The menu is changing, but it seems to be easier to read and cheaper for the consumer. While some menu items might not be offered, the current selection is still totally on-brand for the Bourbon Street franchise. Despite being stretched thin, they remained attentive and worked as quickly as they could between tables. As for the food, I ordered the Smokehouse platter with ribs, pulled chicken, and tri-tip, along with fries as my side and an order of pickle chips for the table. Unfortunately, the meats were quite dry. I had requested that the meat come with sauce, but it was served without any. That said, there were several sauces available on the table, so I'm not sure it would have made much of a difference whether it came from the kitchen already sauced or not. The beans were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The highlight of the meal was definitely the pickle chips--they were flavorful, crispy, and easily the best thing we ordered. Overall, the service staff did the best they could under what appeared to be challenging circumstances, but the food itself fell short of expectations.

The taco salad was very nice with excellent shredded breast of chicken and a fresh taco shell bowl - lettuce was like it was picked out of the garden and just freshly washed & served (very fresh lettuce, which is always a bonus)! Prices are reasonable and location and parking is super easy. Service was rough this visit: 35 + min for a taco salad (they were very busy inside, but the patio was not even at 1/3 capacity, so for those of us sitting on the patio we would have no idea that the inside was super busy). Clearly experienced waitress was apologetic about the long wait when finally serving my lunch, but having waitressed for many of my earlier years, I would've liked to have heard that there was going to be a long wait when I sat down (she said unexpected busy Labor Day weekend); I would've liked the option to have opted out, as I was traveling and was looking for a quick meal break (just my opinion, but it's far better to lay out timing expectations from the onset so people can decide if they have the time to wait [then to apologize for them after the fact, when people are already frustrated and wondering why the wait felt unreasonable]). Although I wasn't as thrilled with my service experience this trip, I will continue to visit and next time just ask the question about timing ;)

I was kind of in the aisle and felt like I may be in the way of people and staff walking by, but it worked out ok. Despite it being busy, we were waited on quickly. They brought out chips and salsa to start while we reviewed the menu. I ordered the chicken with shrimp that came with rice, beans and tortillas. My husband got the chili verde chimichanga with rice and beans. The food was fresh and the plates were hot. I really enjoyed my meal and liked the flavors of the shrimp and chicken topped with cheese and fresh mushrooms. I must have been hungry because I cleaned the plate. The beans were good, and had a sweeter flavor like I like. The rice was cooked well and did not have any undercooked crunchy bits. I would surely return again when I'm in the area.
