I felt that the situation was not assessed calmly and that my explanation was not fully considered. I explained that I had recently started taking a medication that can cause dizziness. The nurse practitioner wouldn't listen or assist me in getting up; however, the medical assistant helped me return to the front area. I later visited Next Level Urgent Care in Sugar Land, where I was evaluated and diagnosed with the flu. My symptoms included dizziness, headaches, nausea, and significant body aches, which were consistent with that diagnosis. My primary concern is I was not adequately heard or assessed before 911 was called and refusing to listen to anything I said. I was yelled at me to go to the emergency room. I was also concerned about the potential cost of an emergency-room visit. This nurse practitioner was rude and incompetent. After I returned to the front area, the nurse practitioner asked whether I still wanted a back X-ray. At that point, I declined the X-ray. Had she known about the symptoms of the flu she would have done better. Absolutely not. I appreciate the assistance provided by the medical assistant and front desk assistant. I used the app to claim my spot in line and it notified me when to come inside. We had just enough time to grab breakfast and sit in the car to eat. Once inside, check-in was fairly easy and the nurses and staff were friendly and pleasant. After a simple X-ray and a visit with the Dr. it was confirmed that my son fractured his tibia. The nurse who wrapped his leg with a temporary splint was so courteous and careful with my son. We left with a CD of the X rays and an official report from the Dr. about the diagnosis. A few days later, a nurse called to check up on my son to see how he was managing his injury. I have nothing but great things to say about our experience at Next Level and highly recommend it to anyone. Tip: try to wait in the car and use the app if you can...lots of sick people in and out of the waiting room so you're better off minimizing the time you wait inside. I had a…read moreskin spot that needed looking at and was able to wait a week before the center could get me on the schedule. The nurse practitioner was professional and capable. I got a referral and was able to go to a dermatologist to get the spot inspected. The center is clean and people are all professional in their approach. The major downside that has caused me to switch my PCP away from Sanitas is 1) making appointments is difficult because all schedulers have a very heavy accent and are obviously located outside of the country; and most importantly, 2) making a same-day appointment for an acute illness was impossible without it being charged as urgent care which costs more than a regular PCP office visit. I was told that the clinic was completely booked for three days for office visits no matter if it was with the MD or a NP. Then the clinic told me that they had plenty of visit times open for urgent care on that day. To me, it seems that the clinic is only interested in bringing in higher charges than office visits if they have plenty of open times but push off scheduled visits 3 or more days forward. If you are sick and need to see a doctor right away, this is definitely not the place to have set as your PCP. Sad state of affairs for the medical industry and health insurance!
