We wanted something other than good Mexican food, so we went out of our way a bit to try this place in Soap Lake. We ordered two sandwiches and a carrot cake cupcake. The man who took our order said it would be about 25 minutes; it turned out to be closer to 40. Both of our sandwiches (Italian and turkey club) were delicious, mostly thanks to the outstanding focaccia. The sandwiches were served with chips. If there was some other option, it wasn't offered to us. The carrot cake cupcake was pretty good; the icing was better than the cake, which was on the dry side. The employees were interesting. They were overly friendly to the locals, and a bit cool and indifferent to everyone else. We had plenty of time to observe this pattern. Also, they all moved at the pace of a Siberian snail. But they do warn you about their lack of expediency both verbally, and by way of multiple signs that urge patrons to exercise patience. If I had to sum up the ambiance, I would say that it's eclectic, somewhat hippy-ish, and clean. If you have time in your hands, this is a good place to get a darn good sandwich! read more

Stopped by Sunday on a whim and I underestimated how popular this place is, so we weren't aware how long the wait time could be, but I really didn't mind. It was such a vibe, the staff was great, and the food was incredible! I ordered the caprese sammy and asked if they'd mind putting some of the blackberry balsamic from a different dish on it, and they were happy to try my weird request. It was fantastic! Though I'm sure it would have been just as good, as intended. The coffees and the treat from the bakery case were incredible also. They were super busy but the staff handled it with grace. I didn't see a single customer get upset about the wait either. They obviously knew what I just figured out, totally worth the wait! The place has an awesome global vibe, something I usually have to travel for but the way the staff greated us, and every other person, you'd think we were regulars. I visited Soap Lake yesterday and on recommendation of a friend went to Cloudview Kitchen for lunch. I gave myself plenty of time since my friend said the lines are long. I was impressed by the quaint ambiance and ordered a Club sandwich. It was impressive. I could only eat one half of this hand crafted meal and saved the other half for after the Masquers show I traveled to see. Both were great. We were traveling through Soap Lake, WA and stopped at Cloudview for a quick bite to eat. We've been to Cloudview before and their breakfast is delicious. The only problem was that we waited 35 minutes for a breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict. There weren't many people in there so it didn't seem like there would be a long wait. I understand they may have been experiencing delays in the kitchen, I just wish they would have mentioned it upon ordering. If so, we would've kept going on our way. I only tried the Korean chicken bowl. Wasn't my favorite, but that was just the flavor profile. That said, have coworkers who swear by the place and, if I was around longer to try more, I'm sure I'd feel the same way based off quality and taste. Looks phenomenal. I'd try everything. This was such a little gem in the town of Soap Lake! Located right on Main St. in the "downtown" area of this tiny town, Cloudview Kitchen was such a wonderful way to start the day on Sunday morning. I believe they're only open for breakfast and lunch every day, but the staff is so sweet and their food is delicious! We ordered their breakfast hash and couldn't resist their pastries. One of the owners came up to the counter while we were ordering and was so kind and friendly! We got to hear a little back story of how the business started, which was only a couple years ago. Before we knew it, halfway through the convo about the business, the owner had a to-go box in his hand and we were debating which pastries we were going to order. It's an eclectic little place with a thrift store/maybe a salon? right next, adjoining the space. There was cool artwork, books, local artists featured, etc. throughout the space. We got our food to go and I honestly could no shut up about how delicious the bread was. The breakfast hash came with delicious scrambled eggs, a veggie medley with zucchini, squash, and potatoes and onions, and the bread here literally melted in my mouth. It was a biscuit-y textured toast and omg I wish I had ordered more. If you're visiting The Gorge Amphitheater, or passing through Soap Lake, definitely stop here and give this place a visit. Okay so first time checking this place out and oh my goodness! This review is for their ice vanilla lavender latte with organic oat milk ugh! To die for! I made the drive just to try this drink (18 minutes) and it was totally worth it. Great quality coffee and the barista hands down amazing for doing such a great job. The ambiance it's so chill and beautiful inside, they have pastries and sometimes they have vegan ones which for me is a huge plus! This is absolutely one of THE BEST cafes you will find in all the PNW! My husband and I are from Portland and we make it a point to try every coffee shop on the city. And yet! We had a terrible experience at a restaurant while we were in Soap Lake for my sister's memorial service. I did a Google review as did 2 other of my relatives and this was the reply from the business owner: Cloudview Kitchen Bakery ‧ Soap Lake, WA Colette Peterson Google Review: How do I start? It's a wannabe bohemian hippie vibe that has a bit of an identity crisis with disco balls and Chinese dragons and lanterns also? You order yourself and it is self serve everything except they do bring the food to you. Get your own lukewarm water, bus your own table, stand in line to order...you get the idea. The problem is that they want you to tip like a regular full service restaurant. The seating is very interesting but okay for such a small place. The tables have laminated placards on them stating to bus yourself and another to please be patient with the kitchen as orders may take a long time. This should have been our clue! We were a party 6 that turned into a party of 8. The 1st 6 waited almost exactly and hour for food but the crazy part was how long the 2 people waited that joined us later. They waited a total of 2 HOURS for their food! Yes, you heard correctly, 2 HOURS!!! We asked many times and were given quite a few snarky replies by different members of the staff. When the food finally arrived the rest of the party was so ready to leave so the 2 additional people had to eat alone. To kick it off while they we eating a staff member had the audacity to start bussing the end of their table while they were eating and making snarky noises while doing it! Cute place. Good Food. Very poor/rude service. Which technically should not be a problem since you are really just serving yourself. Order yourself, get your own water and utensils, go up and collect your coffee drinks, go up to the front and request to be given the pastries that you ordered along with your meal but were never given to you, and bus your own table. I'm fine with all of these things and I even tipped 20% (which was $20) as soon as I ordered. My concern is with the workers who are receiving generous tips for absolutely no service provided. Not even one check-in to see if everything was okay? I had to approach the front counter several times to request ketchup, missing pastries, and also a to-go box. Each time the lady was annoyed with me. The last time she made sure to tell me to bus my own table which I had already started doing when I asked for a to-go box. After I cleaned up my mess I stepped away from the table to the center of the room to allow my 3 teens room to clean up after themselves. (Some tables are very tight). As my kids were actively cleaning up after themselves, the same rude lady walked out and decided to point at our table and announce to the entire room that we needed to please clean up our table. One of my kids was returning salt and pepper shakers, one kid was at the trash can, and the other kid was on the way to the restroom. But we were actively clearing the table. My kids were embarrassed as everyone was staring at them. I, on the other hand, just stood there and immediately started to wonder what my $20 tip was going to?? I will come here again as it really is a darling place. But I will not tip. There is a tip jar next to the register for cash tips. I may tip a bit of cash at the end if the workers are kind and respectful. But I will not tip anywhere anymore at the counter when ordering food. Tipping should be at the end of the meal, not the beginning. Employees of these restaurants are beginning to just expect tips for nothing now a days. I would rather pay more for food than tip a rude person who didn't provide a single bit of service. read more

Last Saturday was my opportunity as they were open on the weekend. I love this place!! Visited two years ago and went to this place three days in a row for coffee. The staff are so friendly and the coffee is delicious!! I was there again this week for three days and I enjoyed coffee every day. Had a latte the first day I am cold brew the next two days and it was absolutely perfect every time!! I would totally recommend this place!! The only thing is I am a vegan and only eat plant-based food and they were out of there one vegan muffin. Cloudview is truly a hidden gem tucked away in a sleepy village! The food was some of the best in the area. High quality desserts that could easily rival Seattle.
