I have been coming to this nail salon for a little over a year now. I absolutely love it! Always so welcoming!!I moved twice and Clover Nails became out of my way, but I still manage to go only there! I had mani-pedi and eye brows done by most of the girls there and all of them are amazing!!! The prices are so cheap and they still take their time and never rush making sure your nails are perfect! They also keep up with the new OPI and Essie colors. I went to a different nail salons a few times due to urgency and realized that it has always been a mistake. Two words: staying power. My nails legit last for a week without chipping when I get the quick dry (Seche Vite) top coat. They definitely do not put any thinners in any of their polish, and I appreciate that. One star off because my pedicure was mehhh, but the manis are great. Read the reviews, decided to try this place. While I definitely agree that they were friendly, the prices are cheap, and the place was clean, my manicure was just sloppy sloppy sloppy! The prep was completely rushed with no attention to detail. It's my first time in awhile not having a gel manicure, so my nails were a little rough from that removal and needing some buffing TLC, and no buffer touched them. The woman just painted them which means the polish looks SO rough. Also, the manicure was done this last Friday (three days ago), and I already have two gaping chips even though I haven't really done anything to abuse them. A side note- I also have a major beef with the fact that the price for manicure is listed at $9, but then they pull this crap at the end where they ask if you want the "quick dry top coat" for an extra $1. Ok, so obviously when you're sitting there and thinking, "Well what happens if I don't get the 'fancy' top coat?" you just go for it. Seems like a scheme to raise the price. I was a regular here and some of the staff are great. But DO NOT go to Kelly (ironically she has my same name). She did a crappy pedicure, horrible nail filing and bad cuticle job which left lumpiness. She also left nail polish on my skin which I kindly asked her to clean off. Unfortunately this made her upset and she gave me an attitude blaming it in me for being cheap and not choosing the Essie nail polish (which is a $5 up charge). The owner had to come over finish the job and appointed another employee for my manicure, which was great by the way (using the same nail polish). When it was time to pay, Kelly tried to charge me seperate for the pedicure (instead of the bundled price for mani/pedi) with the same unpleasant attitude. The owner again had to interfere and charge me the correct bundled price of $40. I gave her $2 tip, and she looked at the money and at me in disgust and walked out the store while mumbling something in her native language. I tipped the manicurist $7 as she deserved. I came here to relax not to have to argue about getting great service which I am paying top dollar for. I informed the owner that because of staff like Kelly is why customers won't be returning back. read more

Really pleasantly surprised. As someone who gets their nails done pretty frequently if you haven't noticed :) I am sometimes skeptical of 2nd floor joints because it's hard to tell before you actually get up in them whether they are sketchy or not. Luckily for me, this place was not at all sketchy. Bright and airy and really clean which put me automatically at ease. My nail tech Young was really sweet and incredibly meticulous especially with my cuticles. And I really liked that when my nails were drying they stopped me mid way to spray with some quick dry oil and had me go under the drier again to make sure they were good. They currently look flawless :) 10.50 with a quick dry top coat and flawless nails. Yep, that's a go! Will definitely be back if I am in the area again! read more

First time going to Clover nails and I was immensely impressed by Ruby's handcrafted precision and Flawless technique. I love how everything was hand filed and there was no drills used, it made each nail equal in perfection. There's no other nail salon I go to when I'm back in NYC for work. I never had a bad experience getting nails done from any of the staff. The prices are super moderate for Manhattan, and the owner is such a sweet heart. She works hard and she always has a smile on her face. Apparently when Kim Kardashian was shooting her show at the Gansevoort down the block, they frequented this nail salon. They have a cute poster of Kim and Coutney getting their nails done at the salon. I've seen a lot of customers getting gel manicure, so when I go back for another visit I'm definitely going to try that out. read more

Service was great but horrible manicures. Paid $65 for gel mani and pedicure. The next day, one nail on my hand chipped, I called and they fixed free of charge. Very nice, very clean, very reasonably priced for Midtown. My nail technician took her time with my pedicure. She was precise and diligent in giving me a perfect pedicure. I switched nail technicians for my manicure. I wanted very specific nail art. I showed them a picture, and they assured me they could do it. I even brought the colors. Not so much. This salon doesn't specialize in nail art, and that's okay. Next time they should sign up for what they can accomplish (just tell me that's not their specialty). I was going to give four stars at first but due to one little incident in the end, I decided to take off one star. I was looking for spa pedicure with paraffin heel treatment. The staff recommended the callus removal pedicure, which was $37--not a bad deal for NYC. The process was pretty standard and okay. At the end, when I was drying my toe nail, I realized there was a small chip on one of my toe nails, and I asked them to quickly fix it. I don't really know how it happened...maybe I tripped? But they added $2 to the bill just because they put on more polish on that nail. $2 wasn't a big deal, and I was going to tip more because of that anyways. I came here with my sister as a graduation present to myself - being in massage school, I couldn't have long nails or any paint. I wanted tips and a pedicure. My pedicure was great - I can't remember the girl's name, but they look fabulous. When I asked her for french tips, she wasn't able to do them, and I had Ruby. They didn't understand that I wanted tips with a French manicure, they thought I wanted French tips, so we wasted time trying to figure that out. Then, I got them done, which took a lot longer than I had planned - I've never had it taken more than an hour and a half tops. I was in the chair for 2 hours. She painted the tips silver, at my request, and I didn't notice til I left that they were all different in the shapes (my fault for not noticing there - I was in a rush after being there so long). I also noticed at home after the gel had finally settled that my right thumb (which is short and fat and doesn't fit the normal pieces), wasn't sized correctly - there was a huge gap between the edge of my nail and the tip. I don't utilize my fingers too much - I type at work, but not much other strenuous activities, and 3 nails broke within an hr of each other just 3 days after getting them done. Not just a crack, but while drying my hair, my whole thumb tip broke off. I very rarely get tips done, so I don't know if I'm just not used to them, but I am not pleased with how they turned out, especially for that kind of money. I expect this of a place where its $30 for tips, not $65. My sister on the other hand just had the basic mani/pedi, and it came out great. read more

I was taken care of by Glenda.... DON'T bother getting your nails done by her. The next day my nail polish was chipped... She also sucked at customer service - I was secretly wishing I had one of the Asian women who seemed sooo much better and very friendly. Alsooo the sign says 33$ Mani and Pedi she charged me $36 which was what I signed but A few minutes later I saw that she charged me $43! I asked if there was a fee to swipe and she either played dumb or is - she said "what?" Then I told her what I was charged and all she said was "oh I don't know"... I was sooo annoyed I just left it that way because I could just tell she would just get me more annoyed. Horrible paint job, didn't remove my previous nail polish enough so nails look dirty even with new polish and essentially didn't remove any cuticle. I could do a better job myself! Soon, the owner, is the absolute sweetest and is amazingly knowledgeable about all of the colors (new & old - OPI & Essie). This nail salon charged me $15 to get 1 nail fixed. The lady on the phone said it would cost 7-8$ for a nail repair, which was fine. However, charging me almost DOUBLE because I chose a shellac color for one nail was outrageous! (I didn't even know how much extra it would have cost to chose shellac! I would have chosen a regular nail color in that case) Nail salons usually charge you an extra $5-10 if you get shellac for whatever full service you get on all your fingers or toes.. They could have at least informed me that it would cost extra for (I repeat) ONE nail! read more

I am sorry, but I have to downgrade this place from my prior review. I just got a pedicure from Ruby and the polish on both big toenails came out pretty bad -- a lot of rippling, streaking and bubbles. I thought I noticed it in the salon, but when I asked her she said it just looked like that because of the lighting. But now that I'm home and the nails are completely dry, there's no denying it. I'm going to have to go to another salon and have them redo the paint job. (p.s. if you've read my earlier review, I would like to add that my manicure last time with Blanca lasted at least a week and still looked great, so I would go back to this salon if I could have Blanca do my nails again.) read more

Just moved my office into the 'hood, this was the first nail salon experience close to me, so I came here because of proximity and past great reviews. I can only judge the place by the gal who did my pedicure, but it was sadly only mediocre. I like my pedicurist to really work my feet, not be afraid of touch, and I truly appreciate mad cuticle clipping skills. Most places even give you a nice little shoulder rub afterwards while you're planted at the drying station. This place (my pedicurist) offered none of these. I think I'll look for another establishment for my future foot pampering. read more
