Veterinarian recommended to schedule TPLO surgery for $5,000+ after reviewing the x-rays I could see that the ligament was half torn. The veterinarian wasn't open to suggestion to rest and healing as an option? After viewing the half torn ligament, the Internet recommended with two months of crate rest with major restriction of movement which could heal with scar tissue. Armstrong to this day has never responded or followed up with me to schedule the TPLO surgery or most importantly to check in to see how Rosie is doing. It's been over two months now since Rosie's movement restriction plan and Rosie is walking and running on all four legs evenly with no favoritism of injured leg! I would not recommend Armstrong Pet hospital and warn clients of our experience should you elect to have TPLO surgery. Their tactic to scare you into invasive pet surgery at a costly rate, very minimal customer service and at least amount caring for the pet. It's my opinion that Armstrong Veterinary is mostly interested in charging emotional pet owners. One bit of advice, or information I received after extensive questioning the veterinarian which did not appreciate in my opinion with his body language and tone towards us! Should you elect to have the TPLO surgery, it is highly for certain that the pet will likely need in time on their other leg because they'll favor the bad leg and create too much stress on their good leg! Recommendation do your research take a chance in my case it worked out wonderful and Rosie are red healer is thriving. It was worth the 2 to 3 months caring! Rosie, our red healer, enjoying a ride, running on all four legs now! Do not let Armstrong Vet Hospital bully you into surgery, especially if the ligament is still intact.

What I appreciate most is that I have always felt like they genuinely care about her quality of life and about us as her family. They have taken the time to answer my many questions, explain what is happening, discuss realistic options, and help us figure out how to care for her at home. I have never felt rushed, dismissed, or judged for asking questions or wanting to understand every option available to us. During a stressful and emotional time, their team has helped make things feel much more manageable. I especially appreciate the honesty and compassion they have shown when discussing her condition. They have celebrated the good signs with us while still being realistic about her health, which means more than they probably realize. Poopoo is incredibly important to our family, and knowing that she is being cared for by people who treat her with kindness and dignity gives us so much peace of mind. Thank you to everyone at Riverpark Pet Hospital for taking such wonderful care of our girl and for being so patient with her very worried humans. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a veterinary team that truly cares about their patients.

This was a huge waste of my time as I drove from afar with three small children and three cats in carriers. I have recently fostered and adopted from here two months ago. The clinic needs to do better. IF PROOF OF RABIES VACCINE WAS REQUIRED, THIS SHOULD'VE BEEN POSTED ON WALK-IN CLINIC INFORMATION PAGE OR ANYWHERE. Fast forward a week and she's crying and struggling to go to the bathroom. We thought constipation. After a whole night of pain we called VAC and they said they had no appointments for follow up, it wasn't the antibiotics and to go to urgent care. We ended up at a different vet who first thing palpated her bladder and felt a mass. Then took a simple xray which showed 3 large bladder stones, one of which was blocking her from going pee. I'm no Dr, but wouldn't the original ultrasound from VAC show this? Wasn't that the point of the ultrasound? Even the 2nd vet was baffled that they didn't detect 3 cheese ball sized bladder stones via ultrasound, which I hear provides more detailed information than an X-ray. Anyway, I find that surprisingly incompetent. And even if they couldn't provide the necessary treatment (surgery), I would assume they would have spotted something so obvious and offered a treatment plan. Maybe they didn't even do the ultrasound? But they certainly billed for it. Anyway, boo on you VAC. Don't go here, they messed up big time.

We went to Alta Animal Hospital because they could fit us in on the day we called. We ended up waiting for over an hour and a half past our "appointment" in their cramped waiting area before they even called on us, then there was a lot of waiting in the exam room. When the doctor finally came in, he was pleasant. Then he said someone would be in to "present" the treatment plan and bill. Then the tech comes back in after a while and looks at me and my wife and says, "ok, who will I be *presenting* the bill to?" You would be absolutely correct if by now you are assuming they were fully intending to rip us off. For 6mo of flea medication (Simparica Trio), they charged $300. (Later on, I researched online and it should've probably been $200-$225). They also had several other medications for which they no doubt also completely overcharged us. Total bill was $1200 (!!). Front desk staff (seemed like doctor's wife or family member) was very curt in taking our payment as we left. Now, the Simparica Trio did take care of his fleas, and pretty quickly. However, they wanted us to come back for a follow-up appointment. When we arrived for that they charged us *another exam fee* and wanted us to pay another $500 for additional medications to continue to treat his skin conditions. We paid the exam fee and left. Today we took the dog to another vet for his worsening skin issues. This vet has a much bigger and nicer waiting room, did not make us wait an inordinate amount of time, had a friendlier staff, and was overall a much better experience. For medications (that I think will work this time!) and the entire visit, the bill was $365. Including a no-cost followup visit in a few weeks. It made me think back to the experience with Alta, and realize what an incredible ripoff it was all the way around.
