Someone stopped by to walk our dog later in the week and left a really sweet note letting us know how he did. But, this review is really about their great customer service. I was out of town that same week and my husband had some friends pick him up to go out on Saturday evening. As luck would have it, he ended up locking himself out of the house (his house key is on his car keys and he ran out of the garage while it was closing!). After calling a locksmith while sitting in the driveway, he called me to let me know about his predicament. I reminded him that we had just given an extra key to Debbie and he should try to give her a call. Long story short, Debbie graciously went to pick up our key from our dog walker and agreed to meet us at nearby business around 9pm on a Saturday night. Did I mention it was raining?? Pretty awesome customer service, and just a really nice group of people. We will definitely continue using Wagging Tails and recommending them to friends!

Setting up services could not have been simpler. Whenever we needed a sitter, I would just text her and she would set it up right away. Our sitter was awesome and our cats were well taken care of whenever we were on vacation. I loved the daily texts and pictures we would get. So every appointment made takes minimum of three days to get hold of them. And it's not because they are out and about grooming (I confirmed that they only have one groomer, Kimberly). So almost two months ago I had my first appointment with them. Kimberly was on time and friendly. Cost for my 45 lbs, short haired dog plus nail trim was $65 and took less than 20 mins. Unfortunately, my dog came back smelling as bad as she had been when given to the groomer. Almost wrote the bad review then, but wanted to give them another chance. A month later, same experience: three days of trying to get someone to call me back and then scheduled appointment for week after that. Kimberly was on time and listened to my concern over the last service. All was well, until... Now last week, I was wise and after several days of calling, I made monthly appointments so I wouldn't have to chase the owner down each month. This time though, Kimberly had a family-emergency and couldn't make it. At least they were sensible enough to call and reschedule. But on the rescheduled day, Kimberly never came and no one answered the phone (of course). I was finally called the next day and was told that sometimes Kimberly just doesn't come to work and doesn't call In to let the owner know (how does she stay employed?). Rescheduled again(!) and guess who didn't show up and who didn't call me?! You got it: Kimberly. So I called and actually got the owner for the first time ever, told him the situation and to cancel my upcoming five appointments. Here is what the owner doesn't know. I am a loyal customer. If you even provide half-decent service, I will be coming to you religiously (just ask my mail technician who I have seen every two weeks since 2017. Please don't waste your time thinking this Is a real business or an option for your grooming needs. It's not.

But in the spirit of helping neighbors, I provide a summary of my recent experience with Godspeed, where my dog has been a client for 6 years. He had a stricture in his colon which was resulting in pooping-problems for about 5 months. It was a complicated case that looked like constipation + diarrhea. Dr. Hale and his team treated my dog over the course of 3 weeks for this condition--with kindness, thoughtfulness, good care, and communication. The stricture is now functionally repaired, and we very likely avoided surgery. Thus, not only did they provide a successful treatment, but they saved me thousands of dollars in the cost of surgery. My advice? Get pet insurance, as Dr. Hale advised me a couple of years ago! And take your dog to Godspeed Animal Care in Williamsburg if you can.

She let me pick out a haircut tailored for a cockapoo and it made all the difference in the world. It took me a while to find a place bc I heard all the horror stories of owners taking their dogs to groomers and their haircuts coming out "butchered". Vet care is pricey but have you shopped around? Most vets in the area are more expensive. I've never had an issue with the staff. I'm positive that if those complaining had actually said something to the vet? The issue would have been resolved. Also, why leave negative reviews because a business expects payment at time of service. Huh? This is a great local vet and deserves much better than the couple of low ratings.
