The prices are perhaps a little higher than typical in the greater South Bay - you can certainly find cheaper in torrance or other areas where there's more competition but this salon is well worth it. I'm a germaphobe and usually can't relax in a nail salon bc I'm watching like a hawk to make sure the tools and practices are hygienic. This place is very clean salon. I can actually relax here and trust them. Most of the ladies here have worked here for many years and are unlike the stereotypical nail salon techs. They're well educated, dress professionally and conservatively, engage in two way conversations with their clients, speak in spa voices. They do not generally talk amongst each other to the exclusion of their clients. Most of them are elegant. The good: I did a walk-in for a gel pedicure and manicure. It was a pleasant experience. The space is spacious and airy. The music was relaxing. There were many colors to choose from. The technicians did very detailed work. I enjoyed it so much I had my niece and mom come shortly after. Mom got a French pedicure and my niece got her very first ever acrylic nails. She loved them. The bad: I kind of wish there were TVs to watch or some wall art. The walls are sparse. My niece said the tech filed her cuticles a little too closely at times and that it was slightly painful. I tried this place for the first time and here are my initial thoughts: *easy to get an appointment (called and made an appt 30 min prior) *clean and updated facility *the tech/woman doing my nails was professional, wore a mask and gloves (not chatting or talking along side of another tech in a rude manner) *a NEW sanitizer bag of nail tools was opened for my service *foot massage was just ok, but the hot towels and hot stone at the end was VERY relaxing *cost was $50 $$$ 4 stars for basic pedicure. Service was good, nothing spectacular. It's pretty average nail salon, a bit bare inside, nothing on the walls. I thought maybe they just moved in.., but have been there for awhile - 7 yrs! I paid $70 just for pedi & mani, plus tipped, so came out to closer to $100... It's pretty expensive. But, I did have the deluxe pedi for $50. I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The ladies put very minimal effort with the scrub and massages. I would request a square shape but they always round the edges. My most recent experience was when they were cleaning the paint around my nails then would drip the brush directly to the acetone bottle. While expensive, Clio has excellent service. They were able to accommodate last minute, manicure and pedicure for 3 of us. I was amazed because my nail polish lasted over a week. I've been here many times over the past several years. The spa mani/pedi looked pretty good. Immediately following the pedicures the past 2 times, however, I've ended up with an infection at the site of slightly ripped or torn skin which occurred during a pedicure. The first one I thought was just a coincidence but this second one occurred last week, and now I don't think it's a coincidence. I'm concerned about the cleanliness of the tools used here and unfortunately won't return for future mani/pedi. I wanted to love this place SO much. The woman doing my pedicure was so careful and she spent a fair amount of time moisturizing and massaging. It was great! Unfortunately, I had a few issues with my manicure. I think he forgot to clean up my cuticles bc they are still very much there and it caused the gel paint to lift. Only 3 days after I got them done, two of my nails had chipped! Not to mention it came out very streaky and the entire nail wasn't completely painted... Made an appointment for late a Monday afternoon. It wasn't busy but still had to wait 10 minutes. I was directed to the spa chair, the tub was totally empty. I have never had a pedicure where I didn't soak my feet first in warm water with bath salts. The pedicurist removed my polish and started to clip my nails ! ?? Finally added some lukewarm water to the tub without bath salts. My feet got to soak for about 3 minutes tops. Next, and an even more upsetting "event"; the manicurist was so rough with my hands shoving my arms away after filing my nails. The water to soak my fingers was cool at best. She's talking away to the pedicurist and cut my cuticle so badly it starts to bleed. I immediately asked for alcohol or disinfectant. Begrudgingly she got up and dabbed my finger, no apology, not a care in the world. It took about 6-7 minutes to finally stop bleeding . She had the audacity to be ticked off because I said ouch and was concerned about getting an infection. When she put the nail polish on, she once again shoved my left arm away ( she was on my right) . She was so careless her arm touched my fingers and got nail polish on her arm and ruined the polish on my hurt manicured finger. A mani-pedi is supposed to be relaxing! This experience at Clio was the worst. I told the manager about the incident. His response "oh sorry". I wanted to give my business to a shop where I live to support the Promenade . I've been here a number of times, and this past visit was the best!! I called in the morning and got an appointment for later that day. Natalie did my gel manicure and she did it BEAUTIFULLY-- just look at the pictures! On top of that, I chose white which is a difficult color to perfect. Overall, Clio is very clean, they sanitize between customers, and the staff are pleasant. Natalie is friendly and listened to all my requests, so I left very happy. Wasn't a fan of this place. I called on the phone the day of and asked if I could be a walk-in and a price estimate of a gel french tip (specifically saying I currently have gel on as I know some places charge extra for that) and they said $45 ($40 gel and $5 french) and I was like okay great. Well I get there and the girl at the front desk looks at my nails and kinda does a double take and then asks to see them up close. She examines them and then talks to the woman next to her in a language I didn't understand and was like this is going to be an extra $15 just to remove the gel. Like huh? I asked her why and she was like "this is special gel, you went to a korean place right?" And I was like no, I didn't, and it's regular gel. And she was like "no, it's special gel, hard to remove". Okay I've been going to salons for 6+ years and I've never seen a "special type of gel" first of all, much less one that would cost an extra $15 to remove.... My nails were literally just regular gel. The only thing I can think of it that my nails had hand painted gel design that looked like it could easily be $120+ and maybe they thought they could rip me off with the gel removal price since I already asked for and got quoted for gel french tip? I'm really not sure, but I'd recommend asking for a price estimate upfront so they can't add in hidden fees like this :-/ read more

Back again. First time visiting in over a year due to COVID concerns. Same deal here. Called at opening on a week day and got a same day pedi appt. Staff are wearing masks. There was one empty spa chair between me and the next client. Reception desk and nail tables for manicures have some plexiglass up. Felt safe enough given I had my vaccines and it was a weekday and not busy. Noticed some of the polish bottles were older and almost out. Overall, still a pleasant place for a decent pedi. Sad to see the Starbucks, Loft and Pottery Barn have left this mall. read more

The first bad experience was discussed with management how my nails weren't don't properly and I was promised a discount upon return. Well when I returned my discount was $5 which I give that in tip to each stylist. I am not one to complain however I feel this treatment was RACIST especially when I was told I couldn't return. AMAZING dip powder manicure by Connie!!! I had previously gotten one dip manicure a couple weeks ago, it was a bit thick due to the color (maroon) I had chosen needing a lot of coats to reach opacity. I explained my issues with my last manicure to Connie and she MADE SURE she listened to every request I had! She was fantastic! My first experience at Clio was also wonderful with Lynn! I showed her a photo of a previous manicure she had done for someone else and replicated it on acrylics perfectly! Both ladies are wonderfully sweet women and really care about their artistry. Highly highly recommend, especially when a dip powder mani (with previous dip powder removal) PLUS a pedicure with a sugar scrub and hot stone massage/lotion was only $80! fantastic price for the quality of services rendered. read more

Customer service sucks. The guy on the front desk (which I assume it's the owner or the manager) looks and acts grumpy. No welcoming face when we walk in. My manicurist (Lucy) seemed to be on a hurry, she didn't like when I suggested to make my nails a little shorter, she just handed me the file to do it myself and I just did. It was my first time getting acrylic and she couldn't care less if I liked it or not. When she was done, she turned around and left. The base of the nails looks sloppy. I have no complaints about the pedicurist, she did a good job (unfortunately, I didn't get her name). It was an older lady. I spent $121 and got bad service. If I ever go back, I will definitely ask for another manicurist. I hope I can do a better review next time. I hate to write negative stuff. :( read more

Honestly, i've never been to one nail salon more than 3 times. Most salons either are really bad the first time you come (and still charge you ridiculous prices) or wait until you try to become a regular and screw up. This place i know for sure, i'm becoming a regular. A friend recommended me and i love how they make acrylic look so natural instead of really thick. The service is quite friendly, the place is very clean and smells nice, and they get you in and out fairly quickly. I forgot to ask who did my nails but she was so friendly and very attentive to my needs. Firstly, i kept changing my mind on what i wanted because i'm that annoying customer (sorry!). But when i finally decided, I originally wanted an ombre look but she told me from the start that it may not come out the way i wanted instead of doing it and then charging me for a look that is awful. She was also very wary of time which i appreciated because i was just causally talking about starting work in a couple of hours and she kept and eye on the time for me. Very considerate. I will say that it's not the exactly look we agreed upon and the lines are slightly wonky (if you stare hard enough) but i still fell in love with it. I was given compensation to erase my original review so that just proves what kind of company this is... Do not go here! The front desk man is extremely rude and sneaky. The first time I went there, he overcharged me and when I pointed to the price menu to show him the correct amount, he had already swiped my card so he had to give me cash to pay me back. If I hadn't pointed out on the price menu that he charged me the wrong amount, they would've just taken my money. Make sure to review the price menu at the front when or if you go!! Then the second time I went, Lynn did my nails and made every nail a different length. When I pointed it out she told me that I wasn't paying attention and that she wouldn't fix it and she was extremely argumentative. I was really offended that she said I wasn't paying attention because you shouldn't have to watch their every move, you should be able to go to a salon to enjoy your time and trust that your nails are all going to be the same or equal lengths. At the same time she was arguing with me, the lady doing my toes messed up and was supposed to do gel but did regular polish... even though on the phone I booked my appointment for gel and confirmed it when I walked in. So in al, they are sneaky with money, don't follow instructions, can't be trusted and are really rude. To be a paying customer you expect to get quality and care. Disappointing. Was going to give this salon 5 stars again but found that my cuticles came back the next day from getting them done. Super disappointing. I will have to trim them off myself. Other than that, I had a good experience here. Called in before to make an appointment and only had to wait a short time while I got there. I got get manicure that costed $30. I believe they charge you $5 extra to remove previous gel polish so you can easily do that at home. I picked what I thought was a nude brown color but it turned out gray. Salon is easy to find. It is near the outskirts of the mall. The interior of the salon is beautiful and really well decorated. They have windows in between the seats for covid and they clean when people leave. They also have Venmo as a pay method - contactless pay. read more
