Saved by Ehrhardt Brothers Quality Plumbing! (West of Baltimore, a.k.a ColumbiaPlumber)…read more Sunday evening, our water felt less hot than usual. Monday, it was only as warm as we keep the house, and only as much water as there is in the pipes! Our gas water-heater failed! Bad timing, too. Last week was what Chicago calls Fools'-Spring ... around 70°. But this week was back to Second-Winter, 30° (Mar 2026). And the next warm days, which Chicago calls the "Spring-of-Deception", is still ten days away. There was water leaking from the heater. This is considered the calm before the 50-gallon tsunami. If this is home-remedy advice, First call a friend who has successfully navigated this problem. Next shut off the gas and then the pilot. Next shut off the water inlet. Your friend will have at least one plumber to recommend. (They will enjoy that...) If your garden hose isn't frozen to the spigot, drain the water tank. If frozen, spend a sleepless night with the 24/7 plumber's number on speed-dial. We chose #2.  We made it through the night. Two of our friend's recommendations were small-businesses, our preference, and we asked all three for quotes and availability. Ehrhardt was ready to offer a price based on our descriptions and photos, of course with caveats for anything unexpected. I considered their bid to be a pretty-penny, but I'll say it was less than our friend's expectation, and more than our friend in Cleveland expected. A fair price. They came the next morning, and it might have been sooner if we had called right away. We cleared a path for them through the house, and they had the water heater replaced in 90min. Impressive. We went out for St. Pat's. But what we should have done was what they told us: check the pilot light for about 30min, and test the hot water after 60 to 90min. We came home to cold water. I'll admit some grumpiness. We called in the morning, and they came back in a jiffy (our apologies to everyone else who had appointments that day). In 30min, they figured it out: a faulty pilot in the new, just-unboxed water heater. They had a replacement part over-nighted. The next morning, in 30min, done. This time we did as told: checked the pilot after 20min (and nervously, an extra time again after that). Still lit! The second time we checked, the hot water outlet was noticeable warm. By 60min, hot water from the faucets! By 90min, much to relief of nearly everyone i know, a piping hot shower. AAAAAHHH :-) Ok, so how does three visits equal 5-stars! The hardest question answered first: Because the problem was the manufacturer's fault, and Ehrhardt handled it flawlessly: Excellent communication by Ehrhardt, priority attention to our problem, no excuses, just fast resolution. Great service staff, from the office to my house. Fair price. I admit that I'm writing this in the after-glow of that hot shower. This could be the start of a beautiful situationship.

We can think of no one else that we'd trust with our family and homes. It's incredibly difficult to find trust-worthy, reputable, and attentive professionals like Bryan and his group, so believe me when I say: LOOK NOWHERE ELSE for your plumbing needs, Bryan and his guys are exactly what you need.

I've been a customer since Spring of 2016 and have purchased two top-of-the-line Waterfurnace…read moregeothermal systems from Supreme, both with lots of bells and whistles, and I've used their plumbing services many times to the tune of thousands of dollars. They used to have really good people working for them who were responsive, kind and communicative. Last Fall a tech (nice guy, but seemingly new/green) destroyed a piece of our system. After a tough phone call they at least agreed to cover it under warranty. Some of the copper lines that were installed for my de-superheater in June 2016 sprung pinhole leaks. Their plumbing crew claimed it was high levels of chlorine in the (public) water supplied to my house and wanted me to drop a lot of money for a filtration/dechlor system. It's a 40yr old home with copper everywhere - only this batch of copper leaked. I had to get another plumber to replace the copper and it has been fine since. This Spring they called to get me on the schedule for my Spring PM, which was in early April. Here we are in early June, two months later and my PM appt has been cancelled/rescheduled 6 times. When I call the office or text the people who answer no longer seem to care or be willing to solve the problem. I'm tired of wasting vacation days to be at home for a service tech that's never going to show up. I'm not sure what happened to this business but it seems to have gone from one of the great ones to absolute hell-in-a-handbasket. It's time for me to move on from this abusive relationship...

But, their services have gone way down. We stopped using them a few years when I was so tired of their constant hounding to send out technicians for "assessments" for electric, plumbing, duct cleaning, heating, HVAC. It was constant, and if they came, they were sure to find thousands of dollars of repairs needed on things that were working fine. I believe in maintenance, but this was an excessive gauge for money. I recently had them back to repair the house humidifier they installed 3 years ago. It was my mistake to not investigate further before signing on for service, but they charged us over $700 for a part that costs $150 and about one hour of labor. They do not provide invoices that list parts and labor but instead have a star system that is like smiley faces and unicorns in the lack of information they provide. This is in fact illegal to not list parts and labor, but they get away with it as a "service package." While they were here, they looked at our geothermal until and came up with $12K in repairs but then sent no invoice on those recommendations. The technician used to be the one who would suggest repairs and provide the costs, but now the technician has to call the sales manager while at the house, and they try to talk you into what you need. It's the feeling of a used car lot and does not offer any trust or sense of honesty. I do not recommend them unless you want and can afford to overpay for all services nor have time to look elsewhere.

We set up a time to meet the following day. The next day Khuma texted me when he was in route and arrived on time with his assistant, They both put on shoe coverings before entering my home. After taking a look at the heater he assured me he could check several systems to find the culprit and gave me an estimate. The work was completed in about an hour. He then showed me the various systems he had checked as well as the results. He ended up placing a new valve on the overflow system. He cleaned up the work area when he was done. He also took $50.00 off the quoted estimate and charged me $200.00. I found Khuma to be polite, and concerned. The quality of the work and the knowledge he demonstrated in the type of water heater system was impressive. He even quoted the amount to replace the entire system. I placed his name in my call list under plumbers in case I would need future help. I would definitely recommend him for anyone needing help with a plumbing issue. LB Feb, 2026

And within an hour he diagnosed and fixed the problem (luckily just a shot capacitor) at what I thought was a reasonable price. Scott was super professional and friendly without being pushy with any additional products to sell. He also checked our other working unit just about of precaution. We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!!
