I am happy with this entire process. Tricia was very helpful during the design process and I didn't have to wait long for the install. The installation went almost perfectly - I noticed they left 2 small holes in the wall where it appears they tried to attach one of the securing L brackets but then moved it. That being said, the technician installed the system within a couple of hours, was very friendly and did a pretty good job of cleaning up afterwards. The price was just right for what I wanted. It's not a high end closet system but it is exactly what I was looking for in my reach in closet. read more

Horrible! I made the mistake of using this company twice. The first time I had them design something for mine and my husband's walkin closet. My mother was paying for it because we just moved in. The woman refused to do what I wanted she said it just wouldn't work. So I gave up. And for years had to live with so much clutter in the floor in both mine and my husband's closet. Then 14 years later I decided to call again and do a bunch of things around the house. This woman named Robin who said she worked there for over 24 years and she knows better than me so I needed to trust her. I told her what happened the first time around with my closet and what I wanted. Shr gave me the same run around. It won't work. Its going to look bad. Your not going to have room to walk. Im like I can't walk now!! Just give me what I want! I told her how big I wanted it. I had to go back and forth so many times. Finally she said yes okay I will make it that big. But did it actually come that big? NO she lied! I didn't check the dimension and trusted what she was saying. Then in my pantry I wanted it to go all the way to ceiling... She never said that couldn't be done??? And she never said it had to be way smaller than the wire rack that was already installed..... I will show pictures... And I said I wanted something to hide the trash and open up and come out like a drawer. Wait till you see what they did!!! I paid $5000 for junk! This place is horrible! They never called when they showed up to install. I said I have a doctor's appointment. They said well we are going to have to charge you. I said no your not! They said well there was a lot of snow and we have so many orders to get through. I already had waited 2.5 months!!! And they said either you let us come this Saturday or you will have to wait who knows when months..... So, two guys show up filthy reaking of B.O and pot and cigarettes. My entire house smelled so disgusting. My husband started lighting candles everywhere and getting so pissed at me for buying the closets because it took up his Saturday and they took 4 hours to install. Such a mess!! read more

I was very excited about my new closets by design installation but unfortunately after just one month several pieces are peeling and showing signs of poor quality. I was totally mislead about the quality and durability of the product. I was told that it would last decades and though different moves if we were to relocate, but unfortunately just existing in place is enough to begin the deterioration process. When I reached out to customer service I was ignored because the sale was complete, despite active communication leading up to the sale. It was disappointing to see such a difference in support before and after the sale. I hope the company takes steps to address quality and follow through for their customers. The designer ( Cindya) was very responsive, provided good suggestions, took feedback we received from other company quotes/designs and delivered a great product for good value. Install team was timely, professional and solution oriented. Some onsite customer cutting was planned for and the install crew made a few fit modifications that made the final product even better. A friend of mine showed me the finished work they had done for her and suggested I cancel this installation. I attempted to cancel on day two. No contact from any person in the company. They are quick to respond to appointments but not quick to respond to concerns. Do yourself a favor... Don't book and don't commit without doing your homework. I hired closets by design to build me a built in for art supplies and a desk. My designer was Christine Champ, who was very patient and seem to know what I was looking for. Although 2 1/2 months later, when they came to install my built in, the installers didn't seem like they really knew what they were doing. They didn't add the molding on the bottom of the top, and the underneath shelves weren't even there. I got in touch with management and they kind of gave me the go around! Thank God, Christine the designer stayed on top of it, after three different times of being here it finally came together. We got our new closet designed and installed this summer and I would definitely recommend Maria DiCarlo! She was knowledge and helpful and made sure to get any questions or concerns addressed throughout the process. There were lots of options for all the different styles and configurations and I never once felt like we were being pushed to buy more expensive versions of a thing, it was definitely about what our preference was and what worked well for the space. Once we went through our uses and intentions for the areas of the closet, Maria even found us some ways to save money by skipping certain things it was clear we wouldn't need. The company installers came do a bedroom closet installation in a newly remodeled room with brand new exotic wood floors, as they installed bringing the parts in the installers were dropping the shelves, drawers, brackets tools, stepping on the tools and wooden shims where are have caused very deep dents to the engineered wooden floors that cannot be repaired but has to be replaced, as I told the installers to be careful JASON the installer told me every f.......n work in the book, told me to get the f......out of here. And when I asked him to take their stuff and leave he put the nail gun in my face. I called the police, police report was made and a court date is pending. read more

She spent several hours with us asking about all our needs & wants for our space. We were in the middle of a large project and timing was everything and Tricia not only got our closet installed quickly but we asked for early and she delivered. Where to begin? Still seeking resolution/refund for the closet I ordered in October that was "installed" late January. Installation was a disaster and incomplete. Installer did not have what he needed for install. Broken and mismatched pieces. Incorrect measurements. Payment procedures were not followed according to contract among other issues. My husband and myself have lost work and personal time to deal with what should have been a one day installation and following up to try get resolution. So many unprofessional mistakes and poor quality of product. For the money I spent I thought I would be getting a glorious closet. Instead it looks like IKEA shelving gone wrong. This company has nearly 5K of my money for "installing" an incomplete, nonfunctional, and mismatched design of a closet. I do not recommend this company. I contracted with the company in June 2021, spent $4K for a built in unit and it took until November 2021 for them to get it right. The initial installation left me with crooked door pulls, damaged cabinets, missing crown molding and unfinished bottom. After the initial installation, I called them to say the balance ($2K) will be held until the job is completed. They ignored this instruction and charged my cc that day. They sent out 5 different crews to finish the job and only 1 of them seemed to have any "finish" cabinet experience. The "management" staff never once came to the phone when I called or returned my calls and there were several cancellations due to "staffing shortages". Toward the end of the process, they refunded me $200 for all the issues. To earn my trust, they (management) should have taken my initial call to listen to my issues and offer solutions to the poor results. They could have gained my trust by productive communication and negotiating payment options while the issues were being worked out. It seems this franchise is being run by someone who does not care about the customer and it trickles down through the management staff and employees. read more

My closet was supposed to be installed and completed Nov 2 and 3. Closets by Design did not complete the install. They did not install any of the 8 drawers. They installed the incorrect bench top. They sent a hack of an installer who jaggedly notched the light switch cut out. I immediately contacted CBD to stop payment until the work was complete. Despite my complaints, the full and final Payment was authorized. They will argue that I agreed to that in the contract. But I argue that they are in breech of contract. My contract clearly states the closet will be installed Nov 2 and 3. Final payment should have been processed when the work was complete. They are a shady company. Their promotion sales are bogus. So, I just had two walk in closets done by the CbD team out of Shirley Ma. I will say that it is a bit pricey (my opinion) but the closets came out very nice. I was nervous because I made the mistake of not looking at ratings and reviews prior to meeting with them which is something I usually do when spending a good chunk of change. The reviews were not good. The original designer left so we had a new one which I will say was a much better one (thorough). When they came to install, on one of the closets, they engineered the drawers wrong so they needed to be redone. That was on a Friday. The installer finished the job the following Wednesday. Again, nice guy and a very good install. I was pleasantly surprised my experience was different than others. My gut tells me they read these reviews and needed to be more customer centric, which was the case for me. read more
