We just had 90% of the interior of our house painted by Dave and he did an amazing job. He is a true professional and perfectionist. He was very communicative throughout the entire process and answered all of my questions. He knows what he is doing and goes the extra mile - we had many walls that needed to be patched and some random things we wanted taken out of the walls (and old alarm system) and he took them out, put in the sheet rock, and made it look like nothing had ever been there. Dave and his crew have done a great job on our house. We have had him do several jobs and we have been totally pleased each time. To begin with he gives you a detailed estimate in writing. He quickly answers email or voice mail messages. He shows up on time, every time. During a project the work area is cleaned up every day; completely professional. Then there is the quality. Top notch. He has done really high ceilings, cut in different colors worked inside and out. All done perfectly. He makes recommendations if you ask for them, but he will do what you ask. I got Dave Clingerman awesome review off of my next door app and decided to call to set up an appointment. Had to call him twice to get a text back that he would call me after the weekend. I waited until Tuesday night and text him to remind him. I finally received a call and we spoke for at least 15 minutes on what I was looking for. He said he was a month out, I was disappointed but asked if he would come by to give me a quote.. He agreed!! And said he would call me and swing by after his job that week. 2 weeks went by and no call. It's exhausting trying to keep up on people who tell you they will do something and do not follow threw. I just text him to ask if he was still interested and I received a return text "NO". Communication is a must with a painter or a contractor. read more

Another company didn't even call me back but Dave did. He came onsite on time to examine my room, was professional, and provided a competitive quote. Pretty lame service. We saw Dave and heard from him quit a bit until we signed the agreement. He was on the job ~ 5% of the time. They pulled off the job twice because a 'very important' client needed something done right away. He was the high bid. We figured that we would be getting VIP service without having to push for it. As time went on we found may flaws in the finished work. We were expected to act as the primary inspectors- there was no lead person (or the owner) doing QC checks before we were expected to check the work. If we knew painting, we would have done it our selves or hired some painting 'guys'. We also spent a lot of time managing paint purchasing for the crew- not sure if this is standard for painters or not. I checked, they do carry a contractors lic and workers comp--this counts for an extra star. read more

Dave is our go-to option for painting, texturing and moulding. I recently installed a new ceiling fan and TV and had some sheet rock that needed patching, texturing and painting. He and Eric are always on time, show up when they say they will, and do great work. David is the best painter around! I have had other painters in other homes and he goes way above and beyond. He is a complete perfectionist and really knows what he is doing. He is always on time, comes on weekends or evenings if need be, and he always cleans up after. He is in no way lazy like most painters I've encountered are. I seldom write reviews on YELP or any other site for that matter. However, Dave Clingerman (and his assistant, Eric) have been doing all of my painting, crown moldings, and ceiling work for over 10 years. As an example, my wife and I downsized into retirement in 2009 and bought a smaller home. It needed paint, inside and out, crown moldings, and the "popcorn" ceiling removed and a more appealing texturing applied. We also added a couple of fences and arbor that needed painting. We had Dave do it all. I am extremely fussy about details. I tend to hover around contractors we hire to be sure they perform as expected. We just had Dave and Eric update our exterior last week with a slightly richer color as the sun is quite harsh on our front in the afternoon and had faded the color where the sun is most brutal. I no longer hover as I know what to expect from Dave and Eric. If I were writing a tag line for Dave Clingerman Painting, I would tell everyone, "When you think about excellence and quality in painting, think Clingerman." I promise you, you will never need another contractor for painting. read more
