Ill never go back. I came in at 3:25 as a new patient with a 3:45 appt. At 4:20, about an hour after arrival, I asked if I was going to be seen. After 5 mins, they brought me back to Charles Clinch's office where I continued to wait another 15 mins. When he came in, he asked me how I was doing and I told him "Ok, just a little impatient." An appropriate answer could have been "I'm sorry. I understand you've been waiting a long time. Thank you for being patient while we were dealing with xyz" Charles Clinch's answer? "So did you want to just leave? Cause it is what it is" But OH! It doesnt end there. I STILL bit the bullet and he jumps straight into asking the factory belt questions: "So you're here for heavy bleeding?" " How long has that been going on?" "Clots?" "What size?" "What birth control are you on?" I told him nothing. "No, what birth control do you use?" Again, nothing. "Ok, what measures of precaution do you use to prevent pregnancy?" Really? Nothing. "So are you trying to get pregnant?" I said "Not right away" "So youre not trying and not preventing?" "Yes" Precisely! So it took him "20 questions" to get to that point as opposed to letting me explain all my history. "Well we may want to just put you on a hormonal birth control for 3 months to try to find out if its hormonal or not. Or if you want we can try to do some lab work to actually find out the cause" (Well, what would your answer be?) Clinch doesn't listen, he just talks at you. His next statements: "So your body goes through what's called an ovulation cycle and sometimes with heavy bleeding you get anovulatory cycles. You do know what ovulation is? Are you familiar with how that works?" "Well, yes." "Ovulation...." Blah blah blah. Again, he doesn't listen! I just told him yes. Do I know as much as you? No. You're the one with the fancy degree and machinery for a diagnosis. This doctor needs some compassion, empathy, bed side manner, and a set of big ears instead of a big mouth. If he had let me explain, he would've found out that I've had a child already, I'm very familiar with what ovulation is and what main hormones are at play, what birth control I have used in the past, how many ml I've bled this month because I use a menstrual cup, etc. But no... I couldnt take it anymore. I couldn't take the demeaning, condescending words, tones, looks. I left and got my money back. Now this is obviously a long, detailed review. I care about you enough - the reader, the one searching desperately for a good doctor, the one hoping that these reviews will give you an idea of what to expect - to suggest to you to look elsewhere. And follow what your gut is telling you. I should've walked away sooner when I heard all the pharmaceutical commercials on replay, telling me he's probably the kind to just write a script and call it good. Or when almost every page you fill out as a new patient is all about how they're going to get paid and how they'll tack on fees for all sorts of things like an extra $10 bucks if they have to send you a bill a 2nd time. Or when I saw patients come in after me and go ahead of me because they had a different (obviously better) doctor. Or when I waited over an hour. Or when I was asked by Clinch himself if I just wanted to leave. All moments I should have listened to my gut and just left. At least I got my money back without a fight. read more
