If you're ever in Miami you should try this place. The Jamaican food is delicious and ambiance is spot on . Posters of The Harder They Come movie, reggae music and a mural of Bob Marley on the wall. My oxtails, rice and beans were tender and tasty. Hubby had goat and he gave it thumbs up. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Great place.
Random find on Yelp. Took a gamble for a Saturday lunch. Much say the food was delicious. The Mac and cheese was dry to my taste. Not pictured was some of the best tasting sorrel. I've ever tried. The waiter was mid. He tried to be nice but lying to me about freshly squeezed lemonade was not cool. The other waiter made up for it with the sorrel. I will give them another try because the food was
Came here for the first time and the food was tasty. I didn't know what to expect from the spicy beef patty and I would say it was okay. The jerk chicken and curry goat was so freaking good though (mouthwatering) We also got Mac & cheese and potato salad (not pictured) I wouldn't order the Mac &cheese again not sure if it was just the time of day (2:30pm) it looked sad and seemed as it was sitting for way too long, was a bit dry and just ok. Overall would come back for the other two plates and the staff was friendly and on top of it.
If you're looking for good good food check out Clive's Cafe. Everything we ordered was superb. The oxtails were cooked to perfection. Jerk conch was awesome. The portions were scrumptious & generous. Tony was our gracious host. The ambiance was nice. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed.
It's a little far for me. I'm in Coconut Grove, walking into this place. The music was amazing. I sat down. The Lady was very friendly in the bar didn't smile much. but she gave me what I wanted. Everything was amazing. I sat down and I got my favorite breakfast. LOVE IT
I want to start by saying the dish is exactly what it's suppose to be. The fish was fresh and tender. My only suggestion is they put garlic butter on the fish and veggies, It would take the dish to a 6 out of 5! I ordered mine to go so I didn't interact with the staff too much but they were welcoming and nice over the phone. I was really skeptical about the Mac & cheese but they checked that box off with honors and that pushed it to 5 stars. I can't stress garlic butter enough though ijs lol
Looking for an authentic jamaican breakfast and Mrs West did not disappoint. My true Caribbean friends loved it.
The food was amazing!! We got the oxtails and jerk chicken. The rice and peas, mac, and cabbage were great sides. The customer service was great. We were greeted and seated once we arrived. There is a dance area, a nice bar, and even room for live music. The location was easy to find, but parking is limited. Definitely fresh and authentic.
My jerk chicken was decent for the most part . They use what appears to be a dry rub (very visible) in addition to the already seasoned chicken . I thought the combination was ok but not my favorite flavor profile for jerk chicken . Perhaps the amount of the dry rub was just too much or something but it was just ok to me . The rice and peas was abit dry as well and didn't taste of the typical coconut milk but helped by the side of oxtail gravy . The plantains finally weren't super ripened as I'd like them but were ok . The meal didn't come together nicely enough for me to say that I really enjoyed it . Everything individually was just ok . I also was able to sample the bbq chicken and it was very similar tasting to stew chicken . I don't know if I like it or not but I did notice grill marks so I know it was atleast made on the grill . Speaking to one of the workers, Brittany, I also found out that the mac and cheese and the potato salads are made with eggs which are no-no's and for all that I've mentioned, I am personally one and done with Clyde's .
We found Clive's Café on the best of Miami list. I am so happy that we did. I ordered the jerk chicken with macaroni and cheese and plantains. My son ordered the jerk chicken pasta with a side of macaroni salad and plantains. We were both blown away with how delicious the food was. The jerk chicken was to die for. I cannot even explain the flavors. The plantains were the best I've ever had. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good as well. Best of all we were served by Clive himself. Clive is a very personable man with a great smile. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience.Overall, I say Clive's is 10 out of five stars, but that's not an option. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Clive for a wonderful experience.
Well, I thought I had written a review for Clive's Café. We all went here as a family and had delicious food when I was in Miami in December visiting my grandchildren. I definitely want to come back here again. It's located in liberty city which was nice and pleasant for the day and only good things to say what a great restaurant delicious food!

I will more than likely be editing this review once I have a chance to actually sit there and eat a full meal, but because of Covid I only stopped by for a quick pickup bite. Best beff patty I've ever had!!!! The filling is delicious with just the right amount of spicy. I will def be coming here more often for these. I also got a side order of mac and cheese and loved it. This is different from your usual American mac, different spices, but I loved it because it tastes like you're at an island. Can't wait to visit for in-house dining! read more

IMHO the best Jamaican food in south Florida! It's a hip stretch of Little Haiti in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood. During coronavirus we went to the walk-up window (inside wasn't open because of CV19). The lady (Safronia, I think?) at the window was a hoot: she looked at Doc C in his medical get-up and me in my business casual, smiled and said "I'll bet you boys are lookin' at real estate here"...LOL, no I just like jerk chicken. This place is very cool and absolutely authentic Jah-Make-Ah mon. A Jamaican-American work colleague of my partner's knows I really like Jamaican food, so strongly suggested this place. The outside has a very cool paint job and there's a free parking lot. It's very easy to spot and park. You can also just look for the sizable line of Jamaican folks at the window, along with the Cuban doctor guy plus the business casual guy that looks like Mr Rogers. Doc C is mostly a vegetarian--which seems a shame with their amazing jerk chicken and beef patties--but they made him curried vegetables which were terrific even meat-free. My jerk chicken was mouth-watering. Even homemade at Jamaican friends' houses, it has never been this good...drive miles out of your way if you have to, just to taste this. We were out and about for a good while the rest of the afternoon so I also got some Jamaican beef patties and heated them up in a 7-11's microwave later...even reheated they were terrific too! One good thing to know: about 50 feet north there's a Panther Coffee with outside tables. It's great for coffee and tea, plus eating your Jamaican food during CV19 when the indoor seating is closed! read more

This place hands down is fantastic. My husband had the jerk chicken meal and I had stem fish with okra and a side of Mac and cheese and side salad. I was highly impressed. I'm a Trini so you know I know good food. It taste like home cooking. The best I tell you. You won't regret it. I thought I was in Jamaica for a second. read more

This supposed to be the curry goat. Which IT IS NOT. Just steamed the meat and threw some water down a*$ curry juice on it n called it gravy. No type of spicy ( n which I ask for twice) and no seasoning .Rice tasted like it was more than 2 days old. Side salad even tasted like s*#!+. Stale veggie patties. The jerk chicken pasta was sad., no type of taste SO NOT WORTH THE $44 SPENT. Better of eating from the corner store. The only reason y I gave it star is because I have to. WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR CARIBBEAN CUISINE!!! Mind you, this the second time eating from there...SAME TING!!!!!!! read more

I decided to stop by class to get some dinner for this evening I usually get the curry goat rice and peas and steamed cabbage tonight I decided to get the jerk chicken I should have stuck to the original curry goat. Unfortunately, the jerk chicken lacked authentic jerk taste. The jerk sauce that they gave me is actually barbecue sauce with some spice in it, not jerk sauce The amount of food was sufficient but because it did not taste like Jamaican jerk, the amount doesn't matter. The person taking my order was friendly and nice. My receipt says that I paid at 7:12. I left there at 8:14 when I got my food. There were several people waiting for their food for a long time, and the line was also long for people to order food. Unfortunately, I think she was a bit overwhelmed. I'm not sure what was going on, what was the holdup, or why it took so long. I have written a review before in the curry goat was absolutely delicious and the peas and rice I am not sure if ownership has changed maybe the cook has changed but you need to check your recipes and the taste of your food I was thoroughly disappointed tonight with the food. read more

The food at Clive's has been great each time I've eaten there. I would've given 5 stars, but the parking is lacking and the decor needs updating. However, if you like Jamaican food, you must try Clive's and ask for the scotch bonnet pepper sauce. read more

Ok, in comparison to other Caribbean eateries in Miami, the portions at Clive's are significantly smaller, and their prices are considerably higher. Though the food is somewhat tasty, it isn't flavorful enough to wow the taste buds. read more

Food delicious. We ordered the jerk chicken meal. this was by far our favorite. Only concern was the wait time, you'll have better luck doing takeout. The oxtail gravy was pretty oily and we ended up having to get another sauce. I'd come back again. read more
I've heard about Clive's from coworkers for some time now and I pass it going home from work on occasion. After having bad Jerk Chicken at a place in N.M.B., my curiosity got the best of me and I decided to take a leap of faith. Talk about taking the first step and not seeing the staircase. On my first trip, I ordered Oxtails and Jerk Chicken; It was absolutely divine! The Oxtails were tender; perfectly and complexly seasoned. On another trip to Clives, I had the Whole Fried Fish! It was perfect in every way. Seasoned with all the island spices that you expect an friend to perfection, not overcooked just simply friend perfection. Now, I've been eating Goat since I was a kid (no pun intended). This Goat was slow cooked in a delicious Curry Sauce. I think I've run through the menu many times. And everything is just wonderful. The place is helmed by a very nice lady who is warm and inviting. I said in another review that I would have to wait until I found a Jamaican Grandma to get that home cooked Island flavor. I went to Clive's and had a great lunch! The staff was super welcoming and attentive. The place has a lot of room and I saw a stage so I wonder if they have live music on certain days-- probably pre-COVID. I had a large goat soup and it was pretty flavorful. The soup was more broth heavy than I was used to, I needed some more goat, Lol. Everyone else at my table loved their food as well: steamed shrimp, jerk chicken, curry goat. Very interested in returning and trying some other menu items. read more

Listen, if you are looking for some great tasting Caribbean food, this spot in Little Haiti is the place to visit. The oxtails was incredible. The jerk chicken was grilled to perfection. The rice and peas was so flavorful I could eat it by itself. Even the cabbage was great. Everything was so satisfying. I wish I could give the food more stars. read more

IGNORE ALL THE HATERS!!!! This was so bomb! and the service was soooooo good she was super nice and had great vibes. I had the beef and veggie patty and the veggie is actually better in my opinion. I have been wanting jerk chicken for so long and it HIT! it was a hands on chicken and left my finger super delicious and ready to lick. It was so well seasoned and was so tender! Rice and peas were good (its rice and beans) and the steam veggies is cabbage it it was delectable. the ting soda is a grapefruit soda and is basically Squirt soda. read more

Came here one day at the recommendation of a family member that is also a foodie. The food is authentic Jamaican food and it was hot and fresh. The environment was nice with the music playing and the waitresses were very friendly which you don't always get at Caribbean restaurants lol. The Manish water aka goat soup had lots of meat, veggies, and dumplings in it. The jerk pork was okay but I wouldn't order it again because it tasted like it was cooked in an oven. However, there were a number of dishes I saw other customers get that I want to try here such as the curry goat, oxtail, and the stew peas. The lemonade was refreshing being that it was made inhouse. Definitely fat kid at heart approved so check them out! read more

Food was worth the wait. We ordered oxtails with rice and peas curry, shrimp, jerk, chicken, mac & cheese, chicken patties plantains and rum punch. All excellent and we have traveled many Caribbean islands... Jamaica, Grenada, Antigua, Dominican Republic, and this place had the best Caribbean food. The spice level was great. The food was fresh. The service was great, and we even ended up there a little later than we had wanted and we still felt like we were welcome, the restaurant is spacious and plays good music. read more

Clive's has been a Miami staple for Jamaican food for awhile, it's a great spot if you have a craving for traditional Jamaican food, I had the best oxtail in Miami here at Clive's, the meat was soft fell off the bone. The mac & cheese was creamy and the rice & peas brought everything together perfectly. Order a Jamaican kola you won't regret it. The Place offers take out and dine in. The staff is friendly and always recommends the best dishes of the day, I will be back to try the curry goat soon! read more

Just a few minutes north from Wynwood in the historic Little Haiti neighborhood you'll find Clive's. A down home yardi style eatery that will transport your back to the shores of Jamaica. Great service here! We dined in, ordered and was served all very promptly. The menu really needed no introduction as I eat Jamaican food in NY quite frequently. All the favorites were on the menu curry, jerk, and stewed. We started with a beef patty which wasn't my favorite but my bf really enjoyed. I would have liked more bits of the ground meat. The meals however made up for it. Tender flaky fish, stewed down in the brown sauce which was rich and slightly sweet. Tender jerk chicken with a nice charred grilled taste. And the sides! Really tasted like my granny made them. Perfect consistency on the mac salad- not too watery, a but tangy flavor. Potato salad was thick yet light and fluffy. And the sweet plantains topped it off for me like a sweet little treat at the end of it all. I have to come back here for breakfast next, I have a feeling the ackee and saltfish hits! read more

I started patronizing this place in March. The quality has steadily declined over the last 4 visits. A few months ago I would have rated Clive's 4stars. I am very disappointed in seasoning, portion, temperature and presentation as of late. Today we ordered fried conch and stew conch. Fried conch excessive breading, conch was minced so small all you takes is fried breading. Would Not recommend to anyone. I am an avid conch eater and know great Caribbean cuisine. Native of south florida who frequents the Islands. The stew Conch was loaded with onion, bell pepper and gravy but the conch was missing. The sauce instead of being presented in a container to avoid spillage had saturated the cabbage and macaroni. I threw both dishes in the trash. read more

Vegetarian chunks is a product made of soy. More like a meat substitute.
