If you want to get in shape...this is your place…read more I am legitimately terrified of the classes here, but I know with every fiber of my being that if I want to lose weight, feel great, and kick some ass, this is where to go. You can lose upwards of 500 calories a class and sometimes people tell me that and I look at them all skeptical...but there is no doubt here...at all. I can barely walk the three days afterwards. I am visiting from out of town this week and I needed a place to work out....b/c all I do is eat when I'm in Memphis. I just happened to find UFK online via martial arts search and I'm glad that I did. They just moved to a new location and the facility is very nice. I've been taking the kickboxing classes every day this week and...YES!! I'M SORE! The lactic acid buildup is fabulous. The bags that they use are muay thai bags - so they're VERY solid/hard....great for conditioning the shins (if you plan on using them as lethal weapons). Every class I've taken this week has been different - Tony and John shake things up, keep it interesting, keep you moving....and if you're not soaked by the end of class, you're slacking. They also do personal training and other martial arts. Highly recommended.

Ya girl legs feel like putty but I feel so amazing at the same time. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with great energy, music and smiles. Check-in was super simple and I was so happy to see my name on my locker! What a kind thing to do. They have special cycle shoes for the bikes but it's pretty easy to get the hang of them. Since it was my 1st time cycling, I was given a thorough walkthrough and hop on for class. The instructor was amazing. Since I was a beginner, I didn't have the full moves to do everything but now I'm motivated to keep going so I can improve. Never sweated so much in life while having fun! Take a class!

It was my first time in the studio and nobody acknowledged me until I said something. After that, my bike didn't work. The monitor wouldn't turn on and when we had songs out of the saddle, the bike made a click sound each time, which made me nervous to stand. Turns out, several of their bikes are broken. Why can't they mark them out of order so riders don't end up picking them? As much as I'd want to come back for another ride at this location, I don't want to play the guessing game of whether or not my bike will be functioning. That experience alone was extremely disappointing. Plus several people left in the middle of the class because of this situation.

Even when I'm complaining and asking how much longer until we're done, she just laughs and (even though she doesn't think so) makes the time go by quickly and pleasantly. Her workout was a bit intense, but the biggest thing is that it just kept going. You really get your workout here! We started off by signing waivers, and meeting everyone in the class, getting together to take a group photo, and then it was time for the workout. Lauren had a very nice playlist prepared that kept everyone motivated and energized throughout the full workout. There was somewhat of a warmup section that turned out to be the first round of the insanity coaching and led into the next few sections of the workout. I would recommend this class to any and everyone! Looking for something fun to do with friends and want to sweat and get everyone pumped at the same time, GO TO THE CLASS! She helped me walked through the signing in process, where to put my stuff and things I need to grab for the start of class. I would say the class is very beginner friendly and you are encourage the whole way through. My favorite part was the cool down with a nice cold towel that had some kind of calming scent. If you ain't afraid of breaking a sweat and want empowerment - Give them a try.
