Used to be a good place, ordered a square pizza well done and it was like mush. Had to use a fork. Called to speak to the manager and she argued with me about it. Asked me to "bring it back" and they would make another, how do you know it's not well done until you try it? Needs to learn how to treat customers with respect. I was working a serving shift next door to clover leaf when an employee (I didn't catch his name but he also works at Regale!) came into our restaurant. He placed a carry out, and I asked if they had antipasto salad. Ordered via DoorDash since Cloverleaf doesn't offer their own delivery. Not sure what deal they have with them but it placed the order with a store father than at least 4 stores closer to me. We don't have the option to choose a location for any store with DD. Pizza took so long, it was soggy and inedible. Have eaten at [the original] Cloverleaf, on Gratiot, for years. Always great!!! This carry-out, Hayes and 22, is the worst. Pizza tastes terrible; round or square, the dough/crust has after taste; the location is filthy; and, the owner/staff has absolutely NO sense of customer service. My family loves to order a pizza once a month and this time we decided to give this Cloverleaf location a try. We typically order from another location, but since this location is closer to home we opted to get our pie from here. As I was picking up the carryout order, I noticed missing salad dressing. I'll let the cashier know that we needed two ranch salad dressings that we had paid for and she went to get them. While she was away, I looked inside the box and noticed that the sauce for the breadsticks was also not included. When she got back I let her know again. She went to go get the pizza sauce and when she got back she seemed very irritated. I don't know if she was irritated with me for sending her away twice or if she was irritated with someone else for not including it in the box, but her irritation was a little off-putting. When I got home with the food, we noticed a significant difference in the way that the pizza looked compared to other locations. None of us were very thrilled with the way the pizza tasted. The pizza sauce is very different from the sauce at the other closest location. The pepperonis on different from what we get as well. We felt that the crust of the pizza was very hard and chewy, not at all soft like we are used to. In the future we'll use the other location at Dequindre. I'm not sure if this was just a one off experience or if pizza at this location is typically served like this, but I don't want to take the chance and I'd rather get pizza that we know will like from the other Cloverleaf location at Dequindre. read more

Ordered an internet pizza at approx. 6:00 p.m.on Sat. 8/5/23 with an estimated pick up time of 6:30 p.m. Showed up at 6:30 p.m. to pick up pizza and it was a totally different pizza than what I ordered. The female manager tried to get me to take it but I refused and she said she would cook another one and told me to have a seat. 20 minutes later, the pizza was ready and when I asked her if she was going to discount it for the gross inconvenience she put me thru, she said no, she cooked another one for me and that was the end of her obligation. I'm done with that joint since they screwed up a prior pizza I ordered a week and a half ago but I never complained about it. My wife and I order from here about once a week. The thin crust pizza is consistently good. The gluten free round pizza is excellent too. This is our go-to spot to order from for family parties. Aunts and uncles ask for the contact info, it's that good. Much better than Jets! They also have a rewards program that gets you a free large pizza every once in awhile based on how much you spend. We're glad to have a Detroit area legacy in our backyard. The original store on Gratiot is great too! If you haven't tried Cloverleaf yet you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. read more

This was our first time having Cloverleaf. The pizza was better than we anticipated and the lettuce for the salad was crisp and fresh. We did wait an extra 20 mins and I'm thinking it was an accident and it is okay. Felt bad that the workers did not have masks or gloves on to protect them as they carried out our pizzas during this pandemic. 15 bucks for a soggy uncooked pizza is not worth it. Just got mine today, waited 30 minutes and its not even cooked through. The center is all soft and soggy. Really dissatisfied. Something wrong with your oven? If you turn it up you might probably make pizza faster and cook them thoroughly. You make tons of money on pizza, you shouldn't be making play dough back there. If I could give 0 stars I would. Let me start by saying I've had cloverleaf both the one at 15 and schoehnerr and the new one at 13 and Hayes and both were awesome. So since I live out by hall road I decided to give this one a try. I ordered a clover 8 (8 corner pizza) with light sauce and well done. what I got was what I guess would be a large pizza with triple sauce and not cooked very well (almost raw). Not sure if they were trying to screw with me since I had a specific order or what but I couldn't eat it cuz of all the sauce and the way it was cooked (or lack there of). At any rate, I wanted to make sure I checked out the "Origins" so to speak.....apparently THE place that started it all in Detroit back in the 40's (I think) and branched out to Buddy's, etc..... First time last time. Not a fan at all. Let's start with picking up the pizza and two guys standing around doing nothing ( you douche bags know who you are, beards and black rim glasses what a cool look never seen that before) I take that back. The short pudgy guy was playing with his beard wearing no gloves and then handling food, very sanitary. A kid who was working comes over to finally serve me. Finally get my food and while paying my bill another worker comes up to look at a ticket and adjust himself ( you know shifting his lil pecker) in front of me and another customer...enough said The pizza did nothing for anyone in the family, the cheese bread was way to thin and the sauce that came with it just plain blew, horrible taste. The salad was okay but not enough dressing. I love eating dry lettuce...NOT Overpriced, seriously i would take a hot and ready over this stuff and i don't even like little ceasers. read more

Best non-wood burning pizza in the area. Hands down. Sauce, cheese and topping quality are excellent. Menu is limited, but you want else do you want but amazing pizza? Delivery is pretty good at keeping to promised times, as is take out quote times. One question I have is they stake their claim to being a 'stone baked' pizza concept but It appears they use a typical 'impinger' conveyor oven. Maybe a quibble, as the pizza stands on its own merit. All in all, my go-to weekend pizza. My personal favorite? Round crust, spicy pepperoni, diced tomatoes, jalapenoes with extra sauce. read more

What made it stand out, in my opinion, was the sauce (less oregano), the mushrooms (were these shiitake or cremini mushrooms maybe?), and the crust was baked perfectly! He applogized and I will give them another chance. 4 stars because they have the best pizza around. 5 stars if they can get my order right This location used to be great. Now every single time I go in my order is wrong. I would have let it go but this continues to happen. The manager is always too busy with his girlfriend in the store to pay attention to his employees. Yesterday I asked to speak to him when I got home and realized my order was wrong. He refused to get on the phone. Then I was told "well we are busy so your new pizza is going to take a while" um.... Fine. I get in the store and ask for a corporate number and was refused the number and instead they took my name and number and said the GM would be calling me. Suprise, never got a call. Ah, my 300th review. Never woulda thunk it to be Cloverleaf. 300! "Spartans! Ready your breakfast and eat hearty... For tonight, we dine in hell!" Soo...They claim to be the Detroit original square pizza as it says outside on the sign. I think Buddy's Pizza would beg to differ. My wife & I got a large Hawaiian pizza and a pound of traditional bone-in wings here. They were kind to oblige to a customization to our pizza at no added charge. I am not a fan of pineapples, so I asked to substitute my half of the pizza with sausage in place of pineapples. So my half was bacon, sausage, and ham. The meat toppings were quite a bit salty. The wings were subpar. Kind of small, and had that slimey almost microwaved texture that I do not like. Worse than the ones at Jet's but somehow costing a buck more. There were a few dinky pieces that were cut bad. Both the pizza and wings came out to around $23. This was a little steep compared to Jet's for the same amount of food. Sad to say, we did not feel the taste justified the price difference. The crust is actually a bit thin for our liking, and the edges did not crisp up the way we prefer. Overall, Cloverleaf makes tasty, decent quality pizza. It is stone-baked too! I hate to have mostly picked at their shortcomings, but I feel that Detroit-style pizza is very competitive, so no easy wins in this category. I would recommend a one-try here to anyone, because it may be a favorite for you. But for me, with all the options in the Shelby/Macomb area, this ended up being somewhere around the average category for the price. read more

We ordered the gluten free pizza tonight. It was literally the best gf pizza we've ever had! My 4 year old daughter even said that it was "yummier than our normal pizza" plus they were very friendly. They genuinely were interested in my feedback on the pizza and asked me to call them with any and all comments. We will be going back for more pizza soon. read more
