Hugo met with my husband and I in a timely manner, made measurements, and had us meet him at his showroom soon after for a mock-up and estimate. He helped us customize a closet that is functional and maximizes our closet space as we have high ceilings. The process was seamless and Hugo made it very easy to work with him. My mom was there during the installation but she said the workers were very professional and laid out a walkway from the back door to our master closet. UNWILLING TO FIX ISSUES BUT EXPECTED TO BE PAID The behavior of Hugo and his worker Cleso was unethical, unprofessional and the workmanship was poor. Beware! I contacted Hugo at Closet La Quinta Cabinetry to only install Kitchen Cabinet Doors. Hugo said it would cost $250 but he insisted I had to pay cash because the job is too small. Hugo said he was having one of his guys (Cleso) to do the work "on the side". Here is where the nightmare begins.... THE TEXT MESSAGES WITH HUGO AND THE PHOTOS OF THE INSTALL ISSUES WERE TEXTED TO HUGO PER THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTS. Hugo's installer Cleso installed the cabinet doors but there were alignment issues and when Cleso installed the rubber bumpers for (1) cabinet, you could immediately see the alignment issues per the last photo in the attached document. When I pointed out the alignment issues, Cleso packed up his things and walked out of my home with absolutely no explanation. About 5 minutes after Cleso left, Hugo called to ask me to pay his installer Cleso, but I informed Hugo that Cleso walked off the job and I also told Hugo the job was not finished. I did not hear from Hugo again that day. The next day Saturday morning the alignment issues were even more evident, and we noticed that one of the cabinet doors was damaged with a nick in the corner of the door per the attached photo. Hugo sent a text message at 11:35 AM on Saturday saying he would like to come over to install the rubber rumpers and Hugo agreed to adjust the doors. I SHOWED HUGO THE ISSUES AND HE CLAIMED THERE WERE NO ISSUES BUT WHEN I TOLD HUGO THAT THE DAMAGED DOOR WILL LIKELY HAVE TO BE REPLACED, HUGO IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO TAKE DOWN MY CABINET DOORS. I asked Hugo to stop but Hugo continued to take down the cabinet doors. I called for my husband who was in the next room, and my husband stood over Hugo and that is when Hugo stopped. I asked Hugo to leave my house and in doing so, I told Hugo that he purposely came to my home under the pretense that he would fix the issues and install the rubber bumpers, but his plan was to actually uninstall the doors and not fix anything. Hugo angrily agreed that was his plan. Hugo accused us of being cheap, but my husband showed Hugo the money and he told Hugo "we were going to pay you, but we just want to pay for a job that is done right". Hugo oddly said, he did not want the money and left my home but then later in the day, Hugo sends a crazy text message per the attached document saying that we were taking money away from his worker Cleso. Hugo wants to be paid for poor workmanship. Go figure! read more

Closets La Quinta delivered the closets within two weeks and the install was very professional. beautiful cabinetry. they have a very experienced designer that can design your cabinetry needs on sight to match your lifestyle needs. their pricing was excellent and the quality of material was great. we did additional work with them such as a large wood wall (wood slats with black backing) in main bathroom and it was installed flawlessly. we are making changes in kitchen and taking out new cabinets with doors and replacing with drawers for easier cooking and they are adding inserts for knives, and seasonings. they also made recommendations to add slider pull out shelves for our alcohol and designing a new cabinet to hold our wine bottles. Closets La Quinta was our second place vendor, and I contacted Cindy and she quickly arranged a meeting with the owner Hugo.
