Our instructor was Randy and he definitely put on a show…read more We arrived about 10 minutes before our scheduled slot and after checking us in, he took us on a tour of the building and made us feel very welcome. My mom, godmother and I were the only attendees since the other group never showed up. Although I had been to other "sip and paint" functions, this experience was unique because Randy was actually the author of the painting we completed and it was a tribute to Prince. He was very patient and kind even when we were super critical of our painting. He even performed "Purple Rain" for us which was a special treat. I'd love to go back.

She encouraged us all & reminded us that no 2 are going to look alike nor are they going to look like the example but they will still be a work of art. She was marvelous & I'm sorry I don't remember her name but her gorgeous face & her kind words are forever burned into my mind & heart. She never rushed us nor did I ever feel like we were on a time limit. We did go to the evening class, I don't know if that had anything to do with it but it was awesome. The whole class finished before the 2 hrs. We also loved that we could bring our own drinks & snacks. Javier had his Coronas which he loved! His daughter had her dr.peppers & I had my sweet tea. For anyone who still hasn't tried this get out from under your rock & do it! If you don't want to get out because of the virus, they make to go packages to do at home she let us know & they do private parties. Payment somehow immediately went through that time, which further proves my point that they were being shady. Shameful for a business this size, especially trying to pocket such a small amount of money (because they pay their staff $8 an hour). They also train you (poorly) for about 30 minutes total and expect you to be trained well enough to start instructing. Insane expectations for such low pay. And they were 10 minutes late to open with a line of customers at the door.

During my search one of the first things I stumbled across was Elm Street Studio. I loved the reviews and pictures on yelp so my co-host reached to get all the info on everything. The process was pretty easy and it was priced reasonably. Even more importantly the venue was adorable and the perfect size. We were planning to host a group of 25 ladies. The venue has a nice front room, a center area which is good for a couple of tables, a back room with fire place that is pretty big and a nice size kitchen. We used all the indoor space for our event. There is also a lovely backyard and patio area that can be used for different things as well. Everyone was super nice and accommodating to us. We got so many compliments on what a cool venue this place was for a baby shower. I would absolutely recommend this spot if you are looking to host an event. I think it would be really cool to have a small wedding and reception here.

We came here for pottery painting and it was a fun activity that will take you a couple hours to…read moredo. They have lots of different pottery items that range from animals like a dragon to kitchen items like bowls and cups. Each item has a different costs associated with it and you can see the price on the bottom. The butterfly in the picture was $22 and some items costs 2X or 3X that. Once you pick your item, then you can choose your colors and start painting. They recommend three coats for vibrancy. Depending on the size of your item and the detail you put in, it can take quite a while to do. After you're done, they will glaze it for you and you pick it up in a couple weeks. Overall, a fun activity for a group.

A group of us ladies grabbed wine bottles and snacks and headed out on our venture. The location is in a strip mall (newer) and was very clean and relatively big. We were greeted at the door by Denise, the owner, and checked in. Each person receives a punch card and you get a free class after the 10th class, which is pretty cool. Our instructor was laid back and very informative. I haven't painted since grade school, so that should tell you my experience! She told me that I have great technique so I wuv her. I'm sorry, I forgot her name!! Blame it on the wine. Painting with a Twist has a monthly calendar and you can attend a session after reserving a spot OR you can get at least 8 participants together and schedule a private party and you get to pick the painting that everyone with be doing together. You start with a blank piece of canvas and the instructor walks you through each step, telling you which brush to use and how to mix colors, make things brighter or darker, etc. She also walks around and gives you pointers or praise. The cost is $35 for a 2 hour class or $45 for a 3 hour class. The whole thing was so casual and comfortable. I was really hesitant to go because I do NOT have an artistic bone in my body, but after just a few minutes I felt right at home. They offer classes for kids, too. You just need to go to their website and check out the calendar. I neglected to take a picture of my painting, so I am going to have to come back and post that pic, but I did take a picture off of their site of the painting that we were doing so that people can see the finished product. Of course, my picture did not look this great, but it was fun and I am proud of it anyway!! Oh and I can't forget Odie..he is the owner's German Shepherd and was a doll! He isn't very good at sneaking food, though. I would try to casually "drop" sausage or cheese and he made it so obvious...ugh! Sorry, Denise, I couldn't help it. He was too cute!! All in all, I highly recommend this to anybody! It was such a nice change of pace and I believe I will make sure to do this at least once a month!

There's different painting everyday, so check it out and see what you like! Arrived a few minutes early (as you should to check in) and every one was so friendly! The receptionist and the artist (Lenny( were as welcoming as can be. My group was small, and coincidentally we were all high school and college aged students. Lenny chatted with us and made pleasant small talk as we painted away. Lenny is a highschool art teacher I believe, so he was very encouraging. Even though I though my painting looked like boo boo, he assured me that it was fine. I'm not an artist or painter by anymeans. I have NEVER done a serious painting in my life. But if I can do it, so can you. For $35, I can't complain. Will be back in a couple weeks to paint another! ALSO, its BYOB. Cups are provided.

I recently attended a crafts class at Salt and Light Collective with my co-worker. I love how…read moreinviting and clean S&L is as well as how friendly the owner Marissa is. We took the D.I.Y. Wall Hoop Craft class which was taught by Maddie. Maddie walked us through how to make the wall decor, as well as shared tips and tricks with preserving flowers. We took turns, cutting the supplies and picking out the dried flowers for the arrangement. Salt and Light provided light snacks and drinks which was a nice gesture. The class took about an hour and the wall decor turned out lovely. I look forward to attending my next art/craft class at Salt and Light Collective.
