeth who was quite nasty.
