I've been taking my pets here for about 6 years now, and have had amazing care provided for my pets (dog and cats). My most recent visit (7/8/22) was great. The lobby was busy, but we were in a room within 20 minutes of our appointment time. Today, we saw Dr. Dhillon. My poor dog gets super anxious at the vet, and Dr. D (and all the rest of the staff) was very patient and accomodating to him. Everything from pets and treats, to having me hold him steady for his exam. He was also great with my very ornery cat. Recently moved to the Fresno area and needed a new vet for our two dogs. We made two separate appointments for our dogs on two different days, and both experiences were negative. First appointment: waited in the vet office for over an hour past the scheduled time. The doctor came and barely spend 10 min on the exam, and was mainly making jokes and not really doing a thorough job examining my dog. Second appointment: Same situation with waiting over an hour to be seen by the vet. This time, they ran costly tests on my dog without properly explaining beforehand how much the tests would cost. When we asked for a refund, they said no because our dog didn't have this type of test done on him before, so they decided it was fine to do. Very poor communication/customer service skills. The vets are incredibly smart and the staff takes great care of the pets. However, the only bad thing I'd have to say is when I was an intern here, I overheard one of the vet assistants (forgot her name but she was African American) refer to another intern and l, as the "B" word. I have been taking my fur baby, Shippo, to Clovis Pet Hospital since i first got him 13 years ago. From all of his routine checkups to the surgery he needed after being scratched by another cat and it getting infected, Dr. Fenster at CPH has taken such good care of him. I am happy to say my other two fur babies, Kippy and Nero, are also well taken care of at CPH. The staff is always friendly and helpful, service is always prompt and to top it off now they just a short drive away from my home. I am sad to say that I have been a customer here for many years. In the past I have had great service and caring for my 15 year old Chihuahua even though they were more expensive then other vets in the area. I was willing to pay a little extra to have the care they provided. I called this morning to get an appointment and was told they are booked for the next week and a half. Was not asked my name, my pets name or what my pets problem was. I am very disappointed in what this vets office has turned into. They are extremely overbooked and uncaring. There are not enough words I can say to explain the wonderful and amazing care that is provided at Clovis Pet Hospital. I first learned of the amazing Dr Fenster when my childhood Pugs needed some emergency services. Dr. Fenster goes above and beyond to take care of his patients, pets and owners. Once our pug was so ill Dr. Fenster didn't want to leave our dog overnight in the hospital, so he literally took our family pug home with him and our pug slept in his bed, receiving one hundred percent constant care and oversight. Now that I am an adult, I bring my own pets to Clovis Pet Hospital. I recently brought my 15 year old Norwegian Forest Cat to Dr. Fenster in an emergency situation, my beloved Cat Tiger was having breathing problems and it was confirmed that he had heart failure. My cat was suffering. Dr. Fenster spent over an hour with me. I was extremely emotional to say the least. Dr. Fenster took the time to explain all my options, all the possible outcomes etc etc. you don't feel rushed with Dr. Fenster and Clovis Pet Hospital. They take their time with you, because they honestly truly care. Dr. Fenster will draw diagrams, graphs, and lists to help make sure you understand exactly what is happening with your animal. Dr. Fenster not only cares about the best interest of your pet, but he also truly cares about people. He made it very clear how much he cared not only for my pet's well being, but he cared about my well being also. It was determined that my beloved cat was suffering and it was time to end his pain. Clovis Pet Hospital has a special room for end of life situations. It has a couch and lamps, it feels like home. This was so nice because I didn't want my cats life to end on a cold metal table. They let me have all the time I needed with tiger in the special room and they told me when I was ready they will come in and do end of life care. I was given the time to say goodbye to tiger in a peaceful, non rushed, kind space. I said my goodbyes and Dr. Fenster came in, only when I was ready, and my cat went to the rainbow bridge so peacefully. They have a special door you can exit from this room so you don't have to go into the waiting room while being so emotional. The staff couldn't have been better. They hugged me, supported me, answered any and all my questions. They sent me a sympathy card with tigers paw print in cement. Clovis Pet Hospital did every single thing I could have hoped for in a moment of such sorrow. I am forever grateful for their genuine loving kindness. Now, I have two new cats. I take both of them there and I receive the BEST care everrrrr!!!!! I especially LOVE the staff member Lexi. My pets are my children, and they understand that. If I call multiple times to check on my animal, they answer and are happy to check on your pet and give you updates. They are so kind. Not like other vets that act annoyed when you have questions and call. Clovis Pet Hospital is a 5 star concierge pet hospital with fair pricing! You will never, ever, ever, find another vet that cares more, gives the most up to date best care, and charges fair pricing like Clovis Pet Hospital. Once I even had questions about what type of cat to get, and Lexi was happy to help me with advice and answered allllll my many questions. I have been bringing my dog here for about 5 months. Let me start by saying that Dr. Fenster is very knowledgeable and has always been kind to my dog, his love for animals really shines through. My problem with the clinic is that unless you make an appointment and are paying for something, they don't seem to care. My dog is 8 months and naturally he has gotten into food and things he shouldn't. I found him chomping on avocado skins one day so I called in once to ask if avocados are bad for dogs and they didn't even ask how much he ate or how much he weighed just directly told me to come in. Well I did more research and made more calls and turns out he did not need to be brought in. Recently he had diarrhea for 2 days, I called to ask if I should watch him and all they would tell me is "do what you think is best" while other clinics in the area gave me great advice after asking what his stools looked like and more follow up questions. I realize maybe for liability purposes they don't give advice over the phone but it really just seems like their goal is to book appointments regardless of the acuity of the complaint when sometimes pet parents are just looking for some reassurance about the situation. These are not the only issues we've had with them but this post is long enough already. Let me say I used to work at a vet clinic as a tech/receptionist and our vet never had a problem giving out her advice where appropriate while always leaving the option of making an appointment as she did not believe in charging people unnecessarily. We have taken our Golden Retriever, Poppy, to Clovis Pet Hospital since she was 10 weeks old, she is now 9 months. Poppy has received her shots there, her spay there and has been treated for giardia and ear infections. We have seen both Dr. Fenster and Dr. Brandt and both have been informative, patient and kind. Dr. Fenster especially focuses heavily on educating his patients (well, their owners), which I highly appreciate. I never feel like my questions are seen as an annoyance and each doctor has been willing to give me time to ask questions and seek thorough knowledge regarding Poppy's various health situations. What I have been most impressed with, however, is the love and affection Poppy has received upon each of her visits from the front office staff and the vet assistants. It may seem like an odd thing to notice or appreciate, but it calms and reassures me so much to know that when I take Poppy in, I can trust the people I am leaving her with and who are treating her. They are individuals who truly love and care for animals and want what's best for them. I actually look forward to our vet visits because it warms my heart to see Poppy receive so much love. I can tell Poppy knows where she is when she visits the vet, and she too enjoys her visits. She wags her tail and she eagerly greets the friendly faces that greet her when she comes through the door. Furthermore, just going to a place that has kind, patient and thorough people who take their work seriously is a rare treat these days. Took my cat in for blood in her cornea, all they did was confirm it was blood in her eye. They gave an ointment, and said she must've been poked in the eye or something. No other testing done. Fast forward 3 weeks, and the blood has returned. I took her for a second opinion at another local vet. They immediately ordered full labs,urinalysis, and took her blood pressure. She has heart disease (blood pressure high enough to cause the blood in her eye) and stage 2 kidney disease. It would have been nice to have been able to start treating her 3 weeks ago!! She now requires a special diet and medication. Maybe next time a senior cat comes in with blood in their eyes, they will do an actual full exam. Even Google knew right away the blood was a symptom not the problem. I will never take any of my animals there again, neither will my family, and we've been using them for years. read more

NOT very impressed. My dog had eye surgery, which was at the office so this was convenient,but the after care has been horrible. She recovers from surgery and her eyes look exactly the same, when asked when they will look better their response is that she was born with her eyes deformed and they will always look like that..... then why did I pay $600.00 for them to return exactly the way they were? Then this bump has been reoccuring under her eye, they said it was due to her being allergic to the stitches......3 months later and it is still bad and raw. I took a deeper look and see that they left stitches! When I called they did not apologize or explain, simply stated they can remove them as a walk in appointment. Very unhappy, my poor pup has been very patient yet misguided. I do not see much results or compassion from this office. read more

I was a huge fan of Clovis Pet Hospital until the 29th of April when I took my cat to see Dr.Byrd. When I asked about spaying or neutering a stray cat and her litter of kittens, Dr.Byrd's recommendation was to take them all to the SPCA where they would most likely be euthanized. She said she would not hesitate to take any stray there knowing it would be put to death, or, she said she would euthanize them herself. I expected a veterinarian to have a bit more heart than that. I will have this mama cat spayed, her five kittens will all be neutered as well as a stray dog that we've rescued, but it will not be done at the Clovis Pet Hospital. Unlike Dr. Byrd, I believe every life has value and I'm willing and able to spend the money to have these animals cared for. Shameful to kill an animal just because there are too many. Why not help by making spaying and neutering more affordable? read more

Do not go here! I took two dogs in for a check-up first thing in the morning. Ten minutes later they were out and I was charged over $800 for supposed shots and blood work. been going here since at least 2003, maybe a few years prior. Dr. Madsen has always treated our pets, he was the best. We loved the old location, I was in there last week with my cat, and honestly It was not the same. The staff was not as warm and welcoming as when they were at the old location, and I don't even know the vet's name as she did not introduce herself. The exam was very in depth, so I cannot complain about the level of care. And I was not hit with some "sales pitch" and in fact I had to ask how much the cost for Xrays would be If I elected to do so. As for those who get pitched, you can always say NO, and you can always state WHY you are saying NO. I can see up selling so to speak going on though, new location, higher overhead. But with no Dr. Madsen and NOBODY seems to know where he went I will be looking for a new vet regardless. My cats have been under the care of Drs. Fenster and Madsen for about 17 years. The cats of course are less than thriled (okay, they HATE going), but I truly appreciate the kind and friendly attitudes of both doctors. They take the time to explain any diagnosis or treatment, in layman's terms. Occasionally I've felt the staff was a bit rushed with me on the phone, but never with their treatment of the animals. They don't even get upset when, upon our arrival, the first thing they have to do is hose down Kitty's hindquarters (cats do literally get the poop scared out of them). When the time came to have one cat euthanized, they all were respectful, and let us stay in the treatment room after she was gone, for as long as we needed to grieve and be with her. read more

Unfortunately 0 stars is not an option. I have been using this vet for about 3 years and am dumbfounded by what transpired today. We have a puppy that received a Lepto vaccination here a month ago. The puppy had a reaction that was causing her hind leg to give out. The puppy got pain meds and the reaction cleared up within 24-48 hours. No blame is placed on the pet hospital for the reaction and the review is based on what happened today: The puppy is due for more flea and tick medication, so I called them to see if I could come get a refill. I was told not a problem come in to the office. Upon showing up I was informed that because of the reaction the puppy had to the Lepto vaccination they would no longer see her as a patient and that they wouldn't refill her flea/tick medication, because it required a heart worm test. Which of course they wouldn't do, because they no longer accept her as a patient. If you are searching for a pet hospital that is going to care for your animals, I highly suggest you look elsewhere. read more

So i keep getting the names confused, but I'm pretty sure that Clovis Pet Hospital bought out Clovis Vet Hospital, which is probably a beneficial thing for the animals that went to the latter, since the vet there was a quack. I have only been here once since under the new Vets, but I could already tell an improvement in the people skills. The vet we had told me that he was so busy he wanted to kill himself at the end of the day...and that made me like him more. Ultimately, I would prefer to take my dog to All Creatures, because they are recommended so highly by people in the rescue field, both for their compassion and pricing, but until I can get in there, this place will do the trick. read more

After a bad experience with a local vet, I decided to travel to Clovis for my senior dog's care. Dr. Hathaidharm was always friendly, professional and honest; she was very thorough and straight forward with her explanations of my pets condition and informed me of solutions to his ailments without pressuring me into unnecessary procedures. In fact, Dr. Hathaidharm suggested that I not carry out some procedures due to his senior age. Unfortunately, my pet had to be euthanized a little over a week ago. Despite it being a devastating day for me, Dr. Hathaidharm and Sarah helped me make the necessary arrangements and decisions while still showing sympathy and care. I would not hesitate to recommend Clovis Pet Hospital and Dr. Hathaidharm to anyone seeking a clean facility with a professional, friendly and honest staff. read more

I was new in Clovis, so I chose a vet nearby where I lived. I had a longhair dapple Doxie who was my best friend and psychiatrist appointed emotional support animal. My Doxie who was 14 years old was experiencing some back issues and he received cold laser treatments, steroids and pain meds for several months during 2018 - 2019. I didn't realize it, but Dr. Fenster told me about a hernia Scheuster had. In mid 2019, he was unable to pass his stool. He received medication but it didn't seem to help. I was extremely concerned because he appeared to be in pain. I took him back to the hospital where there was a "substitute vet". I was emotionally upset and all he could do was give him a rectal exam. I know I wasn't in my right mind so I requested euthanasia, since the doctor had no clue what to do. No suggestions whatsoever. To top that off, they were going to charge me extra to hold my dear sweet Scheuster as he was put to sleep. That was unconscionable to me. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath each veterinarian takes? Also, Dr. Fenster recently completed graduate education in Theology? What a mockery that is. A few days later I talked with a friend whose older Doxie was experiencing similar problems as Scheuster. Her vet taught her how to palpate her dog so he could pass his stool. I was absolutely sickened by the thought I didn't have to kill my dog if only Scheuster had a much more intelligent and caring vet. Please do not take your beloved pet to this awful place. She loves going to go visit the staff, they are all so friendly, professional, and love animals. We also have another dog who is 7 and she has been diagnosed with separation anxiety. She has gotten all the care and medication that she needed to make her so much more comfortable and happy because of the doctors at Clovis Pet. It was a Tuesday and my cat Smokey Joe (then age 6 months) was listless and sweaty. I was so scared. I took him into see the Vet. The doctor told me that since he was a feral cat that this is what usually happens; they get this cat virus and die. I was saddened, slapped down all the cash I had and said, "DO what-ever you can." And they did. Today, Smokey Joe is my most beloved companion and he's 10 years old and going strong. I bring all my companions here. Last week my other cat "Tootie" had a terrible abscess under her chin. They saw her on Saturday morning at 8am and got her fixed up. She's on antibiotics now and is doing better. I'm sure I'll have to take her back and I feel very confident that they will do whatever they can. I can't stress, when it comes to our pets, or at least in my humble opinion, they are like family. I want them to be happy and healthy. I really trust in Clovis Pet Hospital and their staff. The care they showed towards Tootsie was wonderful. Tootsie was not as stressed when she came back to me as when she was on her way. This place was clean and it comforted me to know. They offered me options when it came to her care and make it so I could afford the care. Pet hospitals can be stressful for animals. I didn't find that here. In fact, Tootsie-who's afraid of the vacuum, came back after being "worked" on by the vet happy! It made all my stress leave in an instant when I saw the smile in her eyes. they charged me $500 more than the estimate given to me, made me wait for over 30 minutes to tell me why they were charging me $500 more. the receptionist said the most she could do was honor the $1 price difference in one of the things on my estimate. turns out the missing $500 came from something i had "declined" at the last appointment, but i declined nothing at the last appointment all i did was ask for the estimate. they asked for a primary phone number to reach me at, and then proceeded to call a different phone number every time after asking them to change it to the correct one three times, causing me to miss important calls about my dogs condition. staff is super rude and condescending every time i have come in. do not take your pets here. read more

They kept my dog to take xrays & blood work. I was called by them to sow up at 445 for an explanation of what was going on with my dog. After waiting in the exam room for almost an hour, I told the lady at the front counter we had not seen anyone yet, is there a problem. She said she would check. I never herd from her again. 10 min later, a worker opened the door and said he would be right with us. 10 - 15 more minutes & the veterinarian finally came in. He addressed the most important issue, but not the other 2 issues I told him about that morning. I brought them up & he seemed like this is the first he herd about them. Not happy with the service. The cost was almost double the estimate I was given (the medication was incredibly expensive). read more

Showed up early to my appointment for my sweet dog, were immediately sent to a room where we waited 25 minutes before I left to speak to the receptionist and asked how much longer it would be. She let me know we would be helped ASAP, only to go back to the room and wait another 10 minutes with my dog shaking in extreme fear. Decided enough was enough grabbed my dog and went back to the receptionist and requested a new appointment. Receptionist let me know it would be about another 30 minutes of waiting time. I would've appreciated knowing ahead of time. Especially because my dog has anxiety attacks. Been coming to this vet for 17 years, expected more from them. Very disappointed to say the least. We were traveling thru California when our son's puppy became very sick in a matter of minutes in our hotel. We had no idea where to go or what to do. Google took us to Clovis Pet Hospital. The staff very calmly took his pup and started running tests. They told us she would need to stay the day with them, which was not in our plans, we were trying to get our son to Oregon that day! We were kept informed every step of the way of Willow's progress. By the end of the day, Willow was healthy and ready to join us again. I've been taking my dog to this facility and have had a good experience. Unfortunately when my dog became very ill and had to stay overnight it turned into 3 nights and a lot of money later. The Vet Tech told me that I would not be charged for his recheck and when I took him in they charged me $263, I asked about this and they looked at me like I was crazy. But the most disturbing part was I was short $65 in my bank account and so I had to run home to get more money. they then took by dog away from me and kept him till I paid, I've never been more furious at the lack of compassion and mistrust in that I would come back and pay. They actually held my dog as collateral till I paid. Be careful with this place they are all about the money read more
