Made a visit here recently with my older brother for a haircut. We were in the area and were wondering what else was out there (usually get a haircut in Santa Ana when I'm in Orange County). In our area, 7 dollar haircut places are a dime a dozen so nothing special there. We went here after looking at the reviews for this place...big mistake. I realized then that we should've just gone back to Santa Ana and stuck with our usual barber. I asked for a simple buzz cut. When they were done with my haircut, it looked a bit irregular with lots of little hairs sticking out. They didn't trim my sideburns or ask to trim them. They didn't bother with the back of my neck (like is standard with all the other places I've been to). I didn't mind that they spoke very little since I prefer it that way. But I would appreciate some effort, even if it would take an extra 5 minutes. By the way, the cut took a whole 5 minutes, which would be a plus if they actually did it well. My brother had issues with his cut and his barber had the audacity to try to keep some dollars when getting his change, as if the barber is the one to decide how much is tipped. Luckily, he just took it out of the barber's hand since it wasn't deserved. Experiences vary, but the whole experience pissed me off enough to write this. read more

And every single one was a butcher job: The "Moe" haircut (the "Almost Curly" once), faux Mohawk, Bootcamp razor cut, the "My Boyfriend cheated on me, kiss your coif Goodbye", the Chemo look, the "Sans Sideburns", the "One and a 1/2 Eyebrows", the vertical "Half Dome"... Today I asked to get my my beard and mustache trimmed too, ended with "My Teenager's First Goatee!™"... Why come back?. Is close by, cheap(*), and I don't learn from my mistakes sometimes. Glad to say that getting my beard blowtorched has decided this to be my last trip here. * The Good: Cheap ([*]Caveat: The "Six Dollar Haircut" is not a "full" haircut. Asian guy with tattoos purposefully and maliciously gave me a hack all the way to my scalp. 3 inches long by .25 inches thick, permanently damaging my scalp and leaving a bald spot. Two weeks later, no hair has grown in that area. That area is the side of my head which is full of hair. I pointed it out and he said I already had a bald spot. Funny how it was a straight line "bald spot". I have personally been coming to Bryan ("guy with tattoos" as referred to by Fernando, below) to get my haircut for 5+ years now, and every time it has been an excellent experience. He always pays attention to detail and makes sure to take the time to cut your hair the way you asked and to your liking. I don't think he would always have customers lined up waiting for haircuts if he was the type of barber to purposely butcher someone's haircut. I recognize a lot of his regular customers when I come in and doubt they would have returned after all these years of he didn't cut great hair. My friends and some co-workers are also regular customers now. The staff is very nice and respectful. Also, the wait is never more than 10 mins. If you are looking for a reasonably priced great haircut then Clipper D's is it. read more

The older gentlemen messed up my hair. I tried to give him tips to fix it but he ended up making it worse! I seriously could have given myself the haircut he gave me. Basically ran clippers through my hair until there was almost nothing left. I'm pretty generous with my reviews but this has got to be my worst haircut experience yet. I have only had my hair cut by Brian, but he is awesome! I have never waited for more than 15 minutes, and the cut itself usually takes around 10 minutes. On top of that, he does an excellent job and it's only $9! My time is valuable to me so I don't have time to wait a couple hours every week at a crowded shop, or making an appointment at an expensive trendy shop.
