The northeast had a recent spring like few days and my thoughts turned to gardening. I was nearby anyway so decided to see if they had something to help me get my vegetable garden started inside. The owner was not in but his friendly and helpful assistant was able to reach him for some of the more boring and technical questions I had. I was able to get a few items that will allow me a head start this spring. When I went to check out I was told a few items were discounted for me. That was a very pleasant surprise! This shop seemed a bit small at first, but they do carry an excellent assortment of items that growers of all kinds of things would find useful. I'll likely be back for soil nutrients at some point. I hope to thank the owner if he is in when I do return. Of note, this seems to be the only grow shop open in my extended area on Saturday, a huge plus for the business.

After an hour drive, I agreed to the $30 so I could choose the items I wanted to purchase. Second - one of the items purchased had an expiration date which was 4 months ago. Another item had been updated by the manufacturer months previous. Unfortunately, I did not catch this until I got home. Now I need to make another hour drive back within 7 days. Third - I return to the store.., I get a refund for the expired product and swapped the fan for the newer model. This is a positive. However, I also had two other items to return/swap. I incorrectly purchased pH Down fluid when I really need the Up fluid. Refused to swap or return for credit. Claimed store policy; however, this is not stated on the store receipt. I will not be visiting this store; HTG in Prospect Park is much better.

No, you can only buy a pack of 6. Do you need a lemon? Again, you can only get a gigantic bag. Want some green beans or Brussels sprouts? They don't have them. How about some ginger root? Again, not carried. Do you need some body wash? It's all locked up, better get an associate! How about a card for a baby shower? You have the option of three. In the market for women's shoes? They have precisely ZERO. Their makeup/nail polish selection is satisfactory. There is a Starbucks on-site, which was thrilling upon my first visit. I got breakfast and a latte! But on my second visit, exactly one week to the minute later, I was told that the Starbucks didn't open until 8 am. Funny, because my friend and I were served at 7:25 the week before, and the website (photo included here) says you open at 7, too. Gotta love the consistency! (Not.) While the location is convenient, the selection is atrocious, the PPD officer stationed at the front door is a bit unnerving, they push everyone to self-checkout even when there are unoccupied employees available, and there's not even a guarantee that you can get a redeeming Starbucks beverage! I'm done. Never again.
