i'm new to the Charlotte area and I googled upscale lounges to visit my first experience here I…read morequickly realize it is not a upscale establishment from sitting at the bar and watching someone bust down a cigar fill it with weed and smoke a blunt in the club, which I have nothing against anybody, who smoke however I don't expect this at a upscale establishment had I known this I would've wore something like jeans and a T-shirt however I dress up because I thought it was an upscale establishment. I am very popular back in my hometown maybe not for all good reasons. I come off as a whistleblower but one thing you will never call me as a liar and this last time I went to this establishment the DJ tried to throw shots at me as I'm walking through, which didn't really bother me as much because I don't even know who he is which I feel like it's kind of lame and childish and he's probably broke so I get it if I intimidated him in anyway I don't apologize about that however it's more than just about money cause that just says a lot about his character not mine so if you are a out of town and you're looking for a nice dining lounge experience, this is not the place to go. This is more for local if I had to guess I would say drug users so if you're not into that lifestyle, I don't recommend it. and although the food was good, I will never return back because of the disrespect from the DJ, which was unnecessary and very childish to say the least. hope this helps someone looking for a nice established lounge to visit. This is not it.

But really want to point out the staff and how attentive they were and how friendly they were. It was a cold night and they were efficient in getting everyone in safely and were knowledgeable when providing menu recommendations and setting expectations. The venue does provide a more intimate setting. There is more standing room than seating. So be aware of that when you book gen admission vs. any premium or VIP package that may be offered by the artist/venue.

Definitely would not recommend attending a show here. Getting through security was more adventurous…read morethan getting through TSA at the airport. We saw them take a Sharpie from someone. The guy even explained that he wanted to meet the band after and have them sign his poster. Too bad. They sent various other people back to their cars for other minor things too. It did not make sense or make us feel any safer. It just made going to a show feel like a chore. Once we were inside we all wanted to grab a beer. This is definitely not the place to do that! They had about 5 beers to choose from all of which I would never ever drink nor would anyone else in our group which is saying a lot because we all have pretty diverse tastes. All of the beers were like $18, even the garbage beers. I expect that price as we pay $19/beer at the hockey games but the arena offers a great selection. I'll pay $19 for a good beer. I saved lots of money at The Underground since they don't have any beer worth drinking. The bartenders at the bar on the left were not friendly and not interested in answering any questions. We ventured to the bar on the right and a few of us ordered mixed drinks.

I've been to a lot of indoor and outdoor venues in NYC and I was not expecting a super pleasant…read moreexperience when I came. My wife and I were very surprised to be proven wrong. We came for a house music show on a Saturday night, on the earlier side to check everything out. The bouncer and security staff were super nice - they were hospitable to everyone in the line as far as I could tell. They didn't really pad us down but we weren't wearing any baggy or loose clothes or had bags with us. I assume security eyeballs guests and makes situational calls. The inside was spacious and clean. The bathrooms were always attended to. The floor was a bit sticky initially but i think that was fixed before crowds rolled in. When some people spilled beer, the staff immediately came and cleaned. We felt safe with security staff in eyeshot. The music reproduction quality is OK; I think the crowd has a tendency to talk loudly and the volume should be balanced against that, but for the headliner, everything sounded great. Could use more emphasis on higher than bass frequency, but I'll take a solid bassline anyday. I did not feel the need to wear earplugs like some NY venues, probably due to the smaller size of this one. The lights are awesome, if a bit on the intense side since they are just above the stage, aimed at the floor. I would wear sunglasses next time to give my eyes a break. The bartenders were quick and attentive. One issue: they tried to swipe my chip-cards to open tabs (we tried a couple) and those were blocked by our banks for security purposes. Those cards should be chipped for payment gateway acceptance - hopefully the point of sale can support that. Closing each tab everytime worked fine, though, and the bartender did not embarrass us with the decline card response - we noticed others at the bar had the same issues. The outdoor space is super nice. Everyone was dressed casual but clean - and no one smelled bad or was unfriendly/aggressive. We will definitely continue coming back here for performers we like - please keep bringing in great house and techno producers!

This club is an absolute DISASTER, and management/security is a total joke. I've been here 20+…read moretimes, and I've never seen it this bad. While we were there, a guy was harassing my female friend for about 5 minutes with no security anywhere. A random male had to step in just to stop it, and then the two guys started fighting. Security didn't do a single thing -- WE HAD TO TRACK THEM DOWN OURSELVES, and when we finally found one, she was just standing by the bathroom doing NOTHING. The short female security with a white stud was extremely rude, clearly didn't know the policies, and took my vape even though I'm 22, not even letting me take it to my car -- something that's never happened to me before. Meanwhile, right after, I saw a dude hitting his and another group smoking a blunt inside the club. They pick and choose who they enforce rules on -- personally, I've gotten free shots from the bartenders while other people get punished. Speaking of shots, they're overpriced and barely poured the correct amount of liquor. On top of that, there's tons of underage drinking, with underage girls getting into the club with zero issue, and I even heard rumors about human trafficking connected to this place -- completely insane. I used to be a regular and loved this place, but after this level of negligence, favoritism, and outright danger, I will never go back. Management needs to get their shit together immediately, because this place is unsafe, poorly run, and a total joke.

I've been to The Fillmore before, but never bothered to sample some of the cool restaurant/bars within this complex. Tonight, my husband and I checked out 8.2.0. I just visited this club first time with a friend who asked company for the New Year Eve Countdown…read more He said there would be a buffet dinner and free champagne at mid night. That sounds great. I looked for a change this year as I was at Sheraton Hotel by the airport last year for the same purpose. Unfortunately, their TV broke and they did not fix it in time. Together with other guests at the bar, we did our manual countdown by watching at our cellphone. (Not much fun) Therefore, this year, I was looking forward something I coud really enjoy. We arrived Excelsior Club before 8:00pm to avoid long queue like some dancing places we went before. We were almost the first few guests got in. $30.- per person with no discount. (even I saw posters everywhere said member $20.-, guest $30.-) The place was already decorated. We ordered a drink from the cash bar and got a table. DJ was almost on time which was great. A long table at the entrance with some disposable set up (folks and knife, bowls) for buffet. Food was not served til almost 9:30 pm with only a tray of collard green and black eye beans and corn bread. Some guests could not wait any longer and started to get the food. A little while later, we saw a tray of fish crush (guests called salmon crush), a liver cake and sauage (all deep fried) ended up with a tray of scramble egg and grits, toasts and margarine and jam. I asked my African American friend if that was what a buffet in such style. He responded that was not classy at all. I ended up eating only my favorite collard green, black eye bean, two pieces of fish crush, scramble egg and grits. Obviously this was from outside catering (perhaps working as a side job to make some extra $$$) Not appealing at all. One point was even when we left at around 12:30am there were still food left, eggs and grits and toasts. I just imagined I was having fried chicken, meat balls, roast beef or ribs as their tradition. (Forgive me for expecting too much from $30.-) or perhaps they expect guests would have their dinners before they came. There was just DJs with no live band. A small glass of Champagne was come with the price just before midnight. Guests were enjoying the dance and the manual countdown with no big screen TV. The place was established in 1944. I believe there are dancers in other occassions. Perhaps a pot luck works better next time.
